  1. If I got this I’m guessing it wouldn’t make sense for me to have my pressure trainers? ya think I’m (we’re) missing out by buying this and not having trainers?
  2. https://puttout.golf/products/airbreak Anyone tested or have an opinion on this from the good ole Puttout boys? I currently have a pro advanced Matt that allegedly allows me to adjust it to 4 different stimps, and add slopes by putting styrofoam underneath the Matt lol. I also have platinum pressure trainers at each end of it. Curious as to if folks think the new output thing is a significant upgrade over what I got
  3. Ahoy! Came across this new training aid (straight shot) and was wondering if anyone had heard of or had thoughts on it. I’ve got the Laf Shot triple threat and would be curious as to if this would be better than, less than, or equal to that? It’s marketed as a 3-1 training aid it has weights to help create lag and keep you in line on the ideal swing path while also having a grip feature. It also has a mechanism where you get a sound when you’ve hit it perfectly and a mechanism to control your club face. I’m new to golf, so any appraisals would be much appreciated! https://www.performancegolf.com/straight-stick/google-search/info-sc-b?utm_medium=cpc&utm_source=search-ecomm&utm_campaign=do-tsst&utm_term=19976478608&utm_content=654954312198&sxid={adid}&gclid=CjwKCAjw__ihBhADEiwAXEazJmjUQZW7ht8b4SK-17X3PVs8U5ax9bdr0CQpwYeU_bcE5KV4QDh4JhoCiXQQAvD_BwE&gc_id=19976478608&h_ad_id=654954312198&gad=1&gclid=CjwKCAjw__ihBhADEiwAXEazJmjUQZW7ht8b4SK-17X3PVs8U5ax9bdr0CQpwYeU_bcE5KV4QDh4JhoCiXQQAvD_BwE
  4. Anyone given this a shot? Worth it/not worth it? I have tons of grip/forearms developing machines at home, but was curious as to if I had to use an individual routine with the squeeze? Or, if I can just throw it on the 4 SS clubs I have, do the club routine, and then just get the benefit that way?
  5. Yo, yo, yo. I was curious, because Garmin customer support has told me different things regarding these topics: A-S62 Swing Tempo Trainer: There is it is not a way to use it without hitting a ball and Just using air swings? B-TruSwing: I know Garmin discontinued it, but I found a few available and was wondering if it would be worth the $50. I have a R10, CT10 sensors and the S62 so I’m fine with data. The interest comes from me hearing I can get a few more analytics from TruSwing that I don’t have, plus, I can get an image of what. My swing looks like with this? Also, anyone knows if I can only uses truswing while hitting balls, or will air swings work?
  6. PuttOut Large Golf Putting Mat, 144.5 inches x 26.4 inches Purchased 4 months ago and used 6 times. Located in Glenside PA but will ship. $90 OBO
  7. Gotcha! Only thing is, my old lady wants my Matt confined to the basement concrete floors. Not to mention a 12x 3 mat would be tough to move regardless. The logic here is that the more speeds/stumps I can get used to, the better I’ll be. I’ll be joining a CC soon, but I still assume that green speeds can vary (greatly?) per hole. And the guy himself said that seasonal changes can influence them as well. Which leads me to this. I’m think I MAY have found what I’m looking for, the Varispeed: https://www.amazon.com/VariSpeed-Putting-System-Practice-Different/dp/B01ND1OIME?source=ps-sl-shoppingads-lpcontext&ref_=fplfs&psc=1&smid=A1JG162COFTAIC Seems to be some trade off though: while the varispeed has adjustable stimp from 7-14 and putout is a permanent 10, the mat is smaller. 10ft x 20 inches and I’d be replacing my puttout mat that is 12x3 ft. I also see the puttout mat frequently on “best mat” lists, but not so much for varispeed. Am I overrating the benefits of varying speeds or should I swap the mat?
  8. More or less. Ive heard that Matt is better than the putout one because I can play around with the stimp. So since every course has holes that are different in stimp, wouldn’t it make sense to train at different ones?
  9. Hi gang, Maybe this is a lousy idea-admittedly This is after a Night of drinking. But would it make any sense at all to junk the 12x 3 puttout Matt I have, and pair the 2 puttout trainers I have with the perfect practice perfect Putting Matt? Read the stimp is adjustable on that vs what I have, and thus can provide more effective training. Comments about what a moron I am, or better alternatives strongly encouraged.
  10. Thankss all for the advice! Brought a buddy of mine who’s knowledgeable and ended up with a Ping 425max + Ping G425 3W! Just had 2 more questions for you, and let me know if I sound like a moron: A- My average driver club head speed was 105 (hit 111 at least 1x). From what I’m told, I wanna stick with stiff shafts until I hit 111 consistently, then go with extra stiff? B- like any other schmuck meat head who stumbled upon golf, I’m infatuated with driving the ball great distances, and recognize at least some of why people can do that is due to speed. So I bought the superspeed training stuff. I also heard that there’s a certain loft number the long driver Pros use-4 or 5 degree lofts specifically. I was curious as to if anyone carried a lo mg-drive club in their bag and either used it occasionally. Or, brought it to the range and used that vs their regular driver with the idea that training with it would carry over to their normal (and more accurate) driver?
  11. Went to my local CC, got too swing a Callaway Rogue (not sure model/year) which per the pro is the Big Bertha’s big brother. Felt much lighter and went much further that my Top Flite driver. And the reason is swung it is because yesterday my Driver and today my 3W Both broke while swinging. Where the shaft and club actually meet. The pro claims I hit the ball all of the place on the club so that’s partially to blame, but also I bought my Top Flite clubs (maybe used) in later 2020, so that might be to blame too. So I’m not sure I’m ready to buy that Callaway yet as I’m not sure if my swing is breaking my clubs, or the brand/age is the reason, So my thought is too be cheap ones now to get me through 2022. Then, after winter training, I’m hopefully good enough to buy “real” clubs next year. I just don’t know what to look for specs wise, and I understand feel playa a big factor. But my driver says 4600cc and 10.5, I have no idea what that means, or how to interpret diff specs when evaluating clubs. Any help? Much obliged as when it comes to clubs, I know how to ID them, and what to use when, but. Nothing About about specs for any!
  12. Sure seems like that last Paragraph is right! Thanks for all the Help!
  13. Gotcha! Thanks for all the advice guys. Last few questions: a-Any sites to look at for used clubs? b-any brands to focus on or avoids?
  14. Thanks all! Last 2 questions: A-I’m told your irons and at least one wedge needs to match the irons, I’m curious as to why that is and why my drivers/woods/hybrids can all be different from each other? B-I’ll try some clubs in person, beyond Facebook market place, anyone have good suggestion on online places to look for used clubs?
  15. Thannkss! Lastly, I believe the 3 club types if you will-beginner/intermediate/pro- if I’m an intermediate (I think) and I plan on playing for a while (I’m 34) would there be a con in my just jumping up to pro clubs and skipping intermediate? Logic being eventually I’ll grow into it, so why spend the $ on a band ask? Curious as to what the cons would be?
  16. Gotcha! Thanks for the answer! Yeah I think my boy saying ppl would look at my clubs was Partially a snob thing, but also partially a “ugh he’s a beginner look at those clubs we don’t wanna play with him” thing. And is mixing and match a no-no? I.E. titleist bag, Calloway driver, mixed irons etc? Also, is having a different brand (and color) bag than what your clubs are a no-no? I noticed You mentioned Facebook market place being ok, EBay would be too? And is my friend onto something when he says buy from a CC?
  17. Hi All, So I’ve been playing since 2020, and am falling In love with the sport! I’m probably a 30 HCP, and am seriously considering going a country club. So I have been using Top Flite clubs : https://www.googleadservices.com/pagead/aclk?sa=L&ai=DChcSEwjVrMSx__n5AhUbKbMAHdgyBCgYABALGgJ5bQ&ohost=www.google.com&cid=CAASJeRo7fm8b872J6oNXyAB4ceoIbnTSldekY0GNFq3NcZ9eeGZUdE&sig=AOD64_2tkRf7Apgrc1EPXXTrxuR0rTCqJw&ctype=5&q=&ved=2ahUKEwiRpLex__n5AhXjF1kFHUI4Db4Qwg8oAHoECAQQCg&adurl= My buddy, who is a long time country club guy, is saying I probably need to upgrade clubs or at least my bag as folks will roll their eyes if they see me with beginner clubs. Apparently beginner clubs are more forgiving but I don’t hit the ball as far by using them. Curious as to how one would know if/when they have graduated from beginners? Any advice on what I should get or look for-bands, key words-I’d be obliged. I know zero about clubs. I’ve also heard eBay/Facebook marketplace/country clubs them selves are good places to look. Logic being is the season will be over soon here in PA, and clubs have members that sell them to the CC as the Members buy a new set every year.
  18. Hi! Anyone have a “target number list per club” for the number ranges you should aim for based on all the stats the Garmin provides?
  19. Based off this quote: ”club speed is 105 with 148 ball speed. That gives you a smash factor of 1.41 which means you aren’t getting all you can out of your current speed.” And what you said about my attack angle, assuming those 2 stats (attack angle and smash factor) are we Able to venture a guess as to how many yards I’m missing out on if corrected?
  20. Thanks @cnosil and @Samsonite! Excellent answers and levels of detail! While I’m at it, here’s what’s else I’m able to measure, can I get further similar explanations and desired target ranges as well? Thanks again for Educating a schmuck golfer!
  21. Thannkss! This off-season will be a BIG one for me! Really hoping to make a TON of progress!
  22. So you’re saying that the 160mph my R10 has picked up with my Lag Driver is theoretically correct in that I swung it that fast. But incorrect in thinking that would equate to a 160mph with a real driver? So I’d be able to swing a lag shot faster than the equivalent actual club? I haven’t used them to increase speed, only tempo + contact. Although if you google lag shot and speed it does mention increased swing speed. Haven’t seen numbers on it though and I want using mainly for that. I just saw the speed numbers and got excited is all. So someone, maybe you, mentioned that my numbers in addition to club head Speed indicated that my contact might be off? I’m new to all of this data stuff, what should the ratios be and how can I tell if they’re off/right? What should I shoot for? Thanks all for feedback:help!
