Did a 6-week speed check after work yesterday and things are looking good. I was striking the ball well, and hit PBs for both clubhead speed and ball speed.
One thing I have noticed in doing the SuperSpeed training is that shallowing the club properly and reducing how much I come in over the top is good for 3-5 mph in clubhead speed. Getting that proper sequencing in makes a huge difference.

The neck strain from overswinging is real - mine had me out of commission for 2 weeks during Level 1. I started incorporating neck-specific stretches to help prevent it.
I do find that the Level 2 warmup is better for me with regards to neck pain though. I think a good part of that is an increased emphasis on stretching with the neck (the a-frame stretches seem to help) and a better shoulder warmup (I think those shoulder muscles providing support to the neck is a key component).

I have been on a real grind lately. I have been playing at least 2 times a week while doing the training and fighting through injuries and taking care of family life before I leave for a deployment wiith the military. Not a good combination. I keep having the reoccuring next strain which usually isnt too bad but I can definitely feel it. I have tried to focus on what might be causing it but all I can come up with is that i'm a beast and swing too hard lol. I already considered golfers true athletes but it goes to show that if you're swining that hard you need to be in great physical form to keep it up. I actually have a mid foot sprain now as well on my left foot but I think it was from playing in soggy conditions and my feet kept slipping out. It feels a lot better and hasn't really hindered my training, at least I don't think it has.
This level 2 protocol just makes me realize I need better conditioning. I am shot and sweating like I ran a marathon after i'm done. Almost to the point where the last driver swings feel like I have nothing left to put into them. I was seeing significant gains in the level 1 protocol but seemed to level off big time. I am extremely happy to be hitting some of the numbers that I am but I feel as if the added swings just take too much out of me while training. Once I head into the maintinance phase I will be happy to stay where my numbers are and just work on my consistency more.
I was really hoping I could break that 125 mph number and with only a couple training sessions left we shall see. I also go back to work next monday after having the summer off (i work in a high school) so trying to get my training done before that since it will be long day. Hopefully getting one in today and then the last one in on friday fingers crossed.

I just finished week 5 of Level 2 meaning that I have now completed Level 1 and Level 2 training. Frankly, it is a pretty good feeling to have accomplished the journey that I set out on in May and I have definitely made good progress as shown below:
Level 1, session 1 - Pre Train, Post Train and Final Dominant = 73, 77 and 82, respectively
Level 2, session 15 - Pre Train, Post Train and Final Dominant = 84, 85 and 92, respectively
Over the last several weeks I have developed more control over my faster swing and am now routinely seeing drives in the 190 to 200 yard range (my Shot Scope P Avg for the last 5-rounds is 194). All of which is a BIG improvement over 2022.
More to follow when I complete my review!

Now that's how to use the ground!
I both love and hate when I finish a speed training session outside and look down at my grass. 😬

I have only used a left-hand glove (I'm right-handed) during the protocols and agree that it is an odd sensation during the non-dominant swing to have my top hand not wearing a glove.
Will be doing my final session in Level-2 later today, then on to maintenance.....and working on my review!

Man, if it's not one thing it's another. After 2 injury-induced breaks in the training and finally starting level 2 on Monday, I was again delayed for a couple of days after a bee sting caused my left hand to swell up for much longer than I've experienced in the past. I was able to do session 2 this morning since my hand has gotten a bit smaller (I can get it into a golf glove now), but once again I'm a bit behind... 🙄

Looking to get restarted on Monday after the COVID had me down for a bit and now my Dad has it and we're doing a room renovation. Life gets in the way, but we have to push through! Onward to Monday

My handicap is dropping so fast recently I just hope I can keep this play up. I do have to admit that my drive this week was on a long downhill par 5.

I am away for training with the military and we had one free day and thankfully I brought my clubs and was able to get out on the course that is on base. It wasn't the best but had some fun shots and beautiful scenery. I would definitely play it again if I am in the area again.

Good morning all, sorry I have been a little m.i.a. recently but I am away at training with no computer. I was able to complete two level 2 trainings so far and I feel good about my dominant side step but it’s another learning process for the non dominant side. I am also noticing that I don’t have a ton of energy that I normally would with the long days we are having here.
I don’t want to fall behind on my training but feel as if I am not putting out the numbers I possibly could. Although last night I got some PR’s for ball speed and smash factor. 182mph ball speed and 1.49 smash factor. I want that elusive 1.50 before the training is over. I know they may not be the main goals but I like to challenge myself personally.
I will update numbers when I get a chance, keep up the good work everyone.

I haven’t seen that. Maybe it’s mini golf he is talking about? More of a believable story. Maybe all he does is play chip n putt courses? I am fresh out of ideas. I agree spread some love. Not that I have been playing my whole life but a good portion of it and I have exactly zero Aces. Closest I ever came was 6”. I will have to check it out now but face value I’m not buying it.

Alright, my first five weeks are done and I am absolutely seeing a difference out on the course. I am following through with my hips more than I ever was and also have more distance off the tee. One thing I wasn't really expecting was that I have also become more accurate off the tee as well. Hard to say whether that is from this training or the lessons I recently got or maybe just a combination but either way I like it.
For the numbers from starting out till now have been a roller coaster. My initial swing speed with the driver was 119 and in my last session my before swing speed was 122 but the after speed was 125. I am not sure what number I should be using to calculate my increase but either way it increased. The speedstick numbers are the ones that really blow my mind though. Getting the light stick up to 135 is crazy and the heavy stick is now higher than my starting driver speed. From week 1 to 5 each club saw about a 5-7 mph increase over that time. I have recommended this to a bunch of my friends already, although idk if I want them getting better than me, lol.
I leave this friday for my two week training for the military. I am brining the sticks, PRGR, Hitting net, balls and my Driver. I am just hoping i'm not too tired from the days we will have in order to have good training sessions. I am looking forward to seeing if I can make those numbers get even higher. I really want to hit above 125mph with the driver. I have hit it multiple times now and just can't seem to get it any higher. I like the video @MsWalkrOfSky did. I might try to get something like that going for one of my training sessions as well. It might be good for people to see what my swings look like at the speeds im hitting. I have no idea how to edit them and add number like she did but I will do my best.
(I forgot to add this picture from my last session!!)

tommyb1683 reacted to GolfSpy TCB in MGS Forum Member VCT - YTD Forum Cup Points Race
Season 1 was quite a race with @Golf2Much taking the YEAR LONG POINTS TITLE.
Season 2 is a FULL SEASON, so plenty of time to rack up the points.
Points are awarded based on your top score each week, with special points awarded for Most Net Birdies or Better and Longest Drive each week.
Special events also add to the point totals (Such as the GolfShot promotion earlier in the year - offering double points during the first week the GolfShot App was used and posted in the VCT. Note: these points have not yet been calculated, so the results above will reflect those bonus points on a future revision).
After 14 weeks, we have another tight race... only 111 points separate 1st and 2nd place, and several others just a handful of points behind them.
Top 10 currently...
@Javs; @RoverRick; @J7Hawkins; @Randall Robbins; @invee123; @Bohnson (power of the long drive points); @Placasse61; @Mr_BogeyPro; and @warrenator8
The more scores you post, the more chance you have to climb the points list... so make sure you get ALL YOUR SCORES in the Weekly Virtual Championship Tour.
By the way...
Season 1 had 42 separate members in the field.
Season 2 has had 186 individual members posting in the VCT... SO FAR!!!
Proud to be the VCT Commissioner!!
Huge Thank You to all VCT Members!!!

Ugh. Ya, on my driver swings this last time over half of them were misreads, more than doubling the amount of swings I had to do. Might just swing only without a ball from now on.

So I've completed Week 6 and will post about it tomorrow once I'm done with trial in the morning.
However, as an update I am potentially taking a week off this week due to family business, an upcoming pickleball tournament this weekend, and jamming my middle finger on my left hand in session 3. It's a dull pain right now and nothing like a swelling or broken blood vessel, but considering how much my grip has been an issue as of late, best to make sure.
As a promise though, the session 2 warm up video will be coming this week, recorded in the comfort of somewhere at my house. Where? You'll have to wait and see.

ok, just finished week 2 session 2 of Level 2. Not any remarkable numbers except for the pickup of one MPH in post session driver, For a new world record of 106 mph.
I actually tries to swing a bit easier today due to my stiff neck issues, so was really happy with final driver speed.
Shot another good low round at real golf today, and having much shorter shots in is definitely helping that happen.

Every once in awhile I would get the same thing, I had numbers in the 150 range for club head. I wonder if it’s just reading the ball instead of the club head. I noticed it only happened if my swing wasn’t the best, so maybe not enough of the path was in the radar? Idk just thinking out loud.
