  1. I love love love Wolf Creek! I need to get down there and play again, what a beautiful course that is!
  2. Played one of the best rounds of my life with the Tour X, I am fully onboard and convinced that this ball is a homerun. I even had my dad order me 3 dozen of them, I am fully committed to it for this summer and all my tournaments. Take a look!
  3. I haven't had any issues or problems and am now on my 2nd dozen of the Chrome Tour Xs. My dad bought a dozen of the Chrome Tours and he hasn't said anything or had any problems either. That is a pretty small sample size to work with, but no issues from us!
  4. On the Course update from me. Played 36 holes head to head and played pretty well. I have a favorite between the 2 balls, I think I lean slightly towards the Tour X. It is long off the tee, great launch and feel with the irons, and spins great around the greens. Definitely a ball that is going to end up in my bag.
  5. Did you happen to play in a tournament today at Glen Eagle? I am working today and when I was cleaning up some golf carts I found the white box with a sleeve of Chrome Tours in the cart. And if that wasn't you, maybe another local person is testing the balls. But we should go and play sometime, my dad and I would love to head out and catch a round with a fellow Spy!
  6. Latest update from me, which includes more data from the launch monitor. I am working on gathering the videos and images from my on course rounds but my biology teacher is giving me the side eye so I can't work on it in class today. I hope to have it all up and posted by tomorrow night, but the early rounds have been great. I really do like these golf balls, not sure what I am going to put in the bag this summer but both of these balls are certainly in contention.
  7. Just added an update! This update is of my session in the sim hitting 8 irons. Surprising result for me, but the numbers were very close across the board! Check out the full review here - https://forum.mygolfspy.com/topic/62621-forum-member-reviews-callaway-whitebox-testing/?do=findComment&comment=1009315
  8. Don't get me wrong, I am still going to "win" and refuse to lose to anyone that I play with, at least that is my mindset going in! But there is always something that I can learn watching and playing with other people, regardless of their skill level.
  9. I have 1 ball (Tour) that I hit in the simulator, probably about 100-125 swings with a mix of all clubs, including wedges. I also used that ball to play 6 holes and then chipped and putted with it around the green. It has held up really, really well for me. At this point, there are a few little scuff marks on it but nothing that would stop me from using it to begin a new round with it. I think that the Chrome Tour holds up really well. More to come on that but here are the little marks, you can see they are very small blemishes and hardly noticeable.
  10. Just hit the 3 dots on the top of the post and hit the Edit option!
  11. I think that the way my dad and I did that was to take things in stages. We mapped out all the ways we were going to test first and then I had a schedule when it needed to be done. We would test something and record as much as we could and then take our time to put everything together for that test/section. And when that was done, we would just add it to the original post and then add a comment in the overall thread. Not sure if that is how we were supposed to do it but it worked for us to keep things organized. And that is what we are doing this time too, I have a list of things that I want to test and we will update along the way as we can get those sections ready and written up correctly. Not sure it that helps but hopefully that you answers your question? Good luck, can't wait to see what you come up with.
  12. Come on out to Utah and we can team up!!! As long as the weather is nice, I am at the course playing. And I have lots to learn so I love to play with those that have been around the game longer than I have. Let's Go!!! And bring the Chrome Tour balls, you won't regret it!
  13. Thanks, I did work hard on that review! I still have a few of the Sugars left and do think that they are nice balls. I would say that they have to be one of the best value balls that you can buy, they are really solid balls. And around the greens, you can spin them like crazy. I am now testing the Chrome Tour and Tour X balls and really, really liking them. I played Glen Eagle yesterday after school and was 2 under through 6, but then it got too dark to continue playing. I hope that the weather starts to get nice again, I am tired of just hitting balls in my garage in the sim all the time and want to be outside! And I love Glen Eagle, I have pretty much lived on that course every day that the sun was shining since I was about 9.
  14. I was supposed to get some video edited with my dad but the course was open today after school and my friend's mom could drive us, so I went and played 6 holes before it got too dark and cold. I wanted to play with the X but grabbed the sleeve of Tours as I ran out the door. And oh boy, I'm glad I did... I ended up 2 under through 6 holes. And I had an eagle putt on the par 5 3rd hole that had a nasty 360 degree lip out! I love the Tour on course. It was very long, I had one ball that carried 280. I know because balls were plugging because of course conditions and the hole was 420 and I had exactly 140 left. The feel is great and I felt like I could put it right where I wanted it every time. Seriously, this ball is hot and I really, really liked playing it. I have some videos and data coming, I promise! .
  15. Soooo, I spent several hours in the sim over the weekend hitting a lot of shots with these balls, a lot of shots! But I need to edit some videos and get the data compiled so I don't have my first full update yet. But I will say this, I hit these new balls further than ProV1s with my driver by 3-4 yards and the dispersion was better! They feel slightly firmer but I love the way they came off the club face. I will have a full breakdown but so far, these balls are sweet!
  16. Congrats! So jealous on this one, can't wait to hear what everyone thinks.
  17. I am in school and my dad just sent me this picture! Look what showed up ay my house, I am super excited! I am going to be in the simulator right when I get home from school and hope to have some videos and first impressions up tonight or tomorrow! Let's Gooooooooo! He intentionally made it blurry so I couldn't see any of the other details about it, I asked him if he knows what the ball is and he just sent me a laughing emoji! It is going to be really, really hard to focus in math today!
  18. I’m back as a golf ball tester, baby! Kind of feels like I am being type-cast (see my review on the Sugar Golf Ball here - https://forum.mygolfspy.com/topic/59957-sugar-golf-balls-2023-forum-review/?do=findComment&comment=944294) but I am so grateful for the opportunity to get some more golf balls to put through the ringer. So thank you MGS and Callaway, can’t wait to hit this ball! A brief intro and what you need to know about me - 14 years old, just passed my mom and older sister in height at 5’7.25” and am super proud of that! I love golf and got my first set of clubs at age 7, a set of InTechs that I brutalized by playing with them so much that all the heads fell off the shafts. I live in Utah and just got my first job at my local golf course as of yesterday, mainly because they know me so well because I have played there almost daily since I was 10. I am currently playing at a 1 HDCP, been as low as a +1.0 but have been growing and it has messed up my swing a little! I played on my varsity team as a freshman last fall, made state and finished in the top 40 (I was T9 overall after 6 holes on R2 but kind of imploded and still kick myself for it!), not bad for a barely 14 year old kid and the youngest kid at state by over a year. I plan on being in the top 10 this year and making the All-state team, at least that is my goal. I play every day, can’t remember the last day I didn’t swing a golf club. Working on getting my swing speed up, current stock swing on my driver is 101 mph, hoping to have it in the 106-108 range by the time school golf starts this fall. If you want to see my swing and some of what I work on, I have a little YouTube channel that I post videos to. My dad and I are doing a daily par 3 closest to the pin contest because we got a SkyTrak+ for Christmas, pretty fun stuff. But I am planning on putting more content on there, like some of my “range” sessions to show off my stock yardages. Here is a recent vid, if you are interested! Callaway Golf Ball Test – So here is the plan for testing this ball, I am going to hit it….a lot! I think that a lot of time will be spent on the Launch Monitor to begin with because Utah winter’s are unpredictable. Any chance that I can get outside and play I will, but a lot of time will be spent hitting this ball against my current ball, which is a Chromesoft X. We use the logo versions in the sim because it picks up the spin better, but I have bounced between the Chromesoft and ProV1 balls for a long time. I think it usually comes down to what ball my dad can get a better deal on, but those are the balls I play the most and the 2 that I will be testing against. I plan on going hitting lots of shots with each club in the bag to get a sense of how I like the feel of the ball. I’ll track all the metrics that I care about, including ball speed, spin rates, launch angle, carry distance, overall distance, and anything else that people are interested. I should have lots of videos over the next few weeks so that you can see the actual numbers. I want this to be a very transparent test and will provide my honest opinion and feedback. I will putt on my mat in my house unless the weather lets me get to the course. This will be more of a feel test, as well as some alignment testing based on what this ball has for alignment aids. And weather permitting, I will putt outside at the course and spend a bit of time chipping and playing shots from about 50-60 yards and in. I spin the ball a bit around the greens and want to see how it performs around the green, which is one of my strength areas. And I will also check some bunker shots. I really want to see how well this ball holds up from a durability standpoint as well. And lastly, I will play some rounds of golf with these balls. I will play 2-3 balls against each other and see which ball wins the round. I have lots of things that I will/want to test so I can be as thorough as possible in my revies. I really do like Callaway golf balls and feel like they are either 1A or 1B in the golf ball rankings, at least for me. I am hoping to love this ball more than the current one and would be thrilled to put it in play moving forward, but it will all depend on the data and testing results. But I am expecting that this will be another great ball in the Callaway lineup and I can’t wait for it to be delivered! Come on UPS, let’s go!!! First Impressions Right off the bat, I love the look and feel of these balls. I am a huge fan of the Triple Track and have been since Callaway introduced it. I think that it is the single alignment aid that any company does, so I am fully onboard with these balls. They have a nice shine to them and I love the simple look of the logo. The only issue or thing that I don’t love is the writing of the words Chrome Tour and Chrome Tour X, it seems like it isn’t straight across and has a slight bend to it, sort of upside down smile??? Maybe I am just being picky but it is a little off-putting to my eye. Oh well, let’s see how these bad boys fly! And my little sister was helping me take some photos and wants to be famous, so here she is! She is going to tell her 2nd grade class that she is famous because she is on a golf website now! The Numbers Okay, I couldn’t wait to get into the garage to start hitting balls. And I was a little bit shocked at some of the results and how the numbers came out. I went right to my 8 iron (Callaway Rogue ST Pro,34.5°), sort of to warm up and start to get a sense of how these balls feel. I hit about 15 shots with a Chromesoft, ProV1, Chrome Tour, and Chrome Tour X. I then got rid of any outliers or what I felt might have been a misread from the SkyTrack+. Here are the results: Carry distance was within 4 yds, but the Chromesoft did carry the furthest at 166 yds, with the Tour X at the bottom at 162 yds. Total distance was within 6 yds with again, Chromesoft at 180 yds and the Tour X at 174. Spin rates were interesting to me because the Tour X spun the most for me. I am a low spin player and the Tour X came. In at 5997 at the top and the Chromesoft the lowest at 5182. But everything else was pretty similar, with the ball speeds within 1 MPH of each other, launch angles identical, max height exactly the same (Chromesoft 1yd higher) and the smash factor very similar across the board. I even felt like I could work the balls both ways and they all responded pretty much the same. And after hitting them, scuff marks were about none and every ball held up very well and looked brand new still. The biggest shock to me was that the Chrome Tour and the ProV1 were almost identical in every single category. They felt very similar in how they came off the face even though the Tour is supposedly a little firmer. Based on the numbers, I personally could swap them for each other and feel like they perform about the same for me and my higher irons and wedges. Favorite ball with an 8 Iron??? Chromesoft is the winner for me! Now, that may be because it is a softer ball and my swing speed (82MPH with an 8 iron) is still in that range where a slightly softer ball is the better choice, but I liked the way it felt the best. And maybe there is just a bit more familiarity there because I have played that ball for so long, but that was my favorite feeling ball. BUT,,, I would play any of these golf balls any day of the week. They all felt great off the face, I feel like I could move them left of right with ease. The launch angle and descent was spot on for how I like to play. I feel comfortable standing over all of them and would game every single one of them! Next up was Drivers, and that is a different story on the ball that I liked the best. Here are a couple of videos that show 2 swings of each ball. I will upload more data and pictures as soon as I can, but take a look at my preview videos! SO, the winner is.... For me, the Chrome Tour X is the best ball with driver and it really doesn't even feel close. And this was a big shock to me but maybe it is just my swing speed (100-101 mph stock driver swing) and how I hit the ball, but I love the way the Tour X flies. The Launch is slightly higher than the other balls, ball speed is higher, the spin is closer to where it needs to be and the Smash factor was better. And when it came to carry and overall numbers, it was much longer than all the other balls. Consistency/dispersion between all the balls was pretty similar and most of the balls would end up in the fairway, which is pretty consistent for my game. Lastly, I am a very low spin player and the Tour X did have the highest spin, which is still a little low for what a driver should be. I am working on my dad to get me a new driver that isn't a low spin model, like my current Stealth Plus, but he isn't pulling out his wallet! I will keep pushing him, maybe he will come around. Interestingly for me is the difference between the driver results and the iron results because I hit the Chromesoft the longest with an 8 Iron and it was the shortest with the driver. I am guessing that has to do with compression numbers and my swing speeds, but I am not smart enough and don't quite understand the physics behind that just yet. I am just getting to trigonometry (which I don't love) right now in my 9th grade math class, so I will have to wait to better understand that until I get a little further along in my schooling! Other sim data was pretty comparable across the board. I hit with wedges, low irons, mid irons, higher irons, fairway woods, etc. I even pulled out my dad's Sim2 Rescue club to hit a hybrid (which I don't carry anymore) and the data was pretty consistent with the driver and 8 iron results. The woods and driver where best suited to the Tour X, low-mid irons where better with the ProV1 and Chrome Tour, and the Chromesoft was the ball of choice for higher irons and wedges. BUT this is just data from the launch monitor!!!! On Course details up next. I am working on compiling a couple of scorecards and editing some videos from the rounds of golf that I have been playing, but the on course performance has been awesome with the Chrome Tour and Tour X. More to come soon! On course (19 out of 20) I have to say, I really, really like these balls on the course. I have now played 36 holes head to head with these balls and the results are dead even. Playing at my home course of Glen Eagle, both balls are at 4 under par through 36 and I have no complaints with either of them. Let me go through the different areas and select winners. Tee Shots – Both balls performed well off the tee and I found a lot of fairways over the course of the 2 rounds of golf. I alternated which ball teed off first so that it was fair and that one ball didn’t get the advantage of a “practice” tee shot by going second, if that makes sense. Both balls launch about the same height and I hit a lot of big bombs. Like on the launch monitor, the Tour X carried and rolled out a bit further, about a 5-10 yard difference consistently. I did catch one with the Tour X that was my biggest drive of the 2 rounds and it was about 25 yards past the Chrome Tour, but the numbers stayed pretty true to my practice sessions. I will say that the misses with both balls were still pretty consistent. My miss is more of a hook shape but even the worst of those found it’s way into the left rough but stayed in play. Overall, both balls were great off the tee. Advantage – Tour X Approach Shots – So the nice thing on this is that many of my approach shots were using different clubs because of the added distance I got from the Tour X, which means my Chrome Tour was usually hitting 1 club up vs the Tour X. So I was able to hit lots of different iron shots and both balls a great. I was able to work the balls in both directions pretty comfortably even with temps only being in the 40s, they launched high enough and came down at a great angle to hold greens and I hit a lot of greens. I am a low spin player but they certainly had enough check on them for me. Now, the greens are very slow right now so I am interested to see performance in the summer when things speed up, but they were great and performed very well. Sound and feel is pretty similar, they are bit firmer than my old Chromesoft but I like the way they feel. Advantage – Chrome Tour ever so slightly, because of the added difficulty of hitting lower irons Around the Green – I am very happy with how these balls spin with wedges, they were easy to control the distance and I put a lot of chip shots in tight. I typically play lower trajectory wedge shots and with the slow greens, a lot of them hopped twice and just stopped. I really like the feel of both balls. I will say that the Tour X spins a little bit more, which I like because I don’t have high spin rates, and I feel like that added spin was easier for me to control. But the shot of the day went to the Chrome Tour. I had to chip up over a bunker to a tucked pin and had very little room for error and not much green to work with. I opened the face way up on my 58 for a big flop shot and threw the ball up in the air to try and land it soft. It hit just on the fringe past the bunker and rolled out about 7 feet to end up a few inches short of the cup and made for a very comfortable par save. Overall, both balls were great around the greens I felt like I would get up and down every time. Advantage – Tour X by a fraction, only because of the extra spin that suits my game Putting – This is my favorite part of the game of golf and I spend at least an hour every night putting in my room before I go to bed and have for at least 3 years. I have 10 putters and hope to have the world’s greatest putter collection before I die! So when I say that I really liked the feel putting with these balls it comes from someone that has spent a lot of time on a putting green. I feel like the Tour is very similar in feel to a ProV1, maybe slightly firmer, and the Tour X compares to the ProV1x. I currently have a Scotty Cameron Newport 1.5 Special Select in the bag and it rolled these balls beautifully on the greens. The greens did have some winter bumps and weren’t in perfect shape, but I really liked the feel putting with these balls. Over the course of 36 holes, each ball had one 3-putt, but one of those was on a par 5 and I had about 70 feet on the first putt. I absolutely hate having a 3 putt par but it beats taking a bogey. Anyways, I love the Triple Track for alignment, it is still my favorite putting alignment setup there is. Overall, I love both of these balls on the putting surface. Advantage – Tie Bottom Line – I think that both of these are great golf balls. Playing with the Chrome Tour really did remind me of playing with a ProV1, just maybe ever so slightly a little firmer but with the same results. The consistency was great, I felt like I could work the ball and have it end up where I needed it to be, and around the greens was great. But for me, I tend to give just a little bit more love to the Tour X. Even though the scores were exactly the same for 36 holes, I think that with the added distance and spin, the Tour X would end up winning the war between the two balls. The added distance was real and noticeable for me and my game. Around the greens the ball just zipped to a stop. Iron shots felt great, flew high, sound and feel fantastic, and ended up right where I wanted them to be. And as I play more rounds with it, I really think that I will be able to dial it in further and really score well with it. Bottom line is that both of these balls are gamers! Advantage – Tour X by a nose for me! And sorry, more pictures to come. My dad helps me edit the sizes and I need to get him the images still. Another update - Played another head to head round with both balls, this time from the Black Tees. A note on the Black Tees is this is the longest tees at my home course and I have a couple of Junior tournaments that are actually played from these tees upcoming this summer. Even the high school tournaments are played from the Blues, but I really am trying to push myself and this helps with having to hit lower irons into the green and I want to practice a little bit from those tees. And I ended up shooting a 31 with the Tour X (-5 under par), compared to a 38 with the Tour. I hit a few putts, including about a 50 footer for eagle on the 3rd hole. The Tour X is longer for me, plain and simple. I consistently hit it 10-15 yards past the Chrome Tour with driver, which made a big difference in how the Black Tees played for me. I was feeling it and so confident standing over the Tour X with every swing and putt, it was awesome. That is only the 3rd time I have shot a 31 on the front nine at Glen Eagle, and that was just the 2nd time I played the Black Tees so it was just lights out from the start. Seriously, one of the best rounds I have ever played and this ball is going in my bag, period. I feel like I hit the Chrome Tour really well, just couldn't quite make birdies with it today. And I just ordered a few dozen of the Tour X, I am committed!!!
  19. Weighing in here, we got a Skytrak+ for Christmas and I have been in the garage hitting balls 5-6 days per week for the last month now. I also go to an outdoor range (heated bays because this winter in Utah has been particularly cold) 2-3X per week to see the full flight of my golf shots. Here is my take: LM isn't perfect, obviously. BUT the data is very useful, especially if used consistently, but I don't think that all data matters for every level of golfer. I have been working on swing speed and have seen it consistently improve over the last 30 days and have gained a 3-4 MPH. As my overall average speed each continues to increase, so has my carry, ball speed, overall distances, smash factor, etc. All of that is consistently matching the training and practice I am putting in. And that matters to me and is validating the work I am doing with my speed trainer and fitness routine. And being able to see that consistently improve is great. And even if the data isn't 100% accurate, I know that I am moving in a positive direction because of the numbers. So the data is very useful in that regard. And from what I have seen, those numbers aren't far off anyways, especially in my irons. I think that my carry numbers for my clubs from wedges up to about a 5 iron are really, really close to what I see in real life, within a few yards. Driver can feel a little off at times, could just be our LM isn't a $20k unit, but overall the data seems great. Ball Flight - This is the thing that I am most confident about and really feel like it is very, very accurate. I prefer to play a slight draw and have made that my stock shot to eliminate misses to the right. When I mishit the ball or don't quit catch it right, the LM picks that up and the ball flight is reflected on screen. And I am seeing the ball flight in the simulator and also seeing the exact same flight at the range. I would always hit balls into a net in the garage all winter long but never really knew what the ball was doing in the air, just guessed if it was the flight I wanted based on how the shot felt. I am very confident that what shows up on the screen is what my ball is actually doing. And I am also using it to help work on hitting fades on command for those times I need to hit one. Learning to move and work the ball is easy to do in the sim and again, I am confident of the ball flight. And I think that seeing your ball flight is critical for any level of golfer, even more important for recreational golfers to work on consistently hitting the ball in the direction of where they want it to go. Dialing that in, IMO, is probably more important than trying to hit a drive 300+ because you can train for speed but it really doesn't matter if you can't control where it is going. Spin rates, launch angle, club path, face to path, advanced data, etc - I care about the spin rates for my clubs, especially driver, and I have been watching that because I am a very low spin player. I have been testing drivers because I feel like I don't get enough spin with my Stealth Plus and feel like it is costing me distance. BUT my dad, who is about a 10 Hdcp, isn't nearly as concerned and is more interested in consistent swings and ball flight. Some of the spin rates will matter for him and he does care if his drivers gets too spinny, but those numbers aren't things that he fully understands or really cares about. He looks at the swing path data and is working on not coming over the top so much, which is his biggest miss. And the data may not be 100% perfect, but it seems good enough to help him work on that area and he has been seeing more consistent ball flight and less big fades or slices as he has focused on that for the last several weeks. So I think again, it really depends on the golfer and what data matters to them based on what they are using the LM for. And if you get your baseline numbers and then work around those, you can see how you improve on the things that matter most to you. Bottom line, what I can say is that I can't wait for tournaments to start this spring and I think that I am going to come out swinging this year vs. previous years where my game has faltered a bit over the long winters. I have so much more confidence knowing that the ball is going to go where I want it to go and won't have to spend a month grinding the rust off of my swing. Distances will be dialed in a bit more on the course and in real world conditions, but I have a really good foundation and idea where I am at because of the data I am seeing and getting. Overall, I think that everyone would benefit from having regular access to LMs, especially if they use it consistently.
  20. We got a SkyTrak+ for Christmas and the whole setup was a bit under $4000. Now, we don't have a projector because we don't have a dedicated space that we can use (too much junk in the 3rd car garage) so our setup is a little different but it works well for us. We got this package - https://skytrakgolf.com/collections/simulator-studios/products/skytrak-plus-golf-simulator-practice-package which has the launch monitor, net, putting mat, hitting mat, protective cover, and ball tray. It was on sale during Cyber Monday and in December for $2995, and I had a discount code from an influencer that took another 5% off the top. I did have a TV at my office that no one was using so I took it home and we use it, so that isn't figured into the cost. But it is a 4k TV and works well for our space. Some people may not love it but you gotta do what you gotta do sometimes. We found a nice gaming desktop computer on FB marketplace because someone was upgrading for Christmas. It has everything I needed it in to run GSPRO (GPU - at least GTX 3060ti and ours is a 3070ti) and it cost me $600 after we talked the guy down a little bit. We run GSPRO on the Ultra setting at 4k on the TV and it works flawlessly. GSPRO costs $250 per year but it is awesome and we have augusta, pebble beach, etc. It allows up to like 10 players and you just play like a normal round of golf. We put it on autoputt because the integration between GSPRO and SkyTrak+ is still being worked on and putting doesn't really work well, but that doesn't bother me and it speeds up the rounds of golf not having to putt. Really short chips inside of 6-7 yards can be a little touch and go, but everything is pretty smooth and is so much fun. My dad and I have started a closest to the pin daily challenge and we just pick random par 3s at different courses and see who sticks it closest. I am including a link to a video I posted that will show you our setup. Some people scoff at the TV setup but it actually works really well and gives us everything we need. I spend at least 2 hours per day in the garage "on the range" right now because we have 8 inches of snow outside and my game has already improved in a month. The data is really solid and we even compared it to a trackman and were pleasantly surprised with how close the data is. The only issue we have had is that drivers may be a little off, in the 3-5% range. But that equates to about 10-20 yards difference, which is a bit, but ball flight, clubhead speed, ball speed, etc. are all shockingly close. And the irons were super close, within 1-2% across the board. And we just bought a bunch of Chromesoft Truvia balls(soccer ball and other patterns) and the driver numbers seemed to improve. And I am sure that SkyTrak will keep doing updates to the way the data is calculated to try and get it even better. My best friend has a MEVO+ and we both like the Skytrak+ better, seems to be more accurate and give better data based on the head to head comps we did vs. Trackman. But both are good options and I think you could figure out how to get them and come in under $5k, at least based on how we did it. Good luck, it really is life-changing to have your own setup at home, seriously!
  21. I got a SkyTrak+ for Christmas and it is seriously great to have at home. I took it to the indoor golf place I used to go to with a Trackman setup to compare the data and it was really, really close across the board. The swing speed, ball speed, spin rates, smash factor, flight path of the ball, were all spot on, especially with wedges and irons. My dad estimated that everything was within 1-2%, which is pretty fantastic for a device that I can have at home. The driver carry distance was a little bit off and more in the 2-4%, which could equate to 10-20 yards so it isn't a small amount, but other than that we are pretty amazed. We are running GSPRO with it and it is a blast. We don't have room in our garage for a projector setup so we back out the cars and have a TV mounted to the wall now. But I have always had a net setup all winter long so I can hit balls everyday, this just makes it even better for me to get my practice in and see where my ball is flying and how much I am progressing with my game. And I know it isn't quite as good as a Trackman or GCQuad (my golf team has one at our school we practice on), it does a real close approximation and the data is really pretty close, so I am thrilled with the setup. Club path and face data isn't bad either, and you don't have stickers on the face of the club and don't have to use special balls. Overall, I think that this is going to make a huge difference for me in the spring because I will have been able to play daily all winter long, which is saying something for a Utah-based golfer. Anyways, I am doing a closest to the pin daily challenge with my dad on YouTube which has been really fun, here's a link -
  22. I would love to hit the new irons and driver, I am super interested in them and how they would compare. I have hit their wedges and they are actually really solid. And the putter has a nice, soft feel to it as well that I liked the couple of times I have putted with one. Overall, I think that what Kirkland is doing is pretty cool.
  23. First off, thanks to Titleist and MGS for giving me a chance to play with some new golf balls, it seems like I am being type cast as a ball "demo"er! Although to be fair, my dad is thrilled anytime I get golf balls to test to save him a few bucks! Anyways, I did the Sugar golf ball review this summer and am always thrilled to get to test anything! So thanks again. Now, here are my thoughts on these Titleist Demo Balls. They look a lot like the AVX by way of dimple pattern and cover material/shine/feel. They are super hot, really felt like they were long off the tee. I was playing in colder weather and the course I was at has long fairways that just roll forever when the ground is hard, so maybe that was adding to the distance? But I did play 2 balls (Test ball vs. ChromeSoft X) and felt like I was getting 5-10 extra yards pretty consistently across the entire round. Lower ball flight than I am used to, but not anything that was alarming to me. Could account for the added distance I liked the feel around the greens, had no problem stopping them and getting them to hold up. They feel super soft, maybe a little too soft. But again, I liked chipping with them and being around the greens. Durability was an issue for me. I was chipping with one of the balls and practicing around the green and the cover took a bit more damage than I would have guessed it should have, based on comparing against ChromeSoft and ProV1s, my normal gamers. Didn't quite have the control with my irons that I feel used to having. I shot 1 under with the Chromesoft and 2 over with the Test ball. Now, I know that is a small sample size and could be chalked up to other things, but my normal gamer was 3 shots better on the round. I am going to try and get another round in but the winter weather is basically here now in Utah, the mountains got a lot of snow last night and I don't know if I am going to get out again to do it? But I missed a lot of greens on approach shots, which usually isn't my issue. But I did get up and down a lot to save pars. Overall, nice ball, just not sure I would throw it in the bag just yet and would like more testing. I do have 1 more ball left that I am going to go use in my friend's simulator, so hopefully I can get some more data on the speed, carry distance, roll out, apex height, etc. I will keep you posted. And last thing here, I am posting a link to a couple of YouTube videos I made using the ball. This is holes #3 (par 5, 510 yards), 4(par 4, 450 yards), and 5 (par 4, 350 yards) at Glen Eagle in Syracuse, Utah, a great course that I play a LOT. I went 1 under on that stretch with the Titleist test ball but you will see that I got up and down 3 times. So only 1 GIR but 3 fairways hit, just didn't have the control with my irons and approach shots, but really nice off the tee. And I am in the one in the short sleeve shirt, my friend was playing his normal ball.
  24. Would you let us know how it goes if/when you do try it out? I really liked it the times I have used it, I'm curious to see how it goes for you because I did see some people online saying there were connection issues and it was super buggy. That was early on and I think that they fixed some of those bugs with updates, we are just curious. And then I guess I would also ask you to compare the simulation experience that is native vs the e6 connect, if you can? Sorry for being so demanding! hahaha
