  1. Practiced 45 footers in the rain yesterday (hit 100 before moving on to 20 footers). Why? Because some time very soon I'm going to have to hit a 45 footer in the rain.
  2. I popped out for 4 holes to see if I could film and it not look crappy. I could film and it looked ok but a silly mistake and some poor lag putting meant I scored like crap. What is really interesting to me is seeing how different I swing on the course. The 9 iron approach on 2 where I'm clearly babying it when long was OK has got me thinking a bit more about what I'm doing.
  3. Every driver out the middle is so close on ball speed that it really isn't a question. Long misses seems to be what you are after. The issue I have with that is a 300 yard drive 20 degrees right is a long way gone. I'd rather it only go 260 and be able to find it.
  4. Titleist TSR2 11 degree with a Ventus Blue. Waiting for it to be assembled. So excited.
  5. 1 round 1 birdie so far EDIT. Just went back and checked, no birdie in that round, I have an unreliable memory
  6. Felt so nice to get out and play on Sunday. Rain stopped just before I got out the car. 25-35mph wind was tough. I'd not played since October so had no expectation other than trying to nudge it around. I had however made a total change to everything putting related and was looking forward to trying that out. I hit 5 greens on the front 9 and only made 1 par. Some of that was poor wedge play 60 yards in on 1 and left it 50ft short etc. the rest was not having a clue what to do in the wind, into, down and side wind all played a major part in my struggles. Ended up with a diff of 16.9, not good off of 8.
  7. When I went to get fitted at Precision Golf the fitter said he didn't want to step on my coaches toes but made suggestions about certain things in order to make the fitting work best. I think fundamentally though people have a repeatable issue, whether it be face control, strike point, AoA miss etc. and you can fit for that. You see here Simon is talking about the effects of the club feel on the swing, not really a 'lesson' but definitely a discussion on what is 'correct' and what they (player and fitter) are trying to achieve.
  8. I now see why you are so against the idea. The entire premise is if you are not hitting it solid your body should with enough practice organise itself to hit it solid. Not changing your swing is what 99% of golfers do when they practice anyway.
  9. More putting today, a bunch of target/brain related stuff and some more technical start line stuff using the Visio mirrored gate.
  10. https://www.tourstriker.com/en-gb/products/7-iron Similar principle
  11. I got one Peter Millar shirt with the money I won in a comp. Only way I could afford it and I absolutely love it. Managed to get a second one by making the clubs B team this year
  12. I ended up with a theory. That blades and x100s was a self fulfilling prophecy. Everyone who plays them is good because of the club not the other way round. I was playing a cavity back with a light nippon shaft. I bought a titleist mb 7 iron with x100 and took it to the range. A bucket of ball later and my body had organised itself to make nice swings with it. Several weeks of daily practice and I basically couldn't go back to the lightweight and clunky heads. When I got fitted I said I'd lay whatever gives me the best result and that ended up being a heavy shaft in an MB head. If people don't practice constantly I cam see why it wouldn't work but for any true golf junky I think it's worth trying.
  13. I'm in the market for a new driver. Hard to see past the Titleist TSR2, but will get fitted and take what works best. Also been thinking about a putter change, really want to try a blade putter with a dot to see how that lines up but equally interested in the Taylormade putters.
