  1. If you are talking about this lab test, it was not done with robots. Trust me, I am not a robot
  2. I have them in all three of my hybrids. I think it is an amazing shaft.
  3. don't believe so. Stricker is square, rotations based, minimal wrist hinge. Siechmann is a bit open, more swing than rotation, and more loading with the wrists.
  4. I figured that. I thought you put a mark on the back of the ball and it transferred to the clubhead. Just looked odd with marker on the clubface.
  5. Here is an example where a launch monitor can help you potentially improve. Struggling with my driver and looked at my GC quad numbers. My AoA is down. I am using the gc quad along with some aids to try and hit more up on the ball. Definitely hard to “feel” so the numbers are an important thing. I am not chasing a specific AoA, But trying to build the necessary feels.
  6. Pros don’t miss the center of the face so while it would impact most of us, pros and manufacturers would solve the problem and it would be a very short term fix.
  7. Most definitely. I heard on a podcast where they addressed going back to persimmon drivers and the feedback from manufacturers was that they wouldn’t be built or designed like they used to thus would get better performance.
  8. Couple of comments: I’d suggest reading up on strokes gained. The 10 to 20 yards you discuss does provide an advantage and it isn’t about hitting fairways. Also The faster you swing they farther the ball goes and the farther it goes offline. A 1* open clubface will be farther offline at 300 yards than it is at 200 yards; that is how angles work. While the strategy may not work every hole the percentages play out over time.
  9. While pros can swing up on the ball the average across male pros is that they swing down with the driver. https://blog.trackmangolf.com/trackman-average-tour-stats/ Time and desire is an individual thing and shouldn’t be a blanket statement. There are players that do nothing to improve and there are players that dedicate lots of time to improvement. As with any tool, you have to figure out the best way to use it. I can use a hammer to drive screws and I can use a screwdriver to hit in nails. While that works I don’t get the best performance. Same goes for golf clubs. I can hit down with a driver or I can hit up and I can use tee height to influence. In this case, don’t think the tools are the problem.
  10. If they are equal with regard to performance it becomes personal opinion
  11. Butt Trimming to length is usually done after the club is assembled. So yes, the amount the tip weight extends beyond the tip is taken into account when measuring and butt trimming. If you are talking about tip trimming, you should not factor in the tip weight.
  12. I guess that comment was targeted at me since I am the only most wanted tester that seems to post on here. Honestly it is hard to remember all the individual clubs over the duration of the testing season. That said, Honma was one of the most impressive club lines that I hit last year. I liked them so much that Tr-20 series is in my bag. I always advocate that you try to hit clubs before purchase but as we all know that isn’t always possible or we just have to have some specific club. With that qualification I think Honma makes great clubs and are underrated in the US market because they aren’t well known.
  13. I actually tee the ball a bit lower since I tend to have a descending AoA. Teeing the ball up puts me in danger of skying the ball and losing considerable ball speed since I hit it too high on the face. Because if this my distance lass Is negligible. Not sure it will solve the “distance problem” as many pga pros hit down with the driver.
  14. I personally would ignore toe hang and focus on which one you can start online and control distance. I could give you different weight putters with the same toe hang and they would perform differently.
  15. Saw boxes of them yesterday; as has been said they are smaller than I thought but are pretty cool. The Velcro closure is a nice touch. I told Phillip I was going to wait for the magnetic closure [emoji23]
  16. Dumb question, I always thought the dry erase marker went on the ball and not the clubface?????
  17. that may work for you. You need to remember swingweight and total weight are two completely different things. Also changing the weight of components impacts club performance. Although tip weights are a standard way to do things, you are free to do something else. but if you all your components and the grip one one clubs is a gram or two heavier and the clubhead is a gram or two lighter you have changed the swingweight and need to figure out how to get the value correct. tip weights, lead tape on the head, and powder down the shaft are really your only options unless you want to play it like it is.
  18. send your complaint to MSN; the link worked 3 years ago.
  19. It is a great putter. I have a ten s from last year and when I tried the 2 ball version I was impressed with how it performed. The look is slightly different than the Ten I have and I prefer the older look. If I could add the 2 ball option to my putter I would make the modification. If you are looking for a mallet that has that spider look this would be a good option.
  20. Matt provides some good perspectives especially for people that don’t think they are good/consistent enough to be fit.
  21. Don’t know who you tried to contact or what address you used. The teeless driver and the backing was legitimate. I say was because it may have changed hands since my interaction a few years ago. It is possible that the email on the site was incorrect or changed; people make mistakes; or you typed the wrong address. While not ideal, that type of mistake happens and yes leaves a negative perception but if you are interested in a product and the general feedback is good I don’t see an issue. As your first post, I would have hoped for more info about you and not just a bashing of a company.
  22. You best bet would be to understand the type of equipment available; which it seems you have done, and what is involved in a fitting so you can better communicate with the fitter. Define your goals, what you want out of the fitting, how heads, shafts, loft, lie, and grips influence the fitting. Learn how you should prepare for a fitting. The biggest issue with a fitting is that people go in blind and don’t understand the process and don’t communicate with the fitter.
  23. Here are a couple of articles to read; I think they provide some great ideas on preparation and expectations. https://pluggedingolf.com/there-is-no-perfect-fit/ https://pluggedingolf.com/your-club-fitting-was-not-a-bad-day/
  24. GI irons are just fine for low handicappers; it us about what works for you. Eager to try the zx4s, srixon is one of the most underrated iron makers in the market.
