  1. Clubs were built and delivered by PXG. Agree on the swing changes, have been working with a coach and already improved consistency from 7-10* steep to 3-5* steep with the occasional spike. The ultimate goal was to understand what risks I might take if I build a lighter softer set. Hopefully actually looking at LA golf shafts in a short set of irons to walk and play. From what I am hearing, it is worth a try and to evaluate how I am able to control my attack angle. Quick test session with some Aerotech 95 shafts were promising.
  2. Sounds like I may have a bad batch, have never seen something like this and the tolerances should be better even with my swing. Hopefully PXG will cover it with their warranty and I can get them replaced. Thanks!
  3. I think the hard part is knowing whether they are bent because of my play, or because of a bad shaft batch. According to a couple of pro shop guys, this has happened in the Tour Elevate and some KBS shafts before. What I am hoping to hear, is other high swing speed players experience with graphite.
  4. Was playing 2020 PXG 0211 w/ Tour Elevate XS and found that after two years of play I had bent the tip of the shaft in most of my irons. After a fitting this week my specs have changed quite a bit since my original fitting two years ago, all specs w/ 7I: SS: 95-99mph, Steep attack angle, fast tempo, heavy divot tendency I was fit into a Project X LS 6.5 which felt miles better than my Tour Elevate shaft. I had much better timing, was able to shallow and control club face more with better spin/launch characteristics. Afterwards I asked the fitter to hit a MMT 95 S shaft, and it felt pure. Was able to recreate if not improve on the specs with the Project X and I overall just preferred the feel/weight and effortless swing I could put on the ball. Feedback from the fitter was "yeah, that's amazing but you'll break those in 6 months." What has been the groups experience with Graphite shafts at high swing speed and steep attack angles? Anyone with similar characteristics playing graphite shafts for a few years and no issues? A lot of graphite shafts breaking? Any other graphite shafts to consider? I want something lighter and softer in graphite. Cheers y'all
  5. Having played Streamsong twice and going on a trip to Streamsong in a couple weeks, happy to weigh in. I have not played Bandon. Streamsong is a 4 star luxury resort with all of the trimmings including food and beverage offerings, spa and recreation that you would expect from a remote Golf Retreat. During season (Dec-May) the course is walking only and closed to the public with room rate averaging $400+/night. The room product is nice, definitely a larger than normal executive suite (I do not recommend paying up for a view). The Hotel itself looks like something out of a Bond movie, with three restaurants in the main building and one each at the course clubhouses. The highlight being a rooftop bar which is a wonderful place to enjoy a cigar and whiskey through the evening. Golf, wide open resort style golf with exceptional grooming and routing. Black so far has been my favorite, but I am yet to play Blue. My favorite part, being someone that sprays my tee shots, is the lateral OB rules in place. No more three off the tee. Green complexes are amazing, some spanning acres and give you challenges no matter the placement. Caddy service is highly recommended (request Kong or MJ for a lot of fun) but all have bene professional during my rounds. Greens fees average $200, can be $120 during the height of summer and $280 during the season. Overall flying into Orlando or Tampa and having the 90min or so drive is worth it. I've had nothing but fun at Streamsong. It is in my top 5 golf destinations (3 or more 18 hole courses in a resort or highly local area) in the US. I would also highly recommend adding a couple days to include Innisbrook or TPC Sawgrass. In central Florida can play 5 "top 100 courses you can play" driving a total of 6 hours. (Jacksonville to Tampa). Also note Cabot Citrus Farms to open next year as well.
  6. Wow I was trying to figure out why my ER2B felt so jumpy and light, didnt realize there were different head weights. Even with a BGT and gravity grip it still feels light and difficult to maintain speed consistency putt to putt. I gave up and went back to my mallet quickly. Thanks for highlighting this.
  7. Hey y'all, thought I was a member here for a while but apparently I have just been creeping. How long have you been playing golf? What’s your handicap or normal score? 20 something years, not really sure when my first round was. normal score is mid 90s. What do you love about golf? Playing new courses and meeting new people. What brings you to MyGolfSpy? Do you already know any other Spies? Release details, love gear and love learning about it. That being said, I know nothing. Where are you from? What is your home course? Living in Orlando now, don't really have a home course but I love playing the Winter Park 9. What are the best and worst things about golf in your region? Best, year round. Worst, Slow tourists and High greens fees. What do you do for a living? Sling Software How’d you pick your user name? Rico has been my nickname for years and 117 is a nerdy reference to Halo.
