  1. As much as I hate to fan the flames of hype of the Autoflex shaft, I took a leap and bought one used and it's been a game changer for me. I instantly picked up 4-6 mph of swing speed and there's NO reason a shaft that's this flexible should hit the ball as straight as it does. I'm seeing places on my course that I rarely even sniffed before.
  2. I'm still not sure how companies like Taylormade think that media embargoes apply to individuals on social media. Individuals don't have any sponsorships to lose and aren't a part of any media organizations so how exactly can they demand someone remove pictures they find around on the internet?
  3. Like I mentioned earlier, keep in mind that they started using a carbon fiber face tech in the Japanese (JDM) market as early as around 2013 with the Gloire line of drivers. We're just now getting a taste of it here in the US so the tech is going to be well tested already.
  4. I have pictures of the Taylormade and the Cobra drivers up on my Instagram page if you want to see them early. https://www.instagram.com/rob.c.slade/
  5. Looks like they are taking a page out of their 2013 Japanese Gloire release and applying the carbon fiber face to the stealth driver instead of using a titanium face. This has to free up a TON of weight up front from the heaviest part of the face so that they can move it around to other areas of the head. I'd bet you can really tune the performance of the face as well since you are essentially putting in layers of carbon fiber where you want to control the flex across the face.

I tried these balls when they first came out and was pretty impressed with them. They did everything I needed them to do in a premium ball. I didn't find the price to be all that great of a value compared to a lot of other premium balls out there so I decided to stick with my Maxfli Tour CG balls.
  7. My first guess is just overstock that they are trying to clear out. Nothing I can tell is different other than the shafts you mentioned.
  8. The newer Maltby KE4 TC HyWay Utility Woods also look more like fairway woods but are pretty large.
  9. I'd be willing to bet that Snell is going to have to take his business elsewhere. Hope it doesn't affect their quality.
  10. No, it's still up in the middle of the shaft but the insert itself is very short. It won't really fit in the tip section since it's a drinking straw wrapped in open cell foam. Here is a picture of the full insert that used to be Sensicore. Now it's the same insert but only about 4-5" long instead of 8-10" long.
  11. Funny enough, True Temper has even shortened the Sensicore insert they used to use in their shafts. Originally the sensicore insert was close to as long as these inserts. Now that they've re-branded it and started calling it VSS, they have cut the length in half and now the insert is only about 4 inches long.
  12. I've used these on a few sets of irons. They seem to work as advertised although I've found that if you cut them in half they are easier to install, provide the same amount of benefit, and give you twice as many to use. The straw tends to bend and mash up as you get them fully pushed down.
  13. It's my understanding the Graphite Design Tour AD XC is an update of the Tour AD BB design. Very similar bend profiles overall.
  14. I got one too! I'm not the biggest fan of the 2 style compared to the 1 but since it's more rare I snatched one up.
  15. Yep, probably couldn't get the gap wedge shaft from KBS so they made a "spinner" shaft buy putting in an 8 iron shaft. I'm sure they expected that no one would know the difference. That's 100% why I build all my own stuff, can't trust anyone else to do it right.
  16. My Taylormade putter finally showed up last week! For some reason they didn't match up my name with the same color paint . It's an easy fix though.
  17. Those Nakashima heads had some heat to them.
  18. At the rate Ping is going, it'll be 3 years before you'll ever get a set.
  19. F1 drivers blame their cars all the time whether it's really a mechanical issue or not. It pushes engineers to make the car better and better and that eventually trickles down into the regular cars we purchase. It's the same here and we will all benefit from what Cobra is learning from Bryson's constant envelope pushing. Don't get me wrong, I don't really align with Bryson's personality but he's the face of Cobra now and they have to roll with it. I'm sure there will be some great internal meetings at Cobra to discuss further and I'm sure Bryson will post some sort of apology and life will move on.
  20. For me it was one of the easiest drivers to hit straight that I've ever played. It has near Ping G400Max levels of MOI and the spin wasn't too high. I did have to play it down a degree in loft compared to what I would normally play but you can swing as hard as you want and it will try and go straight.
