  1. Thus the new on course nickname "toothless" was born. Seriously though, hope it goes smoothly for you.
  2. I just started it at 40 and barring you having any medical reasons to be careful you dont need to prepare yourself. I just went in blind and didnt do anything special for it. I just ordered it and started ripping it. Hell already this year in February (we got one of those random warm days) had a 285yd drive. Im not gifted at golf. Im now expecting even just my average drives to be about 245ish. Just go for it. also get a referral code from someone it takes off 50.00 and gives whoevers code you use a year of the sub. Arccos is telling me (post actually setting my driver to the correct loft) im averaging 237 off the tee.
  3. Missed my first goal (300yd drive) by 15 yards. So damn close.
  4. Well… managed to avoid any damage late this week. Some of my friends ehhhhh not so much. I’m not sure I wanna see what their car looks like. The core that dropped that and later an EF0 just missed me. Threw my drone up but sadly didn’t have enough batteries charged to track it for very long.
  5. Welp it was pricey but my word… what an upgrade. quieter more efficient overall just better.
  6. oof. The saga: hvac system is ~27 years old. hvac system decided it didnt want to light the burners. ok no biggies 200.00 and a service call (yeah... flame sensors gone wonky). thats fixed. system now goes... cool thats fine and all... uhhh yeah ima not shut off the squirrel cage (main blower fan) OH and also the draft inducer motor.... ok fine whatever. Diagnosis the solenoids or whatever they are called (several beers deep right now)... decided yeah naw we gonna stick and fail randomly. new circuit board was quoted at ~800.00 queue me shelling out 10k for a new system. It was inevitable so just ripped the bandaid off. I knew it was going to happen at some point so just said naw... yep.. kill it with fire.
  7. Dude same! so close to breaking that damn triple digit mark on the 195. my driver I think is closest to uh the 105ish g weight.
  8. pfff I need to mail a dozen balls to you so you can bless them. Ideally... making them walk on water or something.
  9. Theres a Steph Curry in the picture? Huh... didnt notice.
  10. Well the good news is it was just the flame sensor. The bad news is that the system is still almost 30yrs old and not getting any younger, much like the rest of us. So im getting a quote today for a new system just to prepare myself.
  11. Just realized ive been on the forum a full year now. Wow. Talk about time flying.
  12. To a point. During my fitting I learned a few things. I can use standard lengths Standard lies Things i never knew. Then I got to hit multiple brands. You can even see from my SS of my stock shaft I was consistent......ly right. Is it for everyone? hell no. Anyone can play golf with off the shelf stuff. Hell.. I did for DECADES. I wanted to play "better" golf. I had the drive and the will to improve. New clubs wouldn't totally fix that. Did and have I still hit utterly abysmal shots with my fitted clubs? LOL oh you bet. Are my ok shots and my better shots better? Oh absolutely. Ive got the arccos data to prove it... to a point. Again its not an end all be all one size solution fits everyone recommendation. Can it help you? yes. Its it guaranteed? no. for those it hits the desire, skill, whatever matrix... will it help... maybe.. hah. This game is hard. Stack the odds in your favor as much as you can.
  13. Pree... you know better.... yes.. yes.. they will.
  14. maybe lead with the important part first next time While that is 100% true, in my case it did end up working out. I liked how the clubs felt with steel and granted I DIDNT hit graphite shafts in the irons and it wasnt for anything but I was legit just out of gas at that point. To quote John Mulaney... "you're gonna close with... new in town?" Also really? "Bryson probably swings faster than you". Like no s*** dude. A PGA tour pro who eats sleeps breaths and shits golf is faster than me?... wow such a hot take. ' MY point for MY game was that at the time I fix into "x" and it worked. Ive added for me a ton of speed and things havnt changed. So yay me? Come on man, im commenting in good faith here.
  15. Did you see the part where I said irons?
  16. Which is exactly what my fitter did. I asked about graphite shafts and he said roughly verbatim, “You are pretty young and won’t lose speed for quite a few years”. which is good news as I just started speed training and since I’m in steel shafts, even with them being regular flex I’m still not overpowering them and I’m up already 14mph compared to my speed when I was getting fit. He checked my impact for lie angle, measured me for club length. here’s the actual screen from my stock 7i at the time. Here’s my 8i at the range yesterday (ignore the 1W I just didn’t change it)
  17. 100% everytime. I’m given the opportunity for a perfect lie. Why not take it? if it didn’t help we could tee up on fairways.
  18. we already had a day in January that was in the 60s. Hell we had a day that had a 54* temp split. A week ago. High of 80ish low into the upper 20s.
  19. *plugs ears* Lalalalalala I can’t hear you. I refuse to expect third winter this spring.
  20. I got fit as an upper 20's handicap. Im now below 16 (on a good day anyway). Part of that is me just playing a lot more and getting better from just more rounds under my belt (new shiny toys help), part of it is having irons that fit the deficiencies in my game, the third part of it is my free set I was using were just 'ok'. They hit the ball but left a lot on the table. Its really not an either / or problem. Are fittings good for everyone? Probably not. Can many benefit from it? I would say yes. That new equipment boost is a thing. Lets face it you got shiny new toys you are probably going to practice or play more as well you want to use them. Its kind of self fulfilling. I will say more experienced and or better golfers would get more out of it. Case in point I did a driver fitting. Yes im a mid handicap now, but I did get to learn my driver loft was atrociously too high. I had a 10.5* driver cranked up to 11.25*. Not ideal when you hit up 5-7* already and have a tendency to come around the ball too much. Fitting tweaked my current driver DOWN to 9* which also opened the face up. Worked WONDERS for my driving. Can I still hook it left? 100% golf is hard. Is it way toned down? Absolutely. Im also working on my swing speed. Compared to when I got fit... my iron speed is up about 14mph roughly (~73.5mph to now mid upper 80's. Will I need to get refit potentially? Maybe.
  21. Nothing like waking up to it just blowing air. It was on borrowed time anyway I suppose. Ah well be making a repair call this week it looks like, though its so old its just time to replace it anyway to be honest. Just glad winter is basically over at this point. Might try and limp it along till end of year since well its about to start getting warm anyway.
