Just amazingly bad you’re having to go through all of this.  I’m 70 but didn’t need glasses until around the age if 50.  My first 3 times I went to LensCrafters and bought glasses thru them when they ran specials.  Everything was good.

About the 4th time thru LensCrafters I had a late appt, like around 5:30.  The optometrist thought he was done before me and was really pissed to see me.  He rushed through the process but I walked out with the script because we had heard good things thru Costco.  So I bought from Costco.  They were “off”.  So I paid about $80 for the Costco optometrist to redo the script.  They sent the glasses back with the new script and they didn’t charge me a second time for the new set.

The next time, I found a good optometrist in GA, asked before the appt if I’d be able to walk out with the cops riot so I could “shop” for glasses.  They looked at me like I had 2 heads and said “of course”.  All was good and I bought the glasses again thru Costco.

Last year I had a pretty severe eye issue related to Covid.  Couldn’t see the previous doc but did get in to his partner.  Had a 10am apot and he was running an hour late.  Finally taken to a room with his tech, spent 20 minutes answering her questions and she took a ton of notes.  Then waited another 1/2 hr. Dr. Tiktoc walks in and asks “what’s up?”.  Never bothered to review the notes.  Totally blew me off.  Told me to use Blink eyedrops instead of Systane, then patted himself on the back.  Said he didn’t need to run any tests and no need to put ‘chemicals” in my eyes.  Told me next time to come in immediately.  I told him I tried but their phones were down.  His tech told him they have phone issues.  I said then I’ll just come in without an appt and he said “no” and walked out.  The tech whispered - yes, just come in, we always save spots for emergencies.

I called my PCP for a recommendation and he referred me to a group in Athens that was wonderful.  Ran lots of tests, prescribed Xiidra which I ended up getting free. Took 6 weeks fir my eyes to get back to normal.   So just had my eyes checked, walked out with the new script and again bought thru Costco.

What group do you see in Athens?

Your taking about the Falcons, just look at their franchise history.

Yep. And it's a sad history the Falcons came into the league in 1966 and Mike Smith, hired in 2008, was the first coach to have back-to-back winning seasons.

Atlanta Falcons supposedly in final negotiations to hire Rams DC Raheem Morris as their HC who previously served on the Falcons staff.  Not sure if this is good, bad, or just a punt.

    Raheem Morris:

4-7 as the Falcons interim head coach.

17-31 as Tampa Bay head coach.

21-38 as a career head coach.

But the players that played for him like and support him and he has two Super Bowl rings. So maybe, hopefully, he is the right guy at the right time.

You left a lot unsaid, and I expanded on it, any problem with that?

You took my literal quote and inserted your comments and suggestions.

Create your own posts with your own thoughts and don't expand on mine.

I’m a fan of EVs, but charging on long trips will add some time (10%) to your total trip time, let’s not suggest there’s no difference. I gave the example before, my trip home in an ICE is 11 hour driving with 1 hour stopping for food, gas and bathrooms, so 12 hours total. In an EV it’s 11 hours driving with 2 hours high speed charging, and we take care of food and bathroom breaks while charging, so 13 hours total. Fortunately Tesla chargers are always near food and or bathrooms. And with over 22,000 Tesla high speed chargers in the US, I have yet to need to find some other charger…

…Destination chargers at grocery stores, restaurants or hotels are almost always quite a bit slower - hours typically, not “10-15 minutes.” Often not well maintained either and store employees aren’t much help. Not good for trip planning. Buc-ee’s are a notable exception, but we don’t all have them in our states.

OTOH I never lose ANY time to gas up in every day driving. I charge at home and I can have a full tank of electrons every morning with zero travel/wait time if I want to. I take less than a half dozen trips a year that force me to charge away from home.

Where did I suggest "there’s no difference."

And I didn't say “10-15 minutes.”  I said "usually 10-15 minutes" and that's been my experience.

  6. Planning trips in the Tesla is a breeze. Charging stops are usually 10-15 minutes, about the same amount of time it would take me to fill up the ICE and visit the restroom. And Tesla has the best charging infrastructure of all the EV manufactures, which is why a, sadly, number of them are switching to the Tesla connector soon.

I did take a trip to Murphy, NC and there were plenty of free chargers in only one location in town, although they were slow.

The best charging stations are Buc-ee's and they have a number of chargers at each location.

Just curious as how y'all feel about the environmental impact of EVs? Cobalt and lithium mining create as much if not more pollution than petroleum and battery disposal will be a nightmare. I fully understand the need to get away from petro, however are EVs the ultimate answer? Curious to hear the opinions of those more educated on the issue.

I have a 2023 Tesla Model 3 and the battery uses zero cobalt.

Mahomes complaining about the refs is comedic irony at it's finest...

And now Mahomes' wife has jumped into it. And Reid says they should have been "warned" about the possibility of a penalty. The ref said the linesman was so far offside they couldn't see the ball.

Maybe Taylor Swift can write a song about it and go on the Kansas City Chiefs Crybaby tour.

What a game in Auburn, and the Tide pulls one out of thin air. On the 10th anniversary of the “Kick 6” too, no less. I remember in the weeks following that game that Malzahn was taking over the SEC, the game had passed Saban by and he would probably leave for Texas or the NFL. Since then:

3 National Titles, 6 SEC Titles

    113-13 record

    8-2 vs Auburn

    9-1 vs Tennessee

    8-2 vs LSU

    5-1 vs UGA

That was a good game, maybe the best one of the day. I was surprised Auburn didn't put more pressure on the QB on that last play and gave the guy so much time.

Different strokes I guess. I don't like stores that hover or ask you every time they see you, 'can I help you.' If I need help, I ask, and I've never been disappointed. YMMV

I agree, I don't like a store that hovers over customers and I don't like someone to follow me around like I'm going to stick a driver down my pants. But, it is nice to be at least acknowledged.
