  1. I'm in. Picks set. Took the safe route.
  2. I agree with @Riverboat who stated that upgrade should happen when you see a significant distance increase or improvement in dispersion. We are in an era where the improvements in driver performance are incremental at best year over year. When new models come out, I look at it as an opportunity to see if the new drivers will fit me better because it matches my swing better not because I expect it to magically give me more yards. Improvements are hard to come by because unless you want a non-conforming driver, maximum ball speed is capped by the rules of golf. 150mph ball speed for 100mhp club head speed. Instead manufacturers are working on keeping that max speed across the larger part of the face and providing models/adjustability so you can hit the right spin/launch window to maximize distance.
  3. Just received Aldila Rogue White MSI 130 70 Stiff shaft with Callaway Tip. I can't wait to try it. I have the same shaft in 60 gram class and is my favorite so far out of 4 shafts I've tried with my Mavrik driver head.
  4. The OP probably meant sub $40 new balls. I play used balls. Namely, 2021 Pro V1 Yellow Grade A (Below Mint). About $28 / Dozen. Opinions on used balls are mixed, I'm sure. I haven't noticed any performance issues on the field or on my Launch Monitor. I will toss out occasional ones that are discolored (I assume from being water-logged). If I went Mint grade, it would be around ~$32/dozen.
  5. I had my bout with COVID as well. I hope you gain all your strength back soon. 244 rounds in 2021! Well done. Shooting your age? Fantastic!
  6. I wonder if they are going to be refreshed soon. I just noticed that p770 are no longer available on TM website. It seems like TM refresh Irons around September so it's rather curious.
  7. It's sad that we won't be seeing those informative videos featuring Matt. His consistent swings allow for the reviews/fittings to be successful. Not to mention the great on-camera chemistry between the 2. If Ian continues the video, I hope he can find another 'robot' hopefully featuring a more mortal like distances. I think a strong lady pro could get the job done.
  8. If I'm ranked #7 in the world, I will have a back-up set with exact same specs ready to go that can be air expressed to me.
  9. There wasn't a muddy ball in sight.
  10. I just picked up Aldila Rogue White 130 MSI 70 on EBay. I currently play the same shaft in 60 gram class. I'll get to find out if I swing the heavier version better or worse. I should have some results to post in about a week.
  11. I have iomic Sticky 2.3 on my irons. It’s been a couple of months and I like them. They do feel tackier then tour velvet I’ve always used. They feel smaller in my hands even though they are standard size. Real test will be how durable they are.
  12. Expecting the first significant snow accumulation overnight. Sigh…
  13. Cool. I looked around a bit as I was curious. Looks like you have Bentley Classic complete set w/ BC2 irons (although it looks like you are missing 1 club) Welcome to Bentley Golf | Bentley Golf I put it in the cart and saw that it was ~$8000. Yikes. You weren't kidding about crazy prices. I did see that there were sold Bentley putter, FW, utility and iron set in Ebay. I saw that BC2 Steel sold for ~$700 and graphite BC1 for ~$1000. Putter for $200, FW for $250 and Utility for $150. All sold during Oct 2021. Personally, I would flip them.
  14. Thanks. I’m curious. Do you have the same alignment issue (side angle)? How much and which direction do you have to rotate your unit?
  15. I wouldn't use one. But, I wouldn't care if I was playing with someone who was. I guess I would not like it if we were playing for longest drive for $$ or something.
  16. Welcome to the forum? You will find many gear heads here for sure. My poison is driver shafts... If you haven't already, check out Most Wanted putters for 2021 and earlier years.
  17. Today was another Super Speed Training day. I've been noticing that I've been pulling my shots (starting out 0.5 to 2 degrees left) even though my normal shot usually start out 2-5 degrees right. This has been a new issue since I've started SST. So today, I worked on my irons AW-5iron trying to get my usual shape back. I didn't want SST to get in the way of today's practice, so I saved the Super Speed Training to the end. I was able to get the starting line to be to the right as I desired, but I was still drawing the ball too much resulting in missed to the left 5-20 yards depending on the club. Something I will need to keep working on to make sure SST doesn't result in a setback for my swing. When I got to the SST part of the practice, I took 20 driver swings before and after. Quick result: 139 mph average before. 144 mph after. Both before and after numbers are down from last week, but could be the fact that it was 'leg' day this morning and my legs were still pretty weak from the morning workout.
  18. I'm tyringEvenflow Riptide 60 Stiff with my Mavrik driver. I was using the other stock shaft Aldila Rogue 130 White 60 S this season.
  19. May you keep it in the fairway in 2022!!!
  20. Oops. I just bought "Like New" Mitsubishi MMT 60 Callaway tipped stiff driver shaft for $63 free shipping. X-Mas gift to self who didn't get any golf related gift. Saved Xtra from free coupon checking thing Edge browser did.
  21. I've never fretted about grinds perhaps because I'm not quite good enough to know how different grinds come into play. I have stock CBX2 which don't have grind options. I think for me it's pretty simple. 50 (GW/AW) is a full shot club for me. For SW and LW, I need heel relief as I will need to open up the face on occasion on bunkers and in the greenside rough. Anything else, I wouldn't even know what I would use it for. What would I do with toe relief? I never play a shot where I close the clubface. Low bounce? I don't carry a low bounce wedge. With tight lies, I would never play anything fancy. I play the ball in further back in my stance taking the bounce away and try to make ball first contact. I suppose I would care more about the bounce/grinds if I had arsenal of wedge shots I can play/execute. OR I could just be missing out on making wonderful shots because I don't have the right bounce/grinds.
  22. My wish list changes often. Since GC3 is only a dream at this point, I've got my eyes on Blast Motion swig sensor. I would use it for indoor putting practice.
  23. I picked Callaway. No reason than I hope it is. That way, I can try my collection of optifit shafts on the Callaway head. I don't need another collection of shafts with Taylormade or Cobra hosels
  24. 2021 Accomplishments Practiced regularly. At least twice a week Maintain single digit handicap. I was able to do that for about 6 weeks. Break personal best.
