  1. No, they don't provide any roll correction; they are just a milling pattern and mostly impact feel. Another option would be the Bobby Grace insert.
  2. Yep they could go that route as well. It really isn't complete stupid BS. For example in the software industry, companies often pay a software development company to add features to their software or move planned features to the left on their roadmap. Basically, other things that are higher on their priority list.
  3. They do no change the weighting of the putters. They will have us try different hosel types if there are multiple putters submitted and one fits our stroke better; I think there was only one this year that met that criteria. For drivers it was only if the manufacturer submitted multiple shafts and the shafts weren't glued in (yes there are still clubs without adapters) Most wanted testing is designed to test off the shelf clubs in no cost configurations. Basically if you walked in off the street and bought the clubs since that is what the majority of golfers do. The weight kit is an additional cost add-on.
  4. Probably because the trade was no longer valid due to players not being available anymore or Because the offer was withdrawn.
  5. What a about yesterday’s or last weeks divots? The only real solution would be preferred lies in the fairway. If you are in the fairway you get to roll the ball within say 6” of where it stopped....always.
  6. While they are great putters, David doesn’t have a production line and wouldn’t meet the criteria for being part of the test. Basically all the putters must be available without having to do a custom order.
  7. Family. You will never get the same opportunity again with the family. In 10 years you could still accomplish the golf trip.
  8. The courses you play must be immaculate. I would be taking drops all day if that was the basis for the decision.
  9. Also, this years line has no insert. You can get the Newport 2 with no insert.
  10. Covered in the rules of golf https://www.usga.org/content/usga/home-page/rules/rules-2019/rules-of-golf/rule-23.html The players are separate and a loss of hole penalty only applies to the individual player. There is no requirement. For both players to even play the hole and sometimes players never finish the hole.
  11. You probably won’t find a no weight option ever again. There is a market for additional weights and people always seem to want to tinker with the weighting. Changeable weights in putters is like adapters on drivers; Some manufacturers still glue the shaft but it is rare
  12. I have tried the model in the players distance category. All prior generations were hook machines (at least for me) and that could probably be fixed with a fitting but the new models have a new weight design (you can see it on their page) that eliminates that hook bias. I think they have a better feel as well. phillip and I were talking about them and he seems to agree that they are much better and people seem to be getting better performance.
  13. My response would be Gen4. IMO, they are significantly better than the earlier models.
  14. I just looked at the Grint (non pro version) and couldn't figure out how to draw a line across the fairway. All I could do is draw a line to the landing spot that gave me distance from location and distance to green. What I would want to do is put a cone over the fairway to show dispersion and target line.
  15. @Golfspy_CG2 I think you're crazy.
  16. I'd have to pull mine out to look (and I am too lazy to get my phone) but you can draw a line across the fairway or across the green to get widths? I thought it only drew lines from where you are located on the hole.
  17. It was an interesting shot that they showed of Spieth. When Bryson was on 6, Speith stopped to watch Bryson hit his tee shot; to me that shows that rolling back distance isn't really necessary especially when PGA players stop and watch. Who says hitting it longer isn't interesting!
  18. I'll also add Broadie's work for strokes gained; it has changed the way people play/strategize golf.
  19. Back and forth???? I have the AP on the big TV and the LPGA on my iPad.
  20. I want one; but I have no play to put one.
  21. A couple of things that might be considered game changers would be the advancement of materials in woods: persimmon, steel, titanium, and now the incorporation of carbon; the use of milling machines over forgings which allowed for more precision in manufacturing. In the fitting world, it would be the use of shaft adapters/club connex to allow people to try club combinations without fitters having to have glued clubs in stock. Callaway's AI for design will become a game changer; as well as 3D printing.
  22. I Kam going to say enhancement. the Pelz 3 ball was in 1986
  23. Been working with my coach regularly for over a year (and is the only swing coach I have used over the last 10 years); lately we have been working on short game and I have done both in person, video, and launch monitor data analysis with him. Yes, it is all about ball flight and quality and video can show him this. In addition to the video, I will also get some launch monitor data to show the dynamics of my swing.
