  1. Does the standard FS Mevo + 2023 edition come with “Closest to the Pin” challenge? Or do you have to purchase an upgraded version of E6 Connect? Thank you for any information
  2. I think the majority of golfers don’t buy gloves on brand, they buy them on price and durability. It’s someone that we purchase often. Main things that I’m looking for is good Velcro (because I’ve had Velcro stop working two rounds in), fit, and durability. As far as storage, I just throw them in my bag. Maybe Red Rooster can put a magnet in the strap for storage? Golfers can hang them on the cart like a rangefinder instead of stuffing it in their back pocket and sitting on it. Or hang it on their bag to a club or other metal part.
  3. I do different length backswings. Ie: 8 o’clock, 9 o’clock and try maintain the same club head speed. Maybe the swing just feels different because it’s more of a controlled swing, and I’m not driving shoulders as hard? I think I’m crazy. Lol Whatever I’m doing, it’s working. Broke 90 for the first time today. I did hit fat on a couple wedge shots but for the most part, definitely have a lot more control lately with them.
  4. “Different” is hard to explain as it’s more of a feeling. I guess it’s the feeling of engaging/driving the shoulders less as I don’t need the power? Never thought about choking up to fine tune the wedges. I guess I’m working on tuning too much to not suck haha
  5. As the title states, do you guys find yourself having a slightly different swing with your wedges than your 9 iron plus?
  6. Ok…. So I probably hit the driver about 300 times since this post. Did half swings at first just focusing on consistent contact and sequencing of my swing. Once I did that, I started focusing on the feeling of pulling the driver down at the start of my swing (Probably explained that horribly). I feel like my prior contact was swiped at the ball. I think i got my swing down now. Played today and actually took the driver out of the bag. Didn’t lose one ball. And was hitting consistently between 240-270 depending on if I was into the wind or not. I do very much appreciate all the responses from everyone. I’m not out of the woods yet (pun intended) but I’m on my way. This is what this site is all about. So thank you
  7. I was not fitted for a driver. And I am conscious of not trying to kill it. I mean, sometimes everyone swings to hard. Lol After these 45mph winds subside I’m gonna get out and do some of the stuff you guys recommended. And schedule lessons. I’ve got goals this season and the driver (tee box in general) is one of my struggling areas. That’s why I stopped using the driver in the first place on rounds. Was taking to many strokes out of the woods. Thank god for my 4 hybrid!!!! That’s my reliable club.
  8. This is great!! Nice job. If anyone is wondering, my birthday is coming up in May….
  9. I’ve been kicking around the idea of getting formal lessons. I have a guy I went to one time (a friend of a friend). Helped me tremendously and set me off into the right direction for sure. I’m very happy with my iron/hybrid swing. He is just over an hour away. And with two kids, a wife, and a full time job it ain’t easy getting there. Sure you guys know that. I’m in southern Ocean County, NJ. If anyone has any suggestions, let me know. If you can’t or don’t want to post instructors publicly in this thread, send me a P.M. I’m not afraid of putting in the work to square it away, for me it’s the best part.
  10. All good suggestions for sure. I’m gonna keep at it. I’m entertaining lessons for sure just haven’t pulled the trigger yet. I’ll look into the shaft. Have to do some research though about specific needs. Thanks to everyone for their responses. I’ll report back when I get it all squared away.
  11. Fujikura Armos S-Flex That I’m good at. Unfortunately, work is me tied up all weekend. I have worked a lot on sequencing with my irons. Have actually made a heck of a difference with them. Is the sequencing essentially the same with the driver? I feel like I swing the driver totally different than my irons.
  12. That’s it. My miss is all over the place. I started to make sure both my arms are straight at impact which I feel made it more consistent
  13. I’ll try. I thought about that. What I need to do is just post 5 consecutive swings and not just the good ones lol haha i think I’m on to something though.
  14. I have practiced religiously with my driver. ABSOLUTELY can not hit it no matter how hard I try. Every other club I can work out kinks and come up with some type of consistency, but this thing is being one stubborn SOB. Now that I think of it, not being able to hit it is a kind of consistent. Lol I don’t remember last time I hit it during an actual round. Anyone have any advice? Driver: Taylormade M4 stiff shaft Setup: Feet just wider then shoulder length, left shoulder slightly closed, right shoulder lower, ball on the inside of left ankle. Ball is right (off toe), left, topped, bombed (sometimes). I just wanna play the club I’m supposed to. Any advice, tips, drills, would be greatly appreciated. Thank you
  15. I went over to my local putting green. Last round (Sunday) I fell apart due to my chipping and short wedge shots. For about 2 hours I chipped balls, putted, and worked on some short wedge shots. Perks of the kids being in school, wife working, and being off during the week I guess. Working desperately to break 90. I’ll get there.
  16. I normally stretch a little and loosen up with some practice swings at home. If the course I’m going to doesn’t have a practice facility or fairway of some sorts, I hit balls at home to square away my swing. Since I’m not a morning person, I normally putt the night before in the basement on a practice green thing I have. Maybe crush a breakfast sandwich. That usually gases me up.
  17. I usually give back all the strokes I earned on the front 9 to the back 9 there…. Now that I think of it, I do that with every course haha. Spent 2 hours today working on chipping, putting, and shorter pitch shots. I gotta buy the county card for Atlantis.
  18. A long overdue introduction for me here. I’m from New Jersey. Let’s give this a shot. How long have you been playing golf? What’s your handicap or normal score? I started playing golf a little less than a year ago. I played a couple random outings over the years with my friend’s old hand me down set of clubs. Finally played an NFL Alumni outing (I’m not current or former NFL) with a couple guys who were REALLY good and out of my league, but it got me hooked. I’m currently a 19ish handicap and normally shoot in the mid to low 90s. I haven’t been playing long, but I’ve been working really hard to improve my game. What do you love about golf? I love the challenge of golf. It’s difficult, but normally if you’re doing something (ie: slicing, fat shots, etc.) there is a reason why and it and through focus and hard work, it’s fixable. Plus the rush of hitting a good shot isn’t bad either. Lol What brings you to MyGolfSpy? Do you already know any other Spies? I do not know any other spies. I am hear for knowledge and a community who loves the same game I do. I’ve been apart of similar forums in the past and know how important these communities are to the game/culture. Where are you from? What is your home course? I’m from NJ. Normally play Ocean Acres, Cedar Creek, Atlantis, and pretty much anywhere that’l let me on. What are the best and worst things about golf in your region? Winters make it difficult to practice. I have a set up in the garage I use too much according to the wife lol. What do you do for a living? For the sake of not getting yelled at, I’ll just say garbage man. Lol Current season goals: My goal for this year is to break 90 and hopefully be able to play consistent golf in the mid to upper 80s. Also, thank you to MGP and the moderators for having a resource like this and for the hard work that you do!
