  1. My prediction is Zalatoris; i think he gets 4 solid rounds this week.
  2. There is a video and text explanation in the article. Some people have struggled to watch the video ; here is a link to the video that should avoid the ad problem https://cdn.jwplayer.com/previews/PfE80cEz Which g430 model since g430 is a line of drivers? You can always compare last years results to this years data. Two completely different performing drivers targeted at different types of players. They were compared in the test so you can look at the data and see the differences.
  3. How did you pick the head and shaft and shaft, did you adjust the shaft length to hit the middle? Changing the weight around doesn’t make it feel heavier.
  4. I had the same problem. Reloaded the page and got though it. using the link to the actual video may work better . I think it is a great explanation on how they evaluate the drivers. They also explain the metrics in the article. https://cdn.jwplayer.com/previews/PfE80cEz
  5. IF you just go in a store and hit clubs you probably won’t find the right head shaft combo. MGS testing has shown that newer drivers are better than drivers in the 5/10 year and beyond range. I have been part of their older vs new testing and agree 100%. you mention weight and hitting middle of the face which are things that can be addressed by changing the removable weights and adjusting shaft length. don’t just randomly hit a driver and compare; you should do some kind of fitting where the configuration of the club is looked at and adjusted.
  6. Scottie is the one that will stop Scottie. Can he continue putting well or will he be streaky and fall off this week. The PGA Championship is an approach and putting competition. Maybe even with a mediocre putting performance his typical approach play will be enough.
  7. Probably going to see performance differences. Weight is a big factor in fitting shafts; more than flex since flex isn’t really standard. IMO, you see fit into a 60gr weight class and should go with what you were fit into,
  8. Could be multiple things. We were just pointing out that simply looking at loft does not mean a club will go farther. Just real life example of the falsehood that loft jacked irons always go farther.
  9. Not sure I like the warm weather trend and that we changed the time so it is light after work. Normally I’d be doing most wanted iron testing or getting 9 in after work but still restricted from lifting anything over 10 lbs and not supposed to swing a club until April 1. Going to be a long 2 1/2 weeks.
  10. Some offer demo clubs that you can use. Typically about $20, they send you clubs, you try them, and then you send them back. If you are local to them you can often go for a fitting. All do some kind of phone/online fitting. Some have been available and commercial fitting locations. PXG has mobile fitters or you go to their stores. Different models based on the OEM.
  11. 06/07 season game was February 07. I loathe the Packers too my family is from Chicago and I was born there. My parents left Chicago when I was 2.
  12. The best player made 70% of their 8 footers and the 193rd made 35%. Average seems like a nice number to look at but there is a great bit of disparity from the top to bottom
  13. Completely agree; that was my assessment in my first post.
  14. If default spec, The SIM 2 is 28.5 and 37.25" and the JPX Forged is 30 and 37". Kind of defeats that loft jacking makes the ball go farther argument.
  15. Post launch monitor data and it could be explained in more detail. But the basic answer is probably that they fit you better, better contact, and you swing the club faster; probably due to the 85 vs 105 gr shaft and its profile.
  16. They were in the Super Bowl in 2007.
  17. Discussed a little on their customer service FAQ page: https://ping.com/en-us/customer-service/frequently-asked-questions What should I do if I think there is a defect with my product? At PING, we stand behind the workmanship and the materials involved in the manufacturing and production of our equipment and accessories. 18. You should also look at the video he did with Rachael Drummond on his YouTube page and he one with Rick Shiels on Ricks page. i read his book which also dives deeper into the techniques and hitting 30 yard and longer pitches.
  19. When you say”comfortable” are you implying painful or something you can’t physically accomplish? Or a this doesn’t feel right? If the first then you need to communicate limitation with the instructor. your second paragraph implies that you want to just try different things to see what works. There are people that do that and have been successful doing that. we should not copy Rory, Tommy, Phil, tc. They are all different people with different physical attributes. However, even with differences, there are things that they all do to make an effective swing. to me it sounds like you want to do specific things in your swing because it is what you do now and you are comfortable doing them. Often doing these things put you in a position that makes accomplishing the swing harder because you have to make compensations and aren’t reliable in making those compensations. My guess is The instructor is trying to simplify and make the swing easier. That said, lessons require communication and if the are specific things you want to do tell the instructor. The instructor may work with those things or tell you that they can’t help you.
  20. Play. Been to Augusta don’t have to go again unless it was to play.
  21. Was it a fitting or a demo? If it was a fitting did he identify some shafts that you should try in your old driver? Yes, shafts rename from about $50 to about $800. But that doesn’t mean an $800 shaft is better or will work for you than the $50 one.
  22. Thanks! I differ in that I am more face oriented. Misses for me result in my adjusting the delivery of the face. I don’t care about putter path.
  23. F you are in town, tickets along the side of the road are much cheaper than buying in advance.
  24. Way out there question which comes from things I have been reading about putting. More of an educate me type of question. When you say stroke/smooth swing are you saying you are more interested about the oath the putter moves on? Basically if you miss a putt your thought is more to setting yourself up to make sure the putter travels on the “desired” path? f you want more detail on what I was reading. Go here: https://substack.com/@brucerearick and read lessons 25-27.
  25. I don’t think we are taking away from his review; just discussing our feelings based on his statements. Your perspective is the same as many the putting stroke is easy and let’s just change. In your scenario putter fitting isn’t necessary except for maybe length, just grab something and figure out how to make it work. I prefer to go the opposite want and find a putter to fit what I am doing. When the pressure is on we typically fall back into old habits. The OP original fit was based on working with Bruce Rearick and I have also worked with Bruce. Based on Bruce’s experience the LAB isn’t a putter that works well for my stroke and my experience with the putter proved that to be true.
