  1. I've heard that from a few people and so far my experience has been great.
  2. I spoke to some recently and discovered he had worked for a VA clinic near me and naturally the subject of military service came up. He asked if I received any VA service, and I told him I did not and didn’t think I qualified. He assured me I did. So I went to the clinic, applied for service disability hearing loss. I was asked to schedule a hearing test just over a month later. I had the test, and I was told to expect a 6-8 week wait for any further action. Then in just over two weeks I received a letter stating the VA accepted responsibility due to my MOS for 50% of my hearing loss in each ear and 10% of my tinnitus and the VA is going to pay me a monthly stipend. I was, and still am, shocked since it took so little time to process the data and since it’s been so long since I got out of the Army in ’74.
  3. If you vote in person thank a poll worker. I worked the polls for the first time this past Tuesday and wow, what a long day. Onsite at 6AM and we didn’t leave until after 7PM and we couldn’t leave the polling place during the day. Everyone I worked with was happy to be there and happy to help people and it was a great experience. I would do it again and may get a chance next month. I should be rested by them.
  4. I ordered something a few days ago and received an email from the shipper this morning that it was flagged as “out for delivery “via UPS. The same email also stated if I had not received the item within two days to notify the customer service department. They apparently know UPS and its delivery issues well if the package is marked as out for delivery and the actual delivery can take two days or longer.
  5. Looks like the Vols missed the bus for the trip.
  6. Yep, although DHL seems consistent across the US. Consistently bad.
  7. In my area UPS is by far the worst delivery service. It isn't a close competition. USPS is number one, FedEx is in a close second and UPS isn't even ranked.
  8. 55° (feels like 54°) clear sunny skies, 7-8 MPH breeze and a projected high of 74°. Over the next seven days next Wednesday is predicted to be the coldest day with a high of chilly 63°
  9. Looks like that is still available as standalone grip. Thanks.
  10. I'd like to hold a Edel to see the grip. The Jumbo Max may be the way to go .
  11. I didn't know Superstroke made round putter grips. I've only seen the flat front grips.
  12. I picked up a new Odyssey putter at Dick's and it had a round grip that seemed somewhat oversized and I liked it, not enough to buy the putter, but I liked the grip. Does anyone know of any round putter grips other than Edel? Or any aftermarket round putter grips?
  13. I just finished Bone Rattle by Marc Cameron and I discovered it's a series, though not one that needs to be read in any particular order. Now I have to read the other books.
  14. I have wide feet and I've found Skechers fit me the best.
  15. So for a high handicapper it really doesn't matter much which ball is used as long as it's the same ball?

    North Atlanta

How far from north/northeast side of Atlanta? I play in Royston, which is north on I85 from Atlanta.
  17. Even pre-Covid I thought the water stations on golf courses were five-gallon petri-dishes and I didn’t like drinking from them, and I don’t like to carry a lot of water bottles. So, I had an Osprey 3L bladder (like a CamelBak if you are familiar with those) and I carry the Osprey for water. It fits in the long pocket of my golf bag, and I run the drinking straw to the top of the golf bag, and I have water within easy reach. In the summer I keep a gallon of water in the refrigerator overnight to cool. Then on golf day I pack the Osprey with ice and then fill it with the cool water when I get to the course. In non-summer months I just pack the Osprey with ice and fill with water before I leave home. I walk quite a bit and since I have a BatCaddy the weight from the water isn’t an issue.
  18. That's an internet picture, although mine was that color.
  19. My first car, which I bought with tip money from working at a grocery store, was a '58 Chevy Delray.
  20. I did that across the top of my BatCaddy with some sticky back Velcro.
  21. I took my BatCaddy on its maiden voyage a year ago yesterday and I have put 497.88 miles on it since then.
  22. It's the second worst. When I was a kid I had to shovel coal into the furnace. I was happy when we switched to oil heat.
  23. At one point during a game, the coach called one of his 9-year-old baseball players aside, and asked, "Do you understand what cooperation is? What a team is?" "Yes, coach", replied the little boy." Do you understand what matters are whether we win or lose together as a team?" The little boy nodded in the affirmative. "So," the coach continued, "I'm sure you know, when an out is called, you shouldn't argue, curse the umpire, or call him a jerk. Do you understand all that?" Again, the little boy nodded in the affirmative. The coach continued, "And when I take you out of the game so that another boy gets a chance to play, it's not a stupid decision or that the coach is a butt head is it?" "No, coach." "Good!", said the coach. "Now go over there and explain all that to your grandmother!”
