  1. Well as a former tournament bass fisherman, I probably have 20+ Costa for fishing and everyday wear - but for some reason all of them do not help me on the golf course at all - unless I am looking for bedding bass in one of the ponds - But I do wear Tifosi when playing golf, for some reason these have been the best for me, I have tried so many other sunglasses from expensive to cheap and I kept coming back to these. Not sure if they help that much with actually playing but they def do not hurt me like some others did
  2. I think that CC's are a bit different at each location, maybe?? I have been to a couple and they were all a little different - the one that is near me is the one in Destin FL and I can say that both the guys in there never start with anything related to heads or shafts. They have always asked me what I was looking to accomplish first. Then from there we either look at heads or shafts. I have been there a couple times when they have said to me not to change a thing (particularly my wedges) I am very particular with iron and wedge head shape and profile, but driver is less so - I carry woods instead of hybrids because they look ridiculous to me and cannot hit them. I would say that the next time you to go a CC tell them what you want to accomplish and if they are not trying to help you in that manner tell them and go somewhere else. Also Ian is probably in the top 10% in public club fitters, we are just blessed that he shares it on videos
  3. I am a tinkerer of the driver for some reason - I hit it well but I always looking for the that extra yard or tighter dispersion so I am trying different shafts on the regular. One thing I like to do is once a year go get fit for a new driver (not purchase but fit). They will give me the all the specs of the new driver and then I will go out find what is like that. A lot of the shafts on the market are very similar to one another (not same but similar) so you can get very close to what you were fit for. I am still gaming the Stealth 1 model and have changed shafts three times to find something that is working for me - right now I am gaming the Jupiter shaft from Steadfast golf - I get the tighter dispersion and lower spin for a little extra distance Personally the head to me is not as important - some others may disagree, but when getting fit almost all the heads hit pretty close to the same to me, it jsut depends on what shafts you try in them Anyways good look in your search
  4. @GolfSpy_BEN WOW, all this in 1 year - great job and keep all the content coming

  9. I will agree with a lot of this as I am too exhausted from this One of the points that I may take here is the NFL was once two leagues (NFL/AFL), NBA was two leagues as well (NBA/ABA) (also I think before the NBA was formed it was actually two other leagues as well. At some point I believe that both of them will come together in some way - probably some type of merger like the NBA/ABA Anyways who knows and I really do not care - just point me to a golf course so I can play
  10. Disclaimer: I am not a golf god or nor did I sleep in a Holiday INN Express last night - so anything I say can be thrown out the window at anytime Rob on your wedge shots that are coming in 10yds short, you may have it teed up a bit too high. I have found with wedges that you want them as close to the ground as possible. Also another thing that plagues higher hdcp'ers is the swing from a tee'd up ball, a lot of the times they tee it too high and try and make the smae swing or tee it right and try to make a diff swing (more up than down) and this will in turn cause shorter shots. I would say go to the range and do nothing but hit you 58 or 60 off a tee for about 20 to 30 times and have the tee just even with the grass and make the same swing you would normally (make yourself do this), and you will probably find yourself making better contact and taking a better divot.
  11. This is always a funny topic to me - I have friends that never tee it up with anything and telling me that they hit better without the tee. Which I consistently call BS, if you tee it up correctly it is the perfect lie and so what you are saying is that you hit a golf ball better from an imperfect lie than a perfect one and this is coming from 8 to 20 hdcp's. No one and I mean no one can hit it better than what they can off a perfect lie. I use this analogy with my buddies because of being hunters, you have a 200yd shot broadside, you want bipod or sandbag or do you want to free hand this shot. We are all pretty good shots at 200yds with a scope and freehand, but even better with bipod/sandbag. Always take the perfect lie, you can always push the tee down a bit further to take spin off or tee it up a bit higher to add some spin.
  12. I track the following on a consistent basis - but now I am think iof revising it a bit after reading all these posts In order of importance (To Me) 1. # of Putts 2. Length of putts (Approx) 3. GIR - But now I am thinking of adding the nGIR, I think this is something that I am missing out on for sure 4. Prox. to pin from 100yds and in 5. Prox to pin from 150yds out - does not matter if on green 6. Prox to fairway - whether I hit the FW or how far off I hit from edge of fairway A couple things I will be adding nGIR and position The one thing that I relatively don't care about is the fairway and the position that much - I have had some of my best rounds not hitting fairways at all and be out of "position". I can see if you are way off in the woods or something, but I do not need to track that to tell me that was a bad shot or bad idea I do sometimes track the scrambling aspect of it, like getting out the woods or some type of trouble
  13. Date 03/04/2024 Course Name Fort Walton Beach - The Oaks Gross Score 71 Course Handicap 0 Gross Strokes over/under par -1 Net Score to Par -1 Net Score 71 Net Birdies or better 3 Longest Drive 0 TYPE OF ROUND SOLO SCRAMBLE My 10-12 ft lagging was on tonight - man these greens were super slow - several missed birdie opportunities, but still an under par round..
