  1. Will do, ordered it with 2 day shipping so hopefully here in time for Thursday's game, if not Saturday for sure.
  2. Just ordered a 3 dot so no experience with the shaft yet but I wanted to comment on the outstanding response I received from Newton Customer Service and Angelo. Emailed Angelo late Friday and did not expect a response until today - he responded to all my questions later on Friday. Followed up trying to call customer service with some additional questions today. System forwarded me to voicemail for call back, rather than leave a message I figured I'd just call sales to see if they were available. Before I could even call back to sales - Newton customer service saw my call and called me back, answering all my questions - that is being proactive and customer oriented business. Bravo Zulu (my Navy/Marine Corps brethren with understand that).
  3. Erin, thanks for the response and input. Had a Email "conversation" with Angelo and also called and spoke with their sales department. Angelo was leaning towards the 2 dot based on my swing speed (87 on an indoor monitor recently and I'm not getting younger). However when I took some real world numbers for driving distance today (220 - 250, 249 and 252 were down wind:-), most were 220 - 230) and brought up not getting good results with Senior Flex (wider dispersions and "whipy" feeling), we decided 3 dot might be a better fit. Anyway on order and looking forward to putting it in play - will take any extra distance as long as fairway finding is tops).
  4. Thoughts from those who have tried this shaft. I'm a 67 year old male and average 220-225 yards and just checked my swing speed which averaged 87 mph. I currently play a Ping G430 max with a stock Alta CB regular flex shaft. I've tried "senior flex" shafts but my left and right dispersion goes up. Since I am in that could go 2 dot or could go 3 dot range I was looking for recommendations from real world experience. Not getting any younger and leaning towards 2 dots but didn't want to go hitting ball all over the place left and right.
  5. Yes, I use mine all the time between Memorial Day and a little after Labor Day - not sure if I could walk otherwise, especially during July/August, here in FL/Gulf Coast. Plus if that occasional pop up storm we're noted for starts your umbrella is already out.
  6. RickyBobby advice is spot on - try a sleeve of different brands/models and find one that fits you. A lot of folks like Titleist however I have never been a fan (probably more between my ears than actual play). Anyway, if you are looking at keeping the cost down Kirkland and Maxfli as mentioned would be worth trying. I really like Taylormade's Tour Response as less expensive ball and if you want to go one price point lower the Bridgestone e12 (unless you're into working the ball) plays well - might not for your swing speed. I went through 6 or so different brands/models before settling in on Bridgestone Tour RX - however the Tour Response and Maxfli Tour were close seconds.
  7. I will second the Mizuno 923 Hot Metal and would put them on your list (just finished playing the 921 HM). I went in for a fitting and fully expected to be ordering the (923s) and they were great. However, at the last minute, and suggestion of the fitter, I tried the Taylormade Stealth (stock graphite shaft - it is lighter and fit me very well). Distances were the same as with the 923 but on 10 shots I averaged less than 1 yard either side of center (923s were not as consistent, I'm guessing more to the shaft). I ended up with the Stealth but I would not overlook Mizuno 923 HM, Ping 430, or the new Callaway irons (Paradym).
  8. Know this thread is OBE by now but wanted to weigh in with kudos to Bag Boy. As mentioned above they are great about having spare part to send if you need one. I've had the original quad 4 wheel for a while now for close to 10 years (and play easily in excess of 100 rounds a year, nice to be retired). Outstanding cart if you are looking for a 4 wheeler. Anyway brake cable finally snapped this past week so I called Bag Boy for a replacement. Unfortunately due to the age they did not have any replacements available. However, they did hook me up with a new cart at a decent price (less than I could get it locally/online).
