  1. Have fun; golf trips can be great fun. I know the MGS forum outings have been a blast. I’ll also be brutally honest, no one at the course cares how well you play. They have seen it all; just maintain a solid pace of play, fill your divots, and repair ball marks on the greens.
  2. You will probably never see it on camera as the gesture is made to the on course reporter. believe it's down for the low number clubs. 2 down=2 iron, 3 down=3 iron and so on. Fingers up would be the number of fingers plus 5, 1 up=6 iron, 2 up=7 iron, 3 up=8 iron. For wedge they make a fist
  3. In my opinion, there is no ideal as everyone is different. Also I believe swing weight probably doesn’t matter as much as total weight. Swing weight is mostly about how the club balances and while it is important to some people it doesn’t have a starting point. For example with the same grip and head a 60 gram counter balanced shaft will swingweight differently that a 60 gram non counterbalanced but have the same total weight. if you are going to get fit, let the fitter do their job and tell your son to provide feedback to the fitter
  4. There are a few more in the Raleigh area that were active a while ago but a little less now. Maybe when golf season gets more under way.
  5. Seems like occasionally the forum loads slowly and hasn’t completely loaded so when I click the notifications icon I get the spinning wheel. I will reload the new posts or forum and it resolves the issue. I also occasionally get a page that says the forum is responding slowly and then the page will reload and everything works fine. Also Sometimes when I go the first new post in a thread it doesn’t load and I have to refresh; this seems to be tied to the loading of the video ad that is either mid thread or pops out when you scroll past it. my guess would be less invision and more associated with something being loaded/connected to during the loading of ads.
  6. Looks like one way. Per the site it is free shipping to you: Free shipping is available only to the 48 U.S. contiguous states and Washington, D.C.

  8. Works perfectly if you use the right theme: MyGolfSpy (Original Light)
  9. Don't blame you for that at all. The trackman university should give you lots of good information.
  10. here is a place to start: https://trackmanuniversity.com/ Understanding fitting and launch monitor data is not easy and takes a while to learn. It is basically a profession so significant amounts of training is necessary.

  12. Thought about it again and it is theme dependent. The original theme has a space the default doesn’t.
  13. Device dependent. It shows a space on my iPad.
  14. What is his AoA? What is he trying to accomplish with his driver?
  15. Everyone seems to be taking this down the cost road. How about ignoring costs at looking more at style because athleisure from brands like lululemon, Rhoback, and others can be quite expensive. Today’s style is significantly different and hoodies and joggers are the norm. We see P.G.A. professionals adopting this type of attire during their events. Sure, private clubs can dictate what they want their members to wear, but will younger players that wear the new styles join these clubs? Will these clubs be able to continue long term? play at a local city run muni that has a sign up that states a dress code with collared shirt in bold and underlined. let’s look at the workplace. When I started, proper attire was a suit. Then It the. Progressed to casual Friday. Then It progressed to business casual everyday. There are people that now dress in what I consider to be less than business casual but honestly I don’t care. styles change and ultimately the styles that we see on the golf course should also evolve.
  16. That is my biggest problem. I tend to get quick with the partial wedge shots and then flip my wrist and thin the ball. I really have to focus on a two count so the basic movement is a struggle for me right now.
  17. Congrats on the personal best.
  18. I want to do his address system as well; I just need to be able to swing clubs and learn the distances.
  19. but with short game/pitching you don't have to hit the ball first.
  20. Feedback: Putting strokes aren't straight back and through. Don't have to have a center shafted putter for a "SBST" stroke. That said if you want a center shafted putter, the ones you selected are fine. Many would recommend LAB as the best option. I play a Sacks Parente that I do really well with aiming and starting the ball where aimed.
  21. Maybe I misread your post to think you were saying forged was better than cast when you specifically mentioned forged irons. depending on the type of club you are referencing some clubs are better than 20 years ago simply because they are multi-piece construction which allows for better placement that pure cast or pure forged. Yes, there is some deflection of the face; that is what is limited by the equipment rules. Off center strikes cause the shaft to torque which results in the ball going left/right. I have seen slo-mo videos of driver impact and don't see much other than twisting of the shaft. Point me to a video.
  22. I view clubhead twist at impact as a shaft thing. The 70 yard wide dispersion that PGA pros have off the tee is because they deliver the club open or closed at impact. I also don't buy into the forged > cast argument. Current clubs are not more components that single castings or forgings.
  23. Homa needed to tell the Marshalls to move those people back.
  24. You have to go deeper than Brand. You can pick a brand you prefer but you may do better with a low spin version of the head or a draw biases or a MAX version or some other variation. For example I don't do well with low spin models. Shafts have different profile and you can generally switch between shafts with similar profiles across brands. But you may get poor results if you pick shafts with significantly different profiles. Shaft weight is also another important consideration. No reason to get frustrated; you just need to know that fitters do different things to get to the goal. The other thing is there aren't standards in lie angle; standard for one OEM could be 2 degrees flatter than another so in one you need to go flat and the other you need to go upright. Shaft length; which again isn't standard, also has some influence. Based on how the shat profile it will have different deflection at impact which will impact lie angle. Clubhead weight impacts deflection which as we just mentioned impacts lie angle. Basically everything in a club is variable.
  25. I think swings like Knapp and going older Els and Couples look so smooth and something I guess I would like to emulate. I guess their swings are so appealing because they seem to have a slower tempo and aren't aggressive in the transitions. But I can't say I reference any PGA pro when working on my swing I just want to find what works for me since we are all unique.
