  1. I am sure @Yellow Ball will show up sometime during the weekend, he loves water.

People have all different combinations of clubs....FW woods, hybrids, driving irons, long irons, lots of wedges, high lofted wedges, chippers. What works for one player may not work for another.

    Ping ChipR

I've tried the one at MGS headquarters and it works for chipping and finesse shots so it is pretty versatile. I'd be willing to drop a lob wedge to put it in the bag.
  4. What do you see when you select your 9 hole round? Did they combine the 9 hole rounds into 18 holes?
  5. Royal New Kent in providence forge, Va; it has some big greens. It is links style. here is the green I was on and here is one that is probably the biggest. You’d have to hit a really bad approach to be hitting the 100+‘ putt but I am sure someone has done it They generally put the pin right side forcing you to deal with the deep bunkers.
  6. Yep. My ball was touching the fringe on the front corner and the pin was back right. Made a terrible read on the break and ended up 17 feet away for the second putt (I wasn’t short on the putt just broke a lot). There are some big greens on this course and you can end up with some really long putts if you are on the wrong side if the green.
  7. Until I started testing the Shot Scope Pro LX+ I always just used experience. There are multiple rangefinders on the market that do slope calculations so anyone of them should work.
  8. Pulled it out of the bag last week. Was using my Seemore which was pretty good except on those 3 putts; they were 40, 46, and 89 foot putts.
  9. statistically you can count it however you want. I read about people that count anytime they use a putter as a putt even if they aren't on the green.
  10. Direction is irrelevant it is the order if the ball is touching 2 specific areas. If it is touching both the green and a penalty area, it is in the penalty area based on the order of the list.
  11. I've seen videos that showed this before and it has been discussed here several times. What you don't see in your screenshots is where on the face the ball is being struck. My guess is that the XStiff shaft has enabled the player to make better and more consistent contact on the face. Essentially swing speed is not the main determining factor to what flex should be used and if you can do things to hit the sweet spot more consistently the ball will go farther.
  12. 1) GIR isn't a rule, but it the lie would determine if you could mark the ball. Rule 13.1a applies a. When Ball Is on Putting Green A ball is on the putting green when any part of the ball: Touches the putting green, or Lies on or in anything (such as a loose impediment or an obstruction) and is inside the edge of the putting green. If part of the ball is both on the putting green and in another area of the course, see Rule 2.2c. Rule 2.2c goes on to say: c. Determining Area of Course Where Ball Lies The area of the course where a player’s ball lies affects the Rules that apply in playing the ball or taking relief. A ball is always treated as lying in only one area of the course: If part of the ball is in both the general area and one of the four specific areas of the course, it is treated as lying in that specific area of the course. If part of the ball is in two specific areas of the course, it is treated as lying in the specific area that comes first in this order: penalty area, bunker, putting green. Based on those rules, you were on the green since it was touching the green which is a specific area of the course. 2) Rule 11.1b 11.1 Your Ball in Motion Accidentally Hits Person or Outside Influence a. No Penalty to Any Player If your ball in motion accidentally hits any person or outside influence, including you, any other player or any of your caddies or equipment, there is no penalty to any player. Exception – Ball Played on Putting Green in Stroke Play: If your ball in motion hits another ball at rest on the putting green and both balls were on the putting green before your stroke, you get the general penalty (two penalty strokes). b. Ball Must Be Played as It Lies If your ball in motion accidentally hits any person or outside influence, your ball must be played as it lies, except in two situations: Exception 1 – When Your Ball Played from Anywhere Except Putting Green Comes to Rest on Any Person, Animal or Moving Outside Influence. Exception 2 – When Your Ball Played from Putting Green Accidentally Hits Any Person, Animal or Movable Obstruction (Including Another Ball in Motion) on Putting Green. Based on the rules, you play from where the ball ended up.
  13. Things really clicked with my swing today. 12 Fairways and 16 greens (one was about 3 feet off and the other was due to a penalty off the tee). Putting was my achilles heel as I had 39 putts (3 3 putts) 39/37:76
  14. I think Keegan looks the same but yes, the clubs looks short.
  15. Looks like you should accept the driver as being in a good state and not tweaking it anymore for now. Also, one round isn't a big indicator; keep collecting data and monitoring trends.
  16. I believe I remember you opting out of getting the daily email from the forum

    Best irons

The ones YOU hit that have the smallest dispersion pattern and enable YOU to play YOUR best golf and fit into YOUR budget. I am one of the MGS most wanted testers and can tell you that I would be willing to put any of the clubs we test into my bag if they enabled me to play better golf. Not all of the clubs are best for me because they perform differently but they may be best for someone else.
  18. The questions were addressed during the webinar. I’ll let you watch to get the answer on outdoor testing. I am personally fine with testing whatever and wherever. The problem becomes time, control, and objective measurement
  19. Ahh the memories, made me think of ketchup
  20. Good thing you live in FL where you can use those clubs 365 days a year.
  21. Agree, it is nice to provide access to the guys at headquarters to get some of their perspectives. Even though I am there all the time as a tester, I always learn something new on how/why they do things the way they do. and for those who didn’t join (or did join) and still have tester related questions, I’m happy to give my perspective on the testing, the clubs, and what goes into being a tester.
  22. In my opinion yes. We picked a putter we liked the look of and did what it took to make it work. Basically fit the stroke to the putter. You can be a fabulous putter with this strategy even if the putter and your tendencies conflict. Sometimes if the timing is a little off or you are in a pressure situation the strike may let you down; some might call you a streaky putter. Good putters that built their strokes probably didn’t want to know if the putter doesn’t fit them as it might change your mental state over a putt. I read that Crenshaw never wanted to have his stroke measured Today, we have more options and the ability to configure the putters and we have tools that help measure our strokes and show the impact of the changes. Really no different than changing a shaft or weighting in a full swing club.
  23. since I got Wednesday tickets it may be my last time as well.
  24. Of course, happy to share my thoughts.
