Are either of you excited about Ridder? I just can't get excited about him at all. Really hoping he's the answer though, would be nice to be relevant again.

Yes and for a couple of reasons. One being he isn't Mariota. Ridder was 2-2 last year, but naming him the starter early means the team should practice and build the game plan around him.

It would be nice if he is the answer, but I think the Birds need more help than one guy, unfortunately.

It's been a very busy week for me, so just getting around to posting this....

Our youngest daughter graduated with her Master's degree last weekend. The insane thing to me was she was able to get her Bachelor's in 3 years and only took an additional year for her Master's, which she accomplished while working part time and playing club volleyball. She's a hard worker and a bright girl. Her degree is an MPA and her focus was urban development/planning, if I recall correctly. No real job prospects right now, but she waits tables at a decent restaurant and makes a livable amount of money, especially if she starts picking up more shifts. The perfect job will come.

With that, our tuition payments are done. We were able to get both daughters through debt-free, which was our goal. Now I feel like I need to join a fancy country club with our newly-available disposable income. Would be nice, but we have a couple remodeling projects in mind that will take priority over my golf.

Congratulations to your daughter and you!

My daughter’s story is similar. She worked part time while going to school and during the summers she worked two jobs. It took her two years to get her Master’s, but during that time she had two kids and trained for and ran three 10Ks and a half marathon.

We also got her out of school debt free. A great feeling for both of us.

Finally Safelight is coming to replace my daughters windshield and rear window.

For those not up to speed. She was parked in front of her dorm. Which is near the baseball field. She was away at a track meet in Myrtle Beach. She got a text that night. Her car was hit not on eve, not twice, not three times but four times.

Of course the school is not responsible. Yet, no warning signs, no nets, and she was parked legally in front of her dorm.

Two went through the back window, one bounced off the building and took out the windshield and the fourth was a straight drop on to the hood.

You would think the school would have safety measures in place. The dorm buildings are only two years old. Either they shouldn’t have built them that close or you put up a barrier net.

That's crazy. What if she had been getting into or loading\unloading the car? She would have been a target.

  4. A neighbor and I went to the NCAA Women’s Regional golf tournament at UGA today. We were only there a few hours, but we saw some pretty good golf. I think we may have been the only spectators there just to watch. Everyone else watching seemed to have an association with a player.

The first group out and looking over the green towards the tee box on 13.

.... So I told him that medium and lower class families would do their best sticking to football or basketball for their children. As that seems to be a better fit for them. Not sure how else I could’ve sugar coated it. With the price of things today. Golf is really a luxury item. And maybe it is only meant for some types of clientele. Hope i didn’t sound too rude

Yeah, keep those lower and middle class families (like me) where they belong and off your golf course.

What a coincidence, I was just getting ready to post something about Lockwood Folly.  In April I'm going with a group of 20.  Lockwood is a new addition for courses.  Be the first time most of us are playing it, and it is on the last day. So our " handicapped championship" (there is no monetary prize only your name on the cup) will come down to Lockwood.  I've been trying to look at it on Google Earth.  Is it as narrow as it seems?  And I have plotted (based on google earth) several holes where it seems to me(that for me) less than driver off the tee would be wise.  Any further information on it would be great.    I'm kind of afraid that this course loosely resembles River Hills CC down there, and I watered 7 balls at River Hills, and mentally collapsed.  I want to be prepared in case I find myself in contention.

Did you play Lockwood Folly? How was it?

  7. I walk in Georgia heat and humidity, and I use an 3L Osprey water bladder I keep in the big pocket of my golf bag. I use it year around, but when it gets hot, I fill a gallon jug with water and keep it in the fridge overnight, then the morning I play I fill the bladder with ice and when I get to the course I fill the bladder with the cool water. The rest of the year I just fill the bladder with ice and water the day I play.

The bladder, besides providing water, also serves other uses. I keep my snacks next to it and it keeps them from melting, and I carry a cooling towel in the summer and the towel stays nice and cool next to the bladder of ice.

Sorry my friend, but the Coons will never have a great team.

    You may be correct.

I used to think the Falcons were pathetic because of the Smith family and I was glad when they sold the team to Blank. It seemed initially Blank was determined to build a winning team. Then he built the unneeded and unnecessary stadium and he, sadly, seems to have lost all interest in the Falcons.

    Although I can still hope.

Any other Falcons fans here? I’m biased but LOVE how this team has been constructed over the last few seasons with AS / TF at the helm.

Really love the Calais Campbell signing - could be a great presence for the young guys this season.  Here’s hoping we make a splash and grab Carter or Anderson to complete this defensive rebuild!

Yeah, I'm a Falcons fan. Hopefully Campbell is a good fit.

And this year for the first time in awhile that have salary money they can spend. The draft should be interesting.

Playing Solo.  I wanted to get your thoughts on playing by yourself?  Do you like it?  Do you do it out of necessity?  Do you think its weird?  Years ago I used to get up early and be the first one out on Tewksbury CC before the place even opened.  I mean like I would pay after my round.  I was by myself and could walk the 9 holes in about 60-75 min.  I loved it!  Do any of you do anything like that?

I don't think it's weird. I play the majority of rounds by myself. I can play at my own pace., Although, sometimes I wish there was someone to see the shot I made, but most of the time I'm glad there wasn't a witness.

Ditched the IONIQ5 and got myself a Tesla. Wife was having too much fun.

I picked up a gray M3 last Tuesday. I wanted a 3 and I wasn’t sure if my BatCaddy would fit in the back, so when I went for the test drive I took it with me to test fit. It did fit, easily.

This is the first drive to the course with BatCaddy and clubs,
