  1. Hello All! I am a 30 year old golfer, been playing for 3 years, mid 80s to low 90s player. Obsessed with this sport (I blame ADHD). my builder recently sent me a KM700 7i built with a axiom 105x at D2. I thought that the shaft would be too light, but after swinging it a few times, I thought, “wow I can really groove with this thing.” Fast forward to a few more range and sim sessions with it and overall I hit it really well, but sometimes thin when I get to fast. hence my question. I play a set of CB 302s with oban 115x shafts and overall groove them pretty well. Right now I’m going through a bit of an issue where I get chunky with them. I can’t tell if I’m bending my wrist too much, early releasing, etc. I am a pretty fast player. 7i is typically 92-97 mph. Moderate tempo but I can get too fast (hence the thinned shots). I am curious that if I move into an axiom, should I stick with the 105x or 125x? I understand this is subjective, thus I am looking for a consensus thought here. What have others who hit the same or similar shafts experienced with the axiom series? Better results with the 125 or 105?
  2. I'm always tinkering and curious about this exact question. What I have come to learn is that feel is the sole determinator of how well I will hit a club. Additionally, so much comes down to learning what is best for my body and my swing. Much to the dismay of my bank account, I have not done a traditional fitting in two years (though it is probably time I stop tinkering and just go get fit, and spend some time learning about my swing from someone else), and I have simply been testing out different clubs/sets with different shafts. I think that most recently I have found that there are some combinations that I just naturally hit more consistently than others. And I find that I dont have to work to hit my best shots. I simply just rotate and the dynamics of the club weight and my body produce the swing I am looking for. I am still fairly new to this sport (This will be my 3rd summer), thus I am still learning a ton. The benefit of this sport is that there will never be a point that I feel that I can completely understand it, and feel that I have "completed" this sport (which is extremely beneficial for my ADHD mind, as I tend to move on from Hobbies once I get very good at them, unless they accomplish some other continuing need that I have. The feeling is very similar to scratching an itch for those that do not have ADHD). I will provide a recent example: I recently purchased a TSR2 3 wood with a Tensai 1k Black 75x and Iomic standard grips with +2 tape. When I first picked up this club, I thought, "damn this is very head heavy. Probably too heavy and It is going to mess up my swing. I went ahead and purchased a tensai 1k orange 75x to bring the swing weight down, based on my belief that this club will be too heavy and I will end up chunking or topping the ball, really stemming from the change in my swing mechanics. Yesterday I went and hit at my local trackman location, and played around with taking the weight out, hitting the club and then adding it back in. Interestingly enough, for my swing, I found that once I added the weight back in, relaxed my body, and just swung the club, I had a higher smash factor and I felt that I was swinging "easier". I learned that even though this headweight feels much heavier, with where my swing is at in this moment, I am able to hit better shots. I suspect this is due to the fact that I can get to quick in my tempo, and many have described my swing as "too hard". I would love to be able to groove more swings, though saying swing easier and actually doing it are two different things. I guess I just haven't had that AHA moment yet. Though this experience has shed some light into how head weight matters for my my swing. And I do not know if it translates to my other clubs yet, thus I am going to continue to experiment.
  3. So here’s the ultimate question (at least for me). who here prefers the softer feel of the Srixon zx7 over a set of miuras? The jury is out for me personally. The thwack of puring a miura is a beautiful sound, and the feel is very solid on contact. The Srixon ZX7 is more of a butter melting into the face super soft feeling. The ball feels like it compresses and jumps off the face. What’s your experience?
  4. I’m carrying my 7i 190. It’s insane. As Time has gone on I’ve fallen more in love and bought a set of 623CBs. They are just that good. Best thing ever. In fact I have a set of new levels for sell. I wanted to try a heavier shaft and it didn’t work. Back to the 105s. They are in the BST PAGE
  5. Selling a set of New Level 902PD P-6/902OS 4-5 shafted with Modus 125 stiff, Tour Wrap std Black grips, D2 weighting. Bought from Nixhex and they just didn’t work for me. About 5 rounds on them. In perfect shape. Standard loft lie and length asking $500 plus shipping
  6. Bump. Very curious to hear your thoughts on the differences between these shafts
  7. Alright. Just got done with my round. The 902-PD are insanely good. The 902PD compared to ZX5s is like night and day. they are more forgiving while carrying longer distances. They definitely feel a little lighter in the hand. They cut through turf incredibly well. The accuracy is point and shoot. They look amazing at address and definitely have a wonderful forged feel. on contact, they feel firm but soft enough to not feel like you are hitting a brick wall. They encourage a good golf swing. I noticed that they still look great after 1 round compared to my ZX5s and p790s which show ball strikes much more quickly. These are the highest quality irons I’ve played with yet. i will be listing my ZX5s and P790s tomorrow.
  8. Compared the Srixon vs. The P790 today. Nursing an abdominal strain so didn’t fully swing as hard as I normally do, though I noticed a few things. p790 feels lighter than the ZX5s, making it a little easier to find the face for me. p790s are more forgiving of toe side hits. zx5s feel significantly better zx5s are more consistent with distance and dispersion. Zx5s look slightly better at address. Because of my injury, I’d didn’t get a full feeling of turf interaction. I was really trying not to be too firm and hurt myself further. going to play a round with the zx5s tomorrow and see how it goes. I have a feeling it is going to go a little better. overall, I like both for different reasons and not fully decided on one or the other just yet.
  9. I have the 001s and absolutely love them. Chose them over the 002s as from my understanding the only difference Is the upper material. Synthetic vs. Leather.
  10. I just got the 001s. They are so comfortable yet stable. The only difference is the material in the toe. The 002 is leather and the 001 is more of a synthetic material. i dropped my custom insoles In there and they are so stable. 10/10 would recommend. Only other shoe I consider is a pair of Pumas
  11. Big scotch guy here as well! In fact I’ve been collecting for over 5 years. A big passion of mine. I also love bourbon. on course I like 2-3 beers. Usually just pack them in my ogio beer sleeve
  12. Explain why you chose the model you did and what you'd hope to get out of them performance wise After testing out every players distance model on the market, this out came out on top I have p790s though these were way more accurate. budget wise I could only do a reshafting so I didn’t get the forged tecs sadly List your first name/city state (US Only entries) Connor; Denver, CO What current irons you're playing P790s Handicap 20 Will you agree to patriciate in discussions on the forum about your experience with the irons after receiving them. absolutely and will be unbiased as In believe in data and not leading people astray
  13. Very cool. 902PDs going into the bag to test. We will see which comes out on top
  14. One issue is I got the new levels with S300 105s whereas I have modus 105s in the p790 and ZX5 which will change the feel a little. I understand they are very similar though. Eric at New Level was very knowledgeable.
  15. New Level will give you demo Clubs for a small price. Are there any clubs you preferred over new levels? In the PD catagory?
  16. That was my thoughts as well. I’m pretty pumped to get the New Levels. Price isn’t a thought here so I’m all about performance. p790s are cool they just don’t have the feel compared to my ZX5s
  17. That makes sense. I’m going to compare shafts in my new levels with S300s vs. The ZX5s and p790s with nippon 105s I have right now. Just curious what the community thinks.
  18. New level has the S300 at no up charge though, was recently fit into Modus 105 S. Just curious on the differences between the two? Ball flight, stiffness, load, etc.
  19. Just ordered a set of New levels and am curious how they compare to the other two irons? I love my ZX5s but everything I’ve read seems to be so positive and better about the 902s.
  20. Selling a set of ZX5s! Price is 750 plus Shipping. Played these for 10 holes. They are absolutely awesome irons. Super forgiving in the players distance category feel buttery smooth on impact. To top it off The accuracy is insane. ZX5 5-PW Standard Loft Standard Lie C Taper Lite S 110G shafts MCC+4 Standard grips blue please ask if you would like any additional pictures!
