T-Bone's Achievements

  1. I start the season with Mizuno MP-25 set, move into the Titleist T-100 set when the swing starts to get grooved and I have a set of Mizuno MP-33 at my mothers house that I usually play 2-3 times a year when I visit.
  2. My go to has been the Scotty Cameron Coronado California model. I also own and occasionally game the California models of the Hollywood and Del Mar. Have an older model refinished SC Bullseye and an early 1970s Ping Anser that used to be my dad's.
  3. I play with the same guys at the same time on the same 2 courses almost every weekend so usually show up about 30 minutes prior, hit maybe 5 or 6 range balls and a couple putts and we go. If I am playing a new course or a bucket list place, then definitely there at least an hour prior for a full bucket, putting and chipping, review scorecard and tees, etc...
  4. Usually use a black Titleist cart bag that I got maybe 4 years ago. Just purchased a Titleist Players 4 carry bag in white and blue so that when I do a bucket list or walking only course I can also do that.
  5. Just moved on from my Mizuno MP-25 irons which I got spring 2016. Picked up a set of Titleist T100. I would say generally every 5-7 years. Really like the Mizuno's and may even keep them but I turn 47 this year and really wanted to give myself something to get into my 50s and then decide if I need to look at a totally different set up / shafts / etc... I play about 60x a year on average and living in WI that isn't too horrible with a full time job
  6. Mizuno - Been heavily biased towards these over the years. Played MP33 irons through most of the 2000s and picked up a set of the MP25 which have been in my bag until this week. Titleist - Just picked up 5-PW of the T100 irons. I've played Vokey wedges for over a dozen years and had a Scotty in the bag the last 20. Owned one 915 driver years ago and wish I never would have gotten rid of it after it was gone TaylorMade - Played the Tour Preferred irons in high school and loved them, definitely forced me to become better. Also played the R9 irons for 4-5 years. Currently playing an M5 driver. It's been a good one for me but leaning towards trying a new Titleist. I carry a 3 SIM hybrid from them but don't particularly love it. Ping - Played Zing 2 irons in college and early 2000s. Easiest clubs to hit I've ever owned. Have a few putters. Really been a fan of their newer irons, specifically the forged versions Callaway - I have a few of the hybrids in my bag and they just set up really well for me and I was able to get decent deals on them. Just set up well for my eye. Never hit their irons or wedges Cleveland - Played their wedges exclusively for years before moving to Vokey. Still think they make a nice wedge but I'm with Vokey for good. I view everyone else as a step behind. I do really like the Srixon irons. Play with a guy regularly that has the Sub 70s and he swears by them. At this point in my life everything seems to be leaning towards getting into the Titleist stuff but definitely haven't been afraid to mix it up the last 10 years or so.
  7. Try to play 60 rounds or more. Last year was 55 and I hung the clubs up a little early, also a rough spring getting out of the blocks. I'd like my sand save % to fall between 45 and 50%, fairways above 50% and greens above 55% Just picked up a new set of T100 irons so getting used to those will be key - can't wait Likely going to take out my 3 wood and try to use the 3 hybrid more often for placement Try to practice more, specifically around the greens with chipping and putting I broke par on 7 individual nines but only one 18 round. I'd like to get that full round number above 3 this season.
  8. I try to break 40 for each nine and stay away from anything worse than a bogey. Obviously this doesn't always work out as one bad swing can create a failure at both goals. I've gotten a lot better at avoiding making the "hero" shot, taking my medicine and trying to get up and down for a par rather than creating a double or worse.
  9. I've had between 4 and 5 brands in the bag the last 5-6 years.
  10. I play quite a few long par 3s on my home course which has 36 holes. Pulled the trigger on a Callaway Super Hybrid (24 degrees, 5hy ). Purchased off the Callaway Pre-owned website for $145 which is a far cry from the $400 price tag they were when first released. Looked brand new when it arrived. Unfortunately living in Wisconsin I will only be able to try it out virtually and have plans to do so next weekend.
  11. I use Western Birch. Was breaking tees like every few holes before picking some of these up plus these have some different looking colors/designs that I liked. I'd say I can get through an entire round with just one tee at least half the time. Never really liked the marks on my driver the plastic ones make. A buddy of mine uses the martini tees but I think some of it has to do with how easy it is to get the ball set up as he is a bit older than I am. https://westernbirch.com/?gclid=EAIaIQobChMIrJXpjuGU-wIVURx9Ch1BwQOfEAAYASAAEgIRmPD_BwE Looks like they make Bamboo as well.
  12. Well it was a carbon copy of last time I was there. At least we got in a bit early to shop and walk most of the back nine before getting the hook. Hope you were able to enjoy your time. Sounds like you should get another chance at tickets if you were the one that got them this time around.
  13. Looking wet for sure Tuesday, now we just have to hope there is no lightning.
  14. I'll be there the 5th as well and right now the weather is looking pretty good. I last was there in 2017 for a Monday practice round and they booted everyone off the course around noon for the rest of the day due to lightning. It was very disappointing. Enjoy your day RobotDoc.
  15. Sand Valley is a bit out of the way for sure so if you can stay in the area or on site that is probably ideal. Early last May I got out and played both courses same day with some buddies after driving up from SE Wisconsin. Definitely a LONG day and a LONG walk. We all did it pushing our own clubs. Played Mammoth first and if I had to choose I'd probably do it that way again as the fairways are very generous and a fun layout. Sand Valley was the more challenging of the two in my opinion. We had some issues with pace of play but no issues with the condition of the courses. A lot of fun and very fair. Pretty hard to lose balls out there. Didn't get a chance to take on the par 3 as we just didn't have the time unfortunately. If you have a chance to stay on site, that would appear to be the best scenario. Nice bar and farm to table restaurant on site and the food stand at the tee and turn on the Sand Valley course is very good. I believe they also have food trucks out there when the season is in full swing.
