  1. I'd have to add my lead weights for scuba diving, I imagine!
  2. I've found the Vice Pro Plus to be reasonably close to the left dash performance wise. Have you given that a try?
  3. Congratulations to the testers, it had to be incredibly difficult to get down to 6 but it seems to be off to a good start already. I look forward to reading all about these actual first hand experiences with the DF 3!
  4. To me, these were the better testing options since there is so much more subjectivity and nuance with putters and bags there is a lot more room for testers to talk about likes and dislikes. Shafts and drivers are cool and all, but they're much more in the realm of "just go get fit" and that's not as fun of a narrative for me to read, personally.
  5. The really interesting thing (to me) about eating carbohydrates is that for every gram you eat your body tries to hold on to an extra 3 to 4 grams of water. If you're only looking at scale weight, then eating carbs can actually make that number on the scale balloon up faster than pretty much anything else. It's pretty wild.
  6. Morning Spies! Wanted to share that I had a big presentation to our board last night and by all accounts it went really well. I was working on it for almost three months, so I'm excited and relieved about the whole thing and my boss is putting in the paperwork for a little promotion (slightly better title and a bit more money). I think I'm going to need to celebrate by buying myself something shiny and golf related. My kiddo and wife were sick all week and I was pretty worried I was going to catch it too and have some trouble with the presentation (or worse have to bail on it all together) but I got through pretty much unscathed until this morning. Today I'm feeling it big time. I'm glad I get to telework today and will be able to (hopefully) take it easy with the master's on in the background and a little daydreaming about what I might buy myself. I'm leaning towards maybe the ShotScope X5 or maybe the H4 (handheld). I've been really wanting to start tracking my strokes-gained and those seem like good options. Anyone have opinions on them? Or other ways to track SG? I'm hoping to avoid a subscription if possible, but if it's worth it, it's worth it.
  7. What did you get her? I got mine a pink Hybrid that she loves, but her putter is yellow. She's 4 now and ready to size up so I'd love to get her something pink (or rainbow, or unicorn) for her next one.
  8. Morning Spies. Still working on my first cup of coffee and I was greeted by the dreaded "Hey." on Teams with no further questions for an excessive period of time. I'm not awake enough for work small talk before the work question, so naturally I ran over here for Golf related small talk. It only makes sense. And yes, I've asked this person in the past to just type their full question straight away but they still seem to prefer the "Hey" as if they're sliding into my DMs or something--not that I've ever actually experienced that. Anyone have any fun Teams/Slack stories or pet peeves to share by chance?
  9. Yeah, that's part of what pushed me to think about other destinations for travel. There's also one in August 2026 that would be cool, but it's only parts of Greenland, Iceland, and Spain.
  10. This had me doing research on the next opportunities to see an eclipse. When this one was coming up, we figured it probably wasn't worth traveling to with our four-year-old as she won't remember it (among other excuses), but now I'm really inspired to make a big trip down to Sydney for the one in 2028, she'll be 8 and I think that's the perfect age for that sort of core memory. I remember a lot from that age myself and we didn't do anything nearly that cool.
  11. I don't own one, I hope to have the space for one some day, if the housing market ever allows for it. In the meantime, I'm a member at a place called GolfShac where I get to use a GCQuad as often as I can get over there. Maybe I'm not as skilled with the UI as I could be, but I would love to be able to program in certain things like maybe playing the same hole over and over so I'm hitting Tee Shot, then Approach (and likely trying to chip on too) rather than either needing to play a whole course or just hitting the same shot over and over. Maybe it exists and someone here knows how I could do that?
  12. I'm a big fan of the $0.99 brass brushes from harbor freight. No big deal of I lose or break one and they get the job done. https://www.harborfreight.com/painting/painting-supplies/scrapers-wire-brushes/wire-brushes/brass-detail-brush-69524.html
  13. I skimmed a bit and didn't see this posted. It might be the best view some of us get today if we're interested in the eclipse: 2024 Total Solar Eclipse Broadcast (nasa.gov) I'm remembering back to 2017 when I tried to use my front facing camera on my phone, through sunglasses, to see it and ended up doing a little damage to that camera. I was ... surprised.
  14. I've heard this for years, but I always assumed that it was me that got the line or the speed wrong and that means there was more I could do. It's really tough to take the "just forget it" approach because it really means I need to learn how to read the putt better to be able to have a better intended line and/or speed. Maybe that's why I'm not very good at golf?
