  1. Left Hand: 659 Combo 5CB/6-8TC/9-Pw MB KBS 130x D-2 swing weight with tape on Winn Dri-Tac 2.0 standard +1 wrap Standard Length 8/10 Usual wear from about 1 round a week since July. Buttery forged feeling, great players irons. Sold
  2. Per Honma’s site 5 & 6i are D0 7-PW are D1 .. everything feels very easy to swing. And man is that Japanese steel butter soft.
  3. Took the OP Honmas out for their first round. Shot my target score and my partner carried us with a win. Definite easier to hit reg 85g than XStiff 130 KBS. Just had to trust the fade- tried to muscle a 7i draw on one hole and yanked the butt out if it into the water. Other than that, pretty fades and easy distance all day.
  4. First actual round in my money group tomorrow. We’ll give it a shot to start out- if it’s not working, it’s Nuke city time.
  5. I have learned something: I have to play the butter cut with the softer shafts. These Honmas are such missile launchers that hitting a 190 yard 7i that lands with a big hop isn’t practical. But the cut shot with these softer shafts is reliable and lands like a pillow at 175-180. I may put something stiffer in later but it’s fun playing these shots and if I have to launch one to a 200yard par 3 I can go at it with a little draw.
  6. Think I just got it on eBay a while back, same with the Skull Flag driver cover.
  7. Coming from Sub70 659 Combo with KBS 130x - just went to the range and tried out my new Honma TW-X irons with graphite Vizard 85g Reg. Oh man these babies are stupid good. Feel is amazing, forgiving, and looooong. The lighter, softer shafts didn’t feel too whippy. As long as I kept a smooth tempo going these things were buttoned, and flew forever- like it kicked into another gear mid flight with a nice little draw. Something I couldn’t really get with the KBS xstiff. Only when I got aggressive and quick did I fan a couple out left with a slice, and I could definitely feel the club head left open. I’m going to take them out Tuesday for my round with my weekly group on my Birthday and we’ll see how they are on the course. Will have to get used to being about a club longer in distance, but I was landing the pitching wedge in the same spot every time. So far so money.
  8. Alright.. going to try some Honma’s with Reg 85g .
  9. Would the Reg flex promote more of a draw with a faster swing? Or is this a bad idea to try?
  10. Don’t have the time to shuffle through all the pages. I usually play 130x KBS in my irons with my faster swing speed. What is the advantage in going to a lighter regular flex graphite shaft for irons?
  11. Ok. Which one of you delinquents bought the Ladies Bassara E Series on eBay?
