  1. If you vote in person thank a poll worker.

I worked the polls for the first time this past Tuesday and wow, what a long day. Onsite at 6AM and we didn’t leave until after 7PM and we couldn’t leave the polling place during the day.

Everyone I worked with was happy to be there and happy to help people and it was a great experience. I would do it again and may get a chance next month. I should be rested by them.

  2. I ordered something a few days ago and received an email from the shipper this morning that it was flagged as “out for delivery “via UPS. The same email also stated if I had not received the item within two days to notify the customer service department.

They apparently know UPS and its delivery issues well if the package is marked as out for delivery and the actual delivery can take two days or longer.

Besides Edel I remember Tour Edge made a round grip for a while, the SphereTac I think it was. Not sure if you can buy it on it's own though, I think it came with their putters.

Looks like that is still available as standalone grip. Thanks.

Superstroke has some round ones. That is probably the simplest or easiest to find.

I didn't know Superstroke made round putter grips. I've only seen the flat front grips.

  5. I picked up a new Odyssey putter at Dick's and it had a round grip that seemed somewhat oversized and I liked it, not enough to buy the putter, but I liked the grip.

Does anyone know of any round putter grips other than Edel? Or any aftermarket round putter grips?

... The golf ball as an important piece of your equipment just like any other in your bag. Would anyone switch putters of different styles and lengths during a round? Like the ball, the putter does the same thing with similar loft but different materials and/or face inserts. Would you play the rest of your round with a x-flex TSR4 driver you "found in the woods" on the 11th hole when you normally play a Ping G425 with a r-flex?

... I think part of the criteria for some is they are so inconsistent so the ball really doesn't matter. I would make the argument some of their inconsistency comes from playing different balls. We all understand that a fat shot isn't gonna be any different with a Velocity or a ProV1. But what you are trying to do with your golf ball is have consistency with your well struck shots even if that is only a handful per 18 holes and you simply can't do that playing different golf balls. Now an 18 index probably can't tell any difference between a TP5, TP5x or even a Tour Response but they can tell a difference between those balls and a TM Distance + or a Callaway Supersoft. The goal for every player is to hit good shots and even if you hit 4 a round, you know what they look like and can try and repeat them if you use the same ball for every round.

So for a high handicapper it really doesn't matter much which ball is used as long as it's the same ball?

  7. Even pre-Covid I thought the water stations on golf courses were five-gallon petri-dishes and I didn’t like drinking from them, and I don’t like to carry a lot of water bottles. So, I had an Osprey 3L bladder (like a CamelBak if you are familiar with those) and I carry the Osprey for water. It fits in the long pocket of my golf bag, and I run the drinking straw to the top of the golf bag, and I have water within easy reach.

In the summer I keep a gallon of water in the refrigerator overnight to cool. Then on golf day I pack the Osprey with ice and then fill it with the cool water when I get to the course.

In non-summer months I just pack the Osprey with ice and fill with water before I leave home.

I walk quite a bit and since I have a BatCaddy the weight from the water isn’t an issue.

  8. At one point during a game, the coach called one of his 9-year-old baseball players aside, and asked,
"Do you understand what cooperation is? What a team is?"
"Yes, coach", replied the little boy."
Do you understand what matters are whether we win or lose together as a team?"
The little boy nodded in the affirmative.
"So," the coach continued, "I'm sure you know, when an out is called, you shouldn't argue, curse the umpire,
or call him a jerk. Do you understand all that?"
Again, the little boy nodded in the affirmative.
The coach continued, "And when I take you out of the game so that another boy gets a chance to play,
it's not a stupid decision or that the coach is a butt head is it?"
    "No, coach."
"Good!", said the coach. "Now go over there and explain all that to your grandmother!”

Not a huge Falcons fan, but they did their usual. 16 point lead and lost!

I’m a big Falcons fan and I had season tickets for years. The did better against the Saints than I expected, but the result wasn’t a surprise. I can’t imagine wasting a lot of time on the games this year.

Like my old boss used to say ,“the Falcons managed to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.”
