  1. Congrats testers. Very interested to hear your thoughts on this one.
  2. Obviously Scottie is hard to bet against and if he is putting well, watch out. I think Hovland is the guy to watch out for. He has been pretty hot and so close in majors. This could the one where he finally gets the job done.
  3. These irons look clean! Thanks for the pics. I look forward to hear your thoughts.
  4. So are the tours merging or are they still going to operate separately with their own unique rules?
  5. Congrats testers. I look forward to hearing from you as I’m in the market for a new push cart!
  6. I say this as someone who frequently has sunflower seeds on the course. They should be spit nowhere near the green. That’s disrespecting the course. I typically spit shells out in the rough or a bottle. People leave enough broken tees on the tee box, we don’t need to add sunflower seed shells to that disaster.
  7. I should add, I hooked my drive on the next hole OB. How fitting…
  8. Got my first eagle yesterday, and it was real close to being an albatross. 520 yard par 5 with a front pin location, so probably playing about 505 or so. Hit a great drive about 270 that put me in the right fairway. Followed that up with my driving iron for about 236 that I thought initially could have been in the hole. Morning dew was still on the ground, so I saw it rolled a foot to the right of the pin. Sunk the 3 footer for eagle. Should have gotten a picture to show the path in the dew, but I was so giddy about getting my first eagle and was really just trying to lock in to make the putt and it never crossed my mind.
  9. I have my account linked up with my GHIN and posting scores to The Grint automatically posts to my handicap. My club requires a GHIN for tournaments and league, so it works out pretty well. I use the free version of The Grint app on my apple watch, and I think it works really well.
  10. Update based on my round yesterday. Driver: Straight and long. Trending up. Approach: Worked really hard on correcting the hook, it did come out once but didn't hurt me too bad, good up and down for par. Flat Short Game: Nothing special here, ups and downs. Had a couple of very good rescue shots that I was proud of, but also had some pretty messy routine chips. Flat Putting: It was atrocious yesterday. Lag putts were really bad. Trending down.
  11. Driver: Has always been a strength for me and that is probably only getting better for me. Trending up. Approach: I'm really struggling with a hook/over draw. It's starting to mess with my mental game. Trending down. Short Game: Always been a struggle for me, but doing ok right now. Flat Putting: Usually pretty good at 2 putting but have been working hard to get better within 12 feet and I'm still not sinking putts like I would like to. Flat
  12. It really depends on the durability of the ball and the kind of conditions I put it through (how many times does it hit a tree or cart path). Some I will play for a couple rounds before they are too worn and I start using them as practice balls. I don't think I'm too picky when it comes to the condition of the ball, I expect about 3 rounds from a ball assuming I don't lose it before then. As far as playing certain balls around hazards, I don't let the thought of losing my ball determine which ball I use. If I think about the water hazard, I will hit into the water hazard.
  13. How long have you been playing golf? What’s your handicap or normal score? Been playing golf since 2021. I had played maybe a couple rounds of golf a year since 2010 with friends and family, but bought my first set of clubs and really started playing in 2021. Started with a 27 handicap in 2021 and got it down to an 11 from 25 last year. Sitting at 10.5 with a goal of getting to a 7 by the end of the year. Typically shoot between 80-86. What do you love about golf? I love the challenge, keeps your competitive drive alive. Also nothing better than the pure bliss you experience from a great shot. Nothing frees the mind better than walking 18 in the morning. What brings you to MyGolfSpy? Do you already know any other Spies? I had lurked for a bit, but MGS got my attention when I was looking to purchase my first set of clubs. I don't know of anyone else here. Where are you from? What is your home course? I've lived in Southeastern Nebraska my whole life. York Country Club is my home course, it's a nice little track. What are the best and worst things about golf in your region? Right now, the worst thing is the wind. It doesn't keep me from golfing, but it can be pretty brutal at times. I like to play a lot of different courses, it's nice that there are a lot of decent courses to chose from here. What do you do for a living? I'm an accountant for a utility company. How’d you pick your user name? My name is Jared. 3 has always been my go to number for jersey numbers or usernames and D-Wade was my favorite basketball player growing up.
