  1. And that’s the thing for me, I hate what LIV the Devils Golf did by offering so much temptation money that players couldn’t resist. And we are not talking players that couldn’t be in the hunt on the pga tour. Right now most on the World rankings in the top twenty either play on LIV not getting points and rightly so or they are playing like shower heads. ( Hot and Cold ) The chasing pack are not same level anymore, only people that could put up some kind of game are to inconsistent, Rory, Xander, Wyndham, Morikawa and Homa, maybe add Harmon. I can see Scotty being numbers one for years, he doesn’t have any real challenge unless one of those has a coming to Jesus moment or goes to the crossroads and signs on the dotted line.
  2. The question asked is a good question and it’s a hard answer because out of the pack no one is as consistent as Scotty. So let’s add to the question, would Scotty be number 1 if all the players on the LIV tour still played on the PGA tour?
  3. Happy Birthday from myself and Clyde.
  4. Many thanks, as an Irishman it’s the day after St Patrick’s day and my mother was in labor on St Patrick’s day. Let me just say, my father was not to happy that I didn’t come out and I had to hear about it every year
  5. Well Rome wasn’t built in a day, RTJ Alabama at least started the revolution.
  6. Yes love that, wish it’s was universal. Thank god Alabama are smarter than a fifth grader.
  7. I’m not one to call people out to much but when you’re stuck behind groups that are playing from the back tees and clearly you can see that no one can drive the ball more than 160 - 200 yards it’s a little frustrating as you know they are playing from the wrong tees. Of course once in a while someone gets the Happy Gilmore drive and then has to talk to everyone about it in his group and the other group on the other fairway. I get it, let’s play the big tees and get drunk, it will be fun. Not for the group behind you watching you putt out each hole for 7s - 10s and above. I’ve said for years, I wish golf courses had something in writing on each tee saying for handicaps 1-6, 7-12, 13-20, 21 and above or something like that.
  8. Great Sunday morning here in Dallas. Company asked me to come out here for two weeks so one week left. I had a Homer Simpson moment, Should have bought my clubs, so essentially when I get back to Arizona I would not have hit a golf ball for over two weeks. Just so I’m clear, you swing the bat and hit the puck, right?
  9. I have an annual golf tournament hosted by yours truly and this year we are hitting Vegas for our sixth year. Anyone out there know of some decent golf courses that are not crippling on the pocket but good to the eye? On another not as this isn’t until Oct, does anyone know if courses close for reseeding? Any help would be appreciated.
  10. The rules of golf are the rules, yes some may say it’s not right to expect mere mortals to have to play the same standards as the professional but you can also learn from the professionals out there. What I mean by this and let’s be 100% honest here. How many mere mortals actually practice this shot, I for one will go find some divot’s or make some on the practice facility and hit different shots to learn how to do this. That’s your advantage over everyone else that decides not to. It’s worth it to see the faces of your playing foursome when you hit a guided missile on to the green. It’s even better when playing match play, just watch your opponent crumble after you do this.
  11. Shot of the day. Jameson’s followed up by a Cinnamon Whiskey, hole, around the facial area. Always makes every golf shot wonderful!
  12. Let’s start with, what is a putter? I’m told it’s meant to put the ball in the hole. Really ? So why does mine go on vacation at the wrong moments, we have a little divorce, I then hit the dating game with several cute putters and pick one, then like a bad penny and after money spent and time put into the new putter romance my original always seems to come back from vacation looking awesome and new. So quick divorce from new flame as it’s being naughty and back to the old flame. My Scotty Cameron Studio Five smoke finish.
  13. At one stage in my life I had a 0.02 handicap, this was more in my younger days. Now being in my 50s I still carry a single digit handicap, Just! I have good days and bad depending if I have some form of over the counter medication. So yes golf has fun and not so fun days, but this also depends on who you’re playing with, some friends are chill and like to, let me say this. Liquid assistance, normally a fun day no matter what. Some are a nightmare and you need to be a shrink when you play with them, not so fun. I will round this up, I love the game, even if Im playing golf like a one legged pirate, that chance of a hole in one, albatross or eagle is still out there, somewhere!
  14. Good Morning, A little while ago I posted that I may have lost my mind and went all in on new irons, wood and hybrids, kept my Scotty. I said something like, thinking outside the box and not being a simp to the big four brands. So only played once since I’ve had them, the PXG XcoR2 irons are amazing, literally take aim, fire and hit green. I mean that’s worth being happy about for anyone, but the biggest surprise was the Wilson Dynapower carbon driver. First tee, friends tee off I decide to go last, well let’s see it Mr new driver they say. Hit the driver, didn't really notice anything special until I drive past all three of the others and kept driving, where you going one asked, I said to my ball which I noticed was like 60-80 yards past there's. Ok I thought, it’s one hole and let’s not lose my mind, third hole hit driver, same result, hmmm. After the 12 odd hole I used driver it was plain to see this driver is sick of the tee, it does exactly what it advertised. The Dynapower three wood and hybrids are like portable missile launcher also, easy to hit and long. My friends didn't seem to be happy with my choice of clubs, but my wallet is very happy and I told them I’m like personal exercise equipment to them, after the round they were a little lighter.
  15. It’s the new year soon, so I went a little mad. I purchased new PXG XCor2 irons, then went a little insane and purchased all new Wilson woods and hybrids. Then lost the plot completely and purchased new Cleveland wedges. Only thing I kept from my original set was my Scotty. My golf friends have said this is unusual for me as I normally stick within the four major golf companies for brands, but I’m trying to think outside the box and not be a simp to those companies and go with how the clubs feel at testing. I know golf course testing is a little different to track man etc, so let’s see how much money I can win in the first month.
  16. Current driver, Titleist TSR 3 10 degree. I’ve had a Titleist driver for the last 5 years, reason for using it, my buddy had one and I hit it a few times and was slightly converted from Taylormade. When I was an assistant pro I staffed with Callaway and had the FT9 driver, loved that one but my another buddy started working for Taylormade as a VP so I got great deals from him. Blue is my favorite color and I love the look of the Callaway driver but to purchase one soon after getting the TSR made no sense. I live in AZ so golf all year round and I’m a member of two men’s clubs so I play tons of tournaments plus casual play so I feel I could give it a thorough testing. If successful I would love to try with the Kai'Li' white XS 70g. Many thanks for the opportunity.
  17. I hear you Optik, we have many courses out here in AZ with Bermuda grass, I call it the swearing grass of golf.
  18. Thanks APH, I know they don’t have anything for this year's show and don’t feel they need to improve what they have right now. It does what it says on the tin and would say to other players, purchase one as it will no doubt improve their game. I’m open to purchase one myself and also doubt anything in next years pga show will be close to the tech and cost. But I need that peak first, for my own due diligence.
  19. My goals for 2024 are as follows, as someone the other side of 50 and still maintaining a single digit handicap first goal is to stay in the single digit for 2024. Secondly, I know to get to the first goal I’m going to have to do some type of yoga, getting old hurts. Thirdly, I’m going to really take a long look at equipment, like do my usual research but this time make it a real deep dive.
  20. Loved the report on the wedges, I’m a strong wedge player, saving my ass with my wedge play is key for tournament golf. May look at these early next year when I change out my wedges. Thanks for the time and effort of all the testers
  21. Sounds like finally the average golfer has something they can purchase that gives the same info or at least similar to the 10000.00 - 20000.00 units the pro’s must have. This is good news, but will hold off for myself as the PGA Show in January 23-26 to see what new things are coming. I wish this review was earlier in the year, I would have purchased one already but being so close to the show I’m going to hold off.
