This is an awesome opportunity for whomever. I downloaded the GolfShots App a few months ago because it has SwingID. When you couple it to the AppleWatch it tracks some major components of my swing. The problem is that it currently only works during a round not on the range.
But this is not a total waste. Due to the ravages of age, I’ve had to change my swing. I knew I had become “a little steep, and out-to-in” and had lost some distance. The first time I used it, my watch told me I was 24° out-to-in and at the max in steepness in transition. WHAT? No way. My swing wasn’t that bad! Ahhh, yes, it was. It’s still a work in progress, but now I have a flatter more in to out swing. By cleaning up the swing path I really have “gained” 30 yards, but in all honesty I was losing 30 yards with a bad path. I haven’t gained anything. Yet !
Bottom line is that this will be a great tool for the testers. And in a few months, only being able to use it on the course, I have changed my driver from being the worst club in my bag to being one of the better clubs.

This is the most intriguing product test I have seen. I recently had a chat with some friends who asked why I would want to try the Directed Force 2.1. Since I was already a good putter they didn’t see the upside for me. The downside, in their opinion, was the looks. A couple of weeks ago, I would agree.

Now I admit I was skeptical of this while watching Peter Finch game one last year, but honestly I could say he made any more putts because of that putter. He may have putted better, but it was not obvious. I have seen thumbnails of people viewing them, but I was not terribly interested.
Then I saw Mason (Busta) from BustaJack Golf making putts from all over the greens. I read up on the putter and loved the innovative idea behind it. But then saw this opportunity. I had to decide if this was something I could benefit from.

Honestly, I have had some difficulties with a mallet. Why is that? I love the MOI of a mallet. But most of them have alignment aids that are an extension of the line of the putt. If I have a line across the front of the blade, like the Kombi, I can putt just fine. This putter has 36 different options. The one best suited for me is Option 1. Also I do not look at the ball during the putt. This leaves me susceptible to off center hits. The DF2.1 can handle that.

I have been gaming Cobra for the past couple of years. Originally it was the CB/MB Black. Then graduated to the Forged TEC Black. This was my first foray into Cobra and all I have to say about them is good.

What an interesting concept? This would be awesome to tinker around with the settings and test at the Toptracker range I go to every Monday and then test out on the course.  I go to the range every Monday and play 4 times per week.

There are some designs built into these clubs that intrigue me. First off, the sole design is one that I’ve always liked. Second, my swing fault is a toe strike with closed face.  The weight in the toe, at least in theory, would neutralize this by slowing the toe and also putting more mass behind the impact.
