thank you for the post. these are good points. I wound up in light graphite shafts, in an A flex, a tad longer and irons 2° upright. and ultralite shaft in driver (<50g). so i am hopeful we addressed the topics you raise. tx again

Thank you RB... i appreciate it. Let me ask.... given her specs (5'11" ; W2F 36.5" ; DriverCHS 78, 7iron CHS 78, womens clubs too short). where would you start her? I am inclined to start with a standard men's length club, and soft shaft.... and see how that feels.

I am making recommendations for a young woman for new clubs. I use online static fitting tools to help in the process as I want clubs that fit her body, not clubs that fit an immature swing. When using Ping's Webfit, I like to plug the players specs in as men and as a woman... and I get interestingly different results. Obviously, woman's clubs tend to be shorter, more flexible, and lighter swing weights. But height and wrist-to-floor specs should produce similar club specs regardless of male or female. And she has had more success with men's clubs than women's. When I use MALE with her specs i get 7iron at 36.5" and 60° lie (2° flat). When I change to FEMALE and all else same, I get 37.0" length, and 64° (2° upright). does a 4° difference in lie make sense with only a 0.5" difference in length? any insights appreciated.
