  1. Played my 1st round with the new irons last weekend out at Corte Bella golf club in Arizona. First impressions are that I love them, especially the driving 3iron. As someone who has always struggled with woods off the tee, in the fairway/rough you name it. The 3 iron is a club, that I know most higher handicappers should leave alone but I always hit my old ping g3 3 iron well from when I was younger. So I took the leap and I don’t regret it one bit. Now for the rest of the set, I love the look of them. They are still cavity back so forgiving for a mid to high handicapper like me. They allow a little bit more shot shaping than my callaway mavriks but still I would consider the zx5’s game improvement irons. I play another 18 this upcoming Sunday so I will be able to hopefully have more feeling to them and able to compare more to my mavriks
  2. I currently have a part time job at the pga tour superstore as a means of a second income and for a way to keep in golf without breaking my bank. I ordered myself a set of srixon zx5 mk2’s and the driving 3 iron as I was wanting to upgrade from my callaway mavriks. As I have been playing more and having the fitters/instructors at work look at my swing and decided I would take the leap into a more players iron and less of a game improvement iron. As I hit the srixons well at work in the simulator, so once they arrive in the mail and I get a couple rounds in. I will review how a mid to high handicapper likes Srixon, since my co workers at PGA rave about their iron sets.
  3. Hmm interesting, maybe it’s a placebo thing since I think of the Kirkland review showing that they are one of the worst balls around now. I bought them end of last year I think , so I’m not sure what version they are. Just got the two box bundle. I’m mostly just going off feel and watching how they roll around the greens. but as I said I’m not very good so its more of the eye test for me since I don’t have a sim to get more detailed numbers and could be more swing related for the spin
  4. After my third round of using the Bridgestone tour balls, I can easily identify the feel and spin off of my irons. The Kirkland and vice pro plus are much firmer but not in a good way, feel like rocks and don’t move much around the greens. Shot a 95 this last week at the red course at wigwam in Arizona. Which is one of the better scores for me since I’ve started taking golf more serious. So i think as I get better at ball striking and short game I’m able to notice the difference in cheaper balls as opposed to tour level ball. I also have noticed more putts being made and less 3/4 putts in general. But here to tell if the mindset marking is the sole cause
  5. Played granite falls south course over the weekend and played all 18 with the Bridgestone balls, and after about 36 holes played with them. It’s going to be extremely hard for me to go back to cheaper and less quality balls. I was a big fan of Kirkland and vice golf balls beforehand as a dad of three. But they just seem to be stiffer and firmer and don’t give me nearly as much spin and control with wedges around the green. And I’m a high handicapper and immediately notice a difference in play and feel.
  6. Played the back nine of wigwam’s red course here in AZ exclusively using the new Bridgestone balls instead of my usual ones in my bag (waited for the back nine to make sure I was properly warmed up before testing them. Not to mention to give me a control to test against). And instantly the first thing i noticed was the extra spin the balls had around the green. I had multiple 60 degree wedge shots that had almost double the amount of spin I usually see with the vice pro plus and Kirkland balls I primarily play. Now for the actual mindset marking on the ball, i noticed it mostly on the greens and was helpful as a focusing tool on my putts. I did much better on the back nine than the front nine whether that depends on the ball or just being warmed up hard to tell. Next round I play, I will use them for the whole 18. To get a better test
  7. *In progress test of the 2024 Bridgestone tour B X mindset edition golf ball courtesy of mygolfspy.* I was able to get a free box of balls from Bridgestone as part of the post here to watch the video and take the survey. Looking forward to playing these balls next time I’m on the course. As they are high quality tour balls and I’m curious if the mindset marking will help a high handicapper (20 hdcp) like me lose some strokes putting. Which is one of my weaker points of my golf game. I will post updates as I get out and play.
  8. Excited to hopefully get to try these! As a high handicapper who struggles with getting in his own head too much, I’m curious to see if they help and by how much
  9. I usually carry a dozen or so, and if they get too dinged up from errant shots I throw them in a bag to hit on the range.
  10. I use my Apple Watch and the 18 birdies app. Was thinking of trying thegrint
  11. Not usually a fan of the copper/brass look but they do look clean. Give a nice rustic look. If only I was good enough to justify that type of purchase
