I have a severe case of tendinitis on my trail elbow going on 6 months now. I stopped playing golf and any bicep curl exercises at the gym during my workout. Stopped raking leaves or gardening activities as best I could.
Whether I got it from overuse or age or hitting of artificial mats (most likely), the pain scale was a sharp 7 for 3 months, down to a 2 currently. When I shake hands with other men was excruciating pain, picking up luggage was also. Rest and be patient. I may also switch to graphite shafts.
