  1. I originally sought some information when I returned to playing golf a couple of years ago but soon realized that golf lessons (like swings) are personal and cannot be “taught” sight unseen from YouTube. It can help if you are already knowledgeable about the golf swing but it’s still a one-sided endeavor. The more views and video gets, the more money the YouTuber gets, meanwhile your golf game will not improve. I watch it now for entertainment and to actually watch these content creators expose themselves as the “wannabe hacks” that they are. My son however, has been watching Rory McIlroy’s swing on YouTube and absorbing it through osmosis!!
  2. Get them while you can... they've signed Lexi Thompson (and are paying her) and are running ads with her on Golf Channel along with increased spots during LPGA/LET events. I'm sure there will be more endorsement deals too and the balls will get priced into the "ProV1" stratosphere...
  3. The liability was too much for our public golf course to endure. They have now all been sold off. There were too many incidents involving alcohol and sheer recklessness that the rental aspect was too much for the course to tolerate. We had a few idiots that decided bunker jumping might be a fun video to post to TikTok (or YouTube) so it caused a lot of damage to both the bunkers and bikes. There were several other incidents involving inexperience with the bikes but the worst was when a person rode the bike into the parking lot where another vehicle did not see them and hit them. Luckily, there were no serious injuries (knee scrapes) but suffice it to say, THAT was the final straw. The owner ended up selling them to a club member who has since sold several to other club members, so we do see them on our golf course but the liability is now theirs... but they are responsible people with a vested interest in our golf course.
  4. Our course (Cedar Creek GC in Albertville, MN) also uses the Finn Cycles... 20 of them (plus Yamaha carts).
  5. How long have you been playing golf? What’s your handicap or normal score? I was introduced to golf by my dad 51 years ago. I've played on-and-off over the years due to various circumstances but have also worked at 5 golf courses in California and Minnesota. My handicap used to be a 6 but now (at 62) having not played in 17 years, I imagine I couldn't break 100! What do you love about golf? I love the smells, the sounds, the thoughts (while walking to my shot)... and the challenge of the next shot. What brings you to MyGolfSpy? Do you already know any other Spies? I've been visiting the reviews for a while now and wanted to partake and I do not know any "spies"! Where are you from? What is your home course? I was born in Detroit, MI but have lived in Argentina, Arizona, California, Oregon, and now Minnesota. My home course is also my employer: Riverwood National GC in Otsego, MN. What are the best and worst things about golf in your region? The golf season in Minnesota is stunning (compared to burned out public golf courses of CA/AZ) but the downside are the brutally long winters. What do you do for a living? Composer for film and television and golf course employee. How’d you pick your user name? I was born with it...
