Well Good Morning Spies. Yesterday we attempted to regain our crown in the St Jude Crushes Cancer Scramble and while we failed to do so we won with providing over $5,098 To St Judes as a team and iam much happier about that than any "win" in a charity tourney. Iam hitting my new I210 irons so well its actually fun to play par 3s again and the new G430 MAX 10k is a treat as well although I only hit driver on 4 holes at KWGC . Headed to the SIM as we speak to test some new S159 wedges and see if maybe after seven years of Vokeys something new may grab me. I buy new wedges every two years and i am not needing new right now but they look so nice!! Have a great day and maybe we will get lucky and the phones will go out again!!!

Well as iam an absolute sucker to all things flatstick i was rather excited to see the Toulon "batch" for 2024 made in limited numbers with four blades and four mallets available in a luscious chocolate pvd coating and what really caught my interest and the reason i didnt enjoy the past models was their milling was very deep and these 2024 offerings have a gorgeous soft milling which to me is the only way to go!! I do not want to hit a marshmallow I want feedback and I want it now!! Lol. These are going to retail at.....ready for this??? 600 dollars?? Wow that might be a tough go when Meridian offers customization for under 400. We shall see but they sure do look purdy!!!

That's easily fixed with a paint pen but more and more guys are going away from them and thus the reason the are not big. I like them and have taken a paint pen down them before to widen the flange line

Well as I mentioned in the Good Morning thread today was a somber day as a neighbor has passed but also a good day as his wife asked me to come over and see what i may want to buy. He was an avid golf club collector mainly high end putters (right up my alley) and a gun guy. Well I wasn't thinking about buying anything but wound up with TWO Scotty Tour Rats a Tour Model Laguna and a Newport 2.6 center shaft blade and iam not thru half the stuff but was broke and have to reload and go back this weekend. I could have told her any value but I'm not that guy and probably overpaid but I will be able to sleep tonight. Anyway another update Saturday

Par 3 tracks are so much fun!! As you said heck of a test as well. Back in the day Shell Oil hosted some shows called Shell Wonderful World Of Golf. A local course called Treetops Resort that has 12 championship tracks from Robert Jones, Tom Fazio, Jack Nickalaus, Gary Player and Rick Smith also has a par 3 called Threetops and it was rated #2 in the world for awhile. I stood 12ft away from Lee Trevino and watched him hit 8 iron on this 170 yd gem and drain it to win 1 million dollars!!! Back then that was massive money but the man immediately pledged ALL OF IT to St Judes!!! The par 3 thing brought me back to that day

Funny I mentioned trying a game improvement iron as a "driving iron" got home today to this on my Google feed. Seems ole Will the thrill also subscribes to that theory. The SGI Irons are there and you can get one customized to you for less than 200 bucks

Much appreciated and I've heard Cape Fear National is really nice and while there are alot of courses iam used to having 35 dandy tracks within 50 miles of the house but they have this stuff called snow there and it sucks so I'm out!!! Thanks!!!

So for what it's worth I would try before you buy and do not hesitate to try one of the strong lofted super game improvement irons!! They are easy to hit and they come in varying degrees of loft down to like 17 or 18° I have one in a "4 iron" that is 19° and super easy to hit. I get the same result but cheaper and a whole lot more forgiving. Just a thought
