  1. Love to test. Unlikely you will want to ship to the UK, though. I'm spending the winter working both on course and in a swing room. Also using Speed Sticks which may increase my strength. Note the mud - lots of winter play. I'd like an opportunity to test: 230 X vs Z drivers, a slightly stiffer shaft, and in the FW and hybrid 220 vs 230 Current set up (all 1" long, MCC+4 Standard + 2 layers) Mizuno ST-X 230 10.5 Driver Kai'li 60R Mizuno ST-X 220 3W + 5W. Aldila Ascent 50 Red Regular Mizuno ST-Z 220 4H, Aldila Ascent Ascent 50H Regular
  2. Generally hate it. I want to hear the noises of the open air, and the thwack of a ball. Particularly, I want hear cries of "Fore". Music as an aid to swing rhythm is against the rules (Rule 4.3a (4)), but background music is allowed there. My local federation bans personal audio completely on their "hard card". But IMHO, if your broadcast device has your choice of music on it (cf LIV first tee), it might as well be considered personal! Prior to a tournament starting, to build atmosphere - OK
  3. I'm getting slightly bigger as I get older. My last irons were supplied with MCC+4 Align Standard Some odd added clubs are +1 tape, and that is where I am standardising with regrips. At my recent driver fitting, though, we wanted to keep my hands as quiet and torque free as possible, so rather than going +2, we decided to skip straight to MCC+4 Midsize Align, rather than Standard +2 May drop the align on my wedges next time, though. Putter - still with the 2021 Odyssey Superstroke. It feels perfect, so why change it? Before that, an Anser 3, with a 2Thumbs 43 mm, put on sideways - ie the flat to my left wrist. But that's my backup.
  4. Mizuno JPX-921 HM PW, as part of the Iron set Specialist: Mizuno T22 "Denim Copper" - 49/06 (S Grind) 55/13 (S Grind) 60/10 (C Grind)
  5. My dad's old blades - 2 generations Some Wilsons - name forgotten. Mizuno Widec Callaway Big Berthas Mizuno MP62 Mizuno MP32 Mizuno JPX 800 Pro Mizuno JPX 921 Hot Metal So 9 sets
  6. a Triangle of red spots on each side of the name (4 in total), with the point facing out. Unique at my club. I also buy dozens and mixes, so I can pull out a sleeve and guarantee they have different numbers Even with a correctly identified mark, I ONCE played a wrong ball - a previously-lost one of mine picked up by another competitor, and used on the same day! Spotted it when I realised I hadn't been playing that number
  7. Putter - Odyssey Strokelab. Irons and Wedges - Modus 105R Steel (Mizuno 921 HM & T22) Hybrids & FW - Aldila Ascend R - 4H 50HY, 5W & 3W - 50 Red (Mizuno) Driver - Project X 5.5, Callaway Rogue. Spot the odd one out, and having got the Mizuno ST-X 220s, it's beginning to feel increasingly wrong.
  8. My favourite golf app is probably YouTube! I use the Top Tracer range app to look at my numbers. I wish I could look by date for eg gapping sessions, but overall I can make it do what it needs to do. I also have Sky Caddy (device) and the linked app to do things like course favourites, and I wonder if they have every actually used the app or web interface themselves to game tracking. Simple things, like recording OOB shots are not even documented in the game tracking app. An inability to mark shots as "duff or good" means you can't analyse for your bad shots separately from good. (While purists may say "total distance" means every shot, I find that a waste of time. I want to know OK or Good for planning yardages & carry, but also say which ones failed, so I can analyse where a shot is the wrong one. Yardage is irrelevant if you have eg clipped trees. What you want to know is how often a particular club carries the trees vs another. On course, my Garmin moved reliably between holes; I never feel that is transparent with the Sky Caddy device.
  9. Seconded on the Mileseey; I got mine on Amazon for around £100 with slope, now cheaper. The only negative I've noted is there was a little condensation inside the lenses after being caught in a really heavy downpour with the case open; a radiator fixed that
  10. I made a decision at the beginning of June that I wanted to close the season out with some updated clubs, not wait into the winter - and guessed that backlogs might drop if people were waiting for 923s. I tried the HM Pros and forged, but the dispersion was worse, so swallowed my ego and went 921 HM all the way. I've had my 921 HMs for 6 days now - arriving the day after my first hole in one. Dimensions are very similar to my JPX-800 pros - so I don't feel in need of a thinner topline, and the balls are FLYING. The 9i is essentially the same distance (but backs up on the green), everything else is a nice 15 yard gap. The real killer is the 5i. Before it was a squirty low club at 175 on a good day, now it is a high centre flight averaging 195. Instant confidence. I'm not sure how they could improve it! But when I go back to my fitter for part 2 (hybrids) I will be looking very closely. The only thing I can see down on my old set is the "pick" on 9i chips doesn't feel quite as crisp. Blended 921 HM/923 HM set anyone?
