  1. I’m interested as well. Looking for new wedges and up for something new. Thanks for reviewing these!
  2. I like that line, have to steal it for next time!
  3. I love this idea. I made my profile pic the last almost hio I had. This is a great place to share and commiserate with each other.
  4. I’ve been playing the cheap top-flight balls up until I started improving. Have been playing some cheaper Wilson balls recently but noticed I tend to play better with a more expensive ball like the Maxfli tour on oncore x1. It may be in my head or it may be that I play safer since I don’t want to lose the expensive balls. Either way it has been helping to lower my scores this season. Good luck finding your fit!
  5. I play as a single most of the time also. My experiences have almost always been positive. I think the takeaway for me has always been, if you are pleasant and a decent person it will be a good time unless you get paired with a jerk. Some people just have a mature of being unhappy and angry, those are the ones who ruin the game for others.
  6. Jay needs to come out and say he couldn’t turn down the amount of money being offered and be straightforward and honest. Just like everyone wanted the LIV guys to do.
  7. I hadn’t considered this until I read the comment. Makes a lot of sense. Add the boatload of cash on top of that as extra incentive and of course it happened.
  8. Mine would have to be ride the lightening by Metallica. That rhythm would be perfect for swing tempo and get me hyped to play, but not too hyped to swing out of my shoes.
  9. I worked very hard with an instructor to change my stock swing from a wicked slice to the preferred slight draw. Now I can do both when the situation calls for it, like if there is a tree or something in the way. Most of the time I play the shot shape my swing gives me consistently on any given day, which is to say attempt to draw it but play the baby fade if that’s what is consistent. It has made golf much more fun knowing I always can try some wild shots when out playing with buddies and have sometimes even executed to perfection. I say play whatever shot shape you are comfortable with and makes the game fun!
  10. I’m much like everyone else on here, keep gloves until they wear a hole. Even when they get a hole depending on how big it is I may use it now exclusively for range sessions. In the past I played one glove until I couldn’t but I found that rotating 2-3 (depending on weather) really helps with longevity. I expect to get a few months of play out of gloves playing at least twice a week. Currently I use a Callaway tour model because I found them on sale (previous season discount). Much like balls, I will play with whatever I have at the moment. As for storage, well I’m a bag stuffer (valuables pocket to be specific). What I look for in a glove is a soft feel without much synthetic materials (again, unless it’s super cheap). I have payed up in the past for “premium” gloves and found they weren’t much different other than the material.
  11. I believe the cut will be +4 and tiger will make the cut at +2
  12. If you are looking for a product with accurate distance that won’t break the bank go with the PRGR. Added bonus is you can use it for speed training if you ever decide to go that route also.
  13. Let me start by saying if you have mechanical problems in your swing this will not magically help that. I found training in martial arts was extremely helpful to my game. It helps build balance and strength but often overlooked is the mental nature of it all too. Yes, any physical exercise will help when you are out of shape but this focuses on balance and explosive motions (sound familiar?). One of the best golfers I know is an accomplished martial artist and it makes sense to me. Let me know your thoughts and experiences with this!
  14. I came on here to say this about martial arts. Training martial arts helps in a lot of ways for golf. You gain balance, strength, and a mental edge. I found this to be one of the more helpful things unintentionally and thought I’d share with everyone who can’t do sprints and running in general for various reasons.
  15. I would also be interested in any apps people use with an Apple Watch while golfing. I like the idea of a focus setting with relevant info but an app that tracks shots etc. might be more useful.
