  1. This is the first year I have bought the years newest model. In the past I have with Golf Clubs and Cell Phones waited for two years and there is still brand new stick but its half what it was new. I made the mistake this year of spending an hour on the range with GC Quad and that PING G430 MAX 10K and had to have it. I knew better but I fell for it. If you have a good gamer and are smart about your money wait a couple years!! So many guys would never think about spending over 80 for a round but they buy a 700 dollar driver and 1200 irons every year
  2. So send me a DM about two weeks before you come. I live about 10 miles away and have friends on the staff and I often get passes and vouchers. Don't have any right now but I should be able to help you out by then. Also after 2pm that time of year I think it's 85 bucks for all you can play and I have played as few as 15 holes on the deal and as many as 24 so it all depends the speed of the groups ahead and your speed. Some of the most daunting tee shots you will ever see and the sod tiered bunkers (bomb craters) require a player have a sand game!! Often if standing on the green with partner green side bunker he will not be visible that's how deep and steep they are.
  3. Yeah I just never really was a Callaway guy but I will be hitting these just to see if they feel like they look. My personal favorite all time driver was a Callaway. The original GBB Epic not the flash just the GBB Epic was my favorite driver of any ive owned and it got stolen and when I went to get another I couldn't find one but that thing was lethal!!!
  4. So Callaway and I just never really jived with irons I had a set of CF16s that I just never really got?? Never liked the looks but they hit it out of the park with those!!! To me that's the best looking iron of the year right there!!
  5. So I think I brought up my area up north and the amount of real championship golf courses, you mentioned the cost of a golf specific trip but prior to Memorial Day and after Labor Day there is great weather and here is a for instance. Shanty Creek Resort and Spa has 3 absolute gems and 1 nice track they are full all you want 18 hole high end tracks that each command 125 to 160 a round in season. Myself and a buddy went there and got a beautiful condo on the mountain and played 18 at Cedar River after breakfast took a lunch break and played 18 at the Legend. The next day we opted to just play one round in the morning at The Chief and went fishing in the afternoon on our last day we played the Legend in the morning and then 9 at Cedar River in the afternoon. The condo and all the golf you wanted to play for 4 days 3 nights was 760 bucks. 380 each for lodging and all the golf. So we golfed 5 times and stayed for 380 bucks a piece. That is not too shabby. I have done the same at A-Ga-Ming resort and at Boyne Mountain Resort it's really not bad either side of primetime.Topshelf restaurants. Casinos, Great sights
  6. They really work great we have been using them for awhile now. Cheap and reliable no fuel sticks or butane slop. They last easily 36 holes without charging
  7. Good morning and yes we shall see San Fran again at the NFC Championship when my Lions don't choke and hand them the beating they should have given them!! We beat KC first game of the year and should have beat the nines but anyway GOOD MORNING ALL got up at 3:45 and hit a few balls in the Sim and shot a couple magazines of 9mm having some coffee and back to the airport this afternoon to sunny Florida!! Have a great day all!!!!
  8. I have zero problems paying 100 for a course that is designed very well with high risk reward holes and is kept in impeccable condition. I love high elevated tee boxes and undulating fairways and greens that roll fast but true, for me it's about the service as well. I like to pull up and have someone grab my clubs and put them in a cart and friendly staff is also mandatory. I look at it like there is no way I can sit in a bar for 4 to 5 hours for 100 bucks so why not spend it doing what I love?? Iam also a certified gun nut and collector of nice watches so golf for me is my cheapest vice and I would much rather pay 120 for a great track than 60 for a lousy one with stones in the bunkers and some miserable Dud working the counter and no beer cart. It's not something I do multiple times a week unless iam vacationing as I have plenty of good tracks under 75 at home and the course I live on in the Keys also happens to be the only course in the Keys and with my membership I figure I'm about 50 a round when the greens fees are 125 for non members. Have to spend it somewhere I can't take it with me and she already got her half!!
  9. Being from Michigan I've played some cold golf and an ice cold ProV1 is not alot of fun to hit, What we do is I have those rechargeable hand warmers and I put one in my pocket and the other in the ball compartment in my bag! Yes I like heated balls!! Lol it makes a heck of a difference and keeps me from doing what alot of guys up there do and that's buy super low compression balls like Precept Laddies or I can't remember the popular one but it's like hitting a marshmallow that goes nowhere. Oh Maxfli Noodle is the other they like. I will stick to my Amazon hardwarmers and my warm balls!!!
  10. Was so wanting Charlie to win that but he knew he lost when his putt came up short
  11. Josh, It came with a Kuro Kage LE Tini 50. (S) which was super whippy and to me more like a SR flex it's advertised as a low spin head but my shot were to the moon and left w.ith terrible spin rate of like 4200. I didn't have a shaft with a Titleist adapter around and wasn't going to make much effort as I hated the feel and have no desire to compromise at all. Makes a cool thing to hang at the bar as they only made 1500 and you can't tell it ever been hit. So I think Taylormade and Titleist were gunning for a piece of that early PXG audience TM with their Tiger irons for 3500 bucks and Titleist with this thing for 1100 and I think they both realized that isn't their market
  12. So oddly enough after you made this comment I got a pop up from some obscure grip company that makes a bunch of cool stuff. This one got ordered immediately
  13. Yeah it is like pirate treasure??? Its cursed and has caused problems everywhere its been
  14. Ooohh I like it!!!! I think he has a $ stamp too maybe I could get the head stamped with the green fill??? Between putters, guns and watches I could open a mall
  15. Also wound up with this thing and bourbon had alot to do with it??? Won in a game at the simulator. I attempted to hit this and I could not hit it straight or long to save my life and oodles of spin
  16. Speaking of putter buys I found this long neck Scotty in pretty rough shape at a garage sale for 20 bucks I haggled to 15 and bought it and sent it to a guy I know that refinished them (I needed another like I needed a hole in my head) and told him "Artistic Freedom" do what you want with it and send me the bill. Well this is the photo I received ANY ideas on what I should do for shaft and grip???
  17. When I saw Dothan first question was going to be is it RTJ??? I have yet to play any of them are they that magical or just another hundred bucker????
  18. That Titleist feel/sound is really good as well
  19. I bet there is a member only 90 miles south of the Sault who would gladly send you a box
  20. If you would like to see a beautiful area and spend a few days rock collecting and sight seeing the Sleeping Bear National Park there is an LPGA event at Crystal Mountain Resort/spa every summer!! Great track all winding thru the woods on the side of the ski resort with Lake Michigan and the park a few miles down the road
  21. I bet those are a hell of alot easier to hit than that Wilson Blade!!!
  22. The statement was to one guy I was attempting to help and of course anyone can reshaft their club and get a lowspin driver and learn to hit it bit when technology is in place to make it easier why on earth wouldn't you??? I would be willing to bet 50 pros look at his numbers and the data available and the shaft and ball he is hitting and tell him the exact same thing probably in different words as iam a military man and not exactly a sugar coat kind of guy to a fault but his angle is super steep and his peak height and launch is towering everything I see says grab a Max as the club is built with the MOI in the right place to benefit him so I guess it comes down to my opinion which tells me LS is the exact wrong way to go but to each his own. I have hit an LS for the last 6 years and switched this year as the miss hits are nowhere near as punishing and I don't have to swing as hard to keep the ball in the air.
  23. We will have to disagree on that one,, A tour player looking for a little more forgiveness and switching into a G430 is NOT the same as someone struggling with lack of distance and mechanics issues switching into an LS driver??? That's like saying I can barely hit these GI irons I better try blades. I'm done on this one we will have to just disagree as this logic is not logical to me even slightly. So who is going to win this football game??? And I stand by my original statement 100%
