  1. Today the weather was terrific, 55* - 80*. I faltered and shot a 43/43:86. I had 2 penalties, on the same hole. No birdies.
  2. I wear size 8.5 narrow to medium so I am very particular in my shoes. Because i rotate my shoes play3 times a week they tend to last. I now have 17 pair of various brands . FJ, Puma, Ecco, Nike, Duca del Cosme and a Chinese pair from Temu….lol.
  3. My Story…. In 1959, the City of Frankfort, Kentucky opened a new park called Juniper Hills, located just west of the city. Juniper Hills included a Par 72, 18 Hole rolling terrain golf course and an Olympic size swimming pool. My Grandfather and his buddies joined the club and began playing every week. I was only 8 yrs old, but my Grandfather decided I was old enough to be his caddy. So I began my golfing career pulling a Bagboy pull-cart filled with Powerbilt golf clubs up and down the rolling terrain of Juniper Hills. As a caddy, I learned the rules of golf and how the game was played. My first set of clubs were a hodgepodge set of old hickory shafted clubs, leftovers from my Grandfather’s old clubs. Ones that he took to Africa when he was building a sawmill to harvest mahogany wood for office furniture in 1948-49. He was a Civil Engineer. They carved out some land in the jungles of the Gold Coast(now Ghana) for a 9 hole course and played it for their recreation. Sadly, today I only have the putter left, so it hangs on the wall above my desk at home. I progressed from the hickory sticks to used Powerbilts that were my Grandfather’s. At age 10, I got my first set of cleats(steel spikes of course). I felt like I was king of the world when I walked around the clubhouse area going clickety-clack, clickety-clack. I spent my summers at Juniper Hills, just a mile from my home, caddying in the mornings then either hawking lost balls, putting for pennies or playing in the hot Summer afternoons. I witnessed a Hole in one at age 13 when one of my friends aced the 140 yard Par 3 #6. For my High School Graduation, my Grandfather gave me a new set of Powerbilt irons. I got my Ace in August, 1985 at Pine Ridge Country Club in Winnfield, LA. When I moved to Florida in 1987, I was a 10 Handicap, gaming Nicklaus Muirfield irons. Unfortunately, I was either working, or playing with my 4yr old daughter so I did not get much time to retain my handicap and watched it slip to an 18. Fast forward through the years to now, I have been playing with a 6” steel plate, 13 screws & an inch of my left hip bone in my left wrist (ice skating accident in 1998). The inch of my left hip was to make both arms the same length again. Because of the injury, my handicap ballooned to the mid 20’s for several years, so I moved to graphite irons to reduce as much vibration as possible. I was able to get my handicap back down to 13 for a few months in 2011, but that did not last. For the past several years, I have been an 18. My course handicap is 10 as we play from the Senior tees (5,033 yards). I also have two Ligaments damaged in my Left Ankle(too many ankle sprains). The Dr’s offered surgery but I declined because I was not ready to stay off of it for 4 to 6 months and the surgery was not a given success. I am an Accountant(Ky State Univ. 1977) that retired in Jan 2017 after 40 years mostly in healthcare and played 4 days a week wearing an ankle brace. I got tired of the brace and decided to play without it. I know when it is weak, I can slap on the brace. My drives usually range from 185 to 205, with an occasional 220 and my 6i is my 150 yard club. I am now 73 years old and play golf 3 times every week. After 22 years, I retired from running the Saturday Game, that routinely had 44 - 50 players. I joined a different club, Heritage Isles, and play Mon/Wed/Fri with a dozen guys aging from 65 to 84. • I have previously reviewed Cobra Bio Cell, Cobra F6 irons and Cobra F8 Full Bag Challenge for My Golf Spy. All were excellent sticks for a mid to high Handicaper. I also reviewed the Evnroll ER6 putter and Tour Edge CBX119 4 hybrid as well as golf balls by Bridgestone and Maxfli. Most recently I reviewed the Speed Sticks and currently testing the Mindset by Bridgestone. • My Bag is as follows: Vice Cart Bag, Driver: PXG 10.5* 0311 XF (Gen 5) driver with PX Cypher Senior shaft; Fairway Woods: PXG 0211 5 and 7 wood with PX Evenflo Riptide regular shafts & Tour Edge E523 9 Wood with Fubuki HD regular shaft. Irons: Titleist T300 5-9 + PW(43*) with Fubuki MV Senior shafts. Wedges: Edison 49* 53* & 57* with KBS PGI 80 gram graphite shafts. Putter is Evnroll ER2 with Evnroll Gravity Grip. • I use the Shot Scope X5 watch for recording my rounds and a Pinned rangefinder to get an accurate distance to the pin. • My current ball is the Maxfli Tour/Tour S/Tour X CG. I also game the Titleist Tru Feel in cooler months.
  4. Put my Evnroll ER2 back in the bag and dropped my putts to a season low 27 putts! I also dropped my score to 38/37:75, my best round since changing clubs to Heritage Isles 16 months ago. FIR 5/14 36% GIR 7/18 39% with 3 Birdies(#2 Par 5, #8 Par 3 & #12 Par 4) so I guess I birdied for the cycle! BTW, I gamed a Bridgestone E6 ball today.
  5. Just purchased a couple gravity grips for my EVNROLL putters(ER6 & ER2).
  6. I switched out my putter this week and put a blade into play(Bellum Winmore Model 707). Bad decision, had 43 putts on Tuesday then 39 on Wednesday. 44/46:90 followed by 43/46:89. I switched putters to try and combat the faster greens and thought a blade would work……not!
  7. I played Recoils for several years and liked them. When I switched to senior shafts I selected Fubuki mv as they had a tighter dispersion than others. I also like the KBS PGi shafts in my wedges.
  8. Ordered two Evnroll Gravity Grips for my putter stash….
  9. My Titleist T300’s were fit with Fubuki MV Senior shafts. Much tighter dispersion than other tested shafts. Last month been gaming the Maxfli Tour S in yellow.
  10. Lately I have been getting 3 - 4 rounds before “retiring” a ball. Love my Maxfli Tour/Tour S/Tour X balls.
  11. When I retired in 2016 I Ranger/Starter for my club(Pebble Creek) for 3 1/2 years….which is now closed. Does that count?
  12. Monday was just okay, shooting a 42/45:87 Today(Wed) shot a 42/40:82 with 2 Birdies (Par 5 #7 & Par 4 #10) with sustaining winds @ 18 mph & gusts to 40 mph. Both rounds were somewhat experimental as I benched my 5W & 7W, replacing them with a 20* 3H and a 23* 4H. The hybrids are Power Bilt Air Force One hybrids from my closet. So far they have performed well.
  13. Powerbilt was the go to club when I grew up in the 50’s. Fuzzy Zoeller was the Man in the 60’s playing them on tour. I gamed the Power Bilt Citations for 20 years. In the early 2000’s I tried the Power Bilt Air Force One clubs with nitrogen infused. Years later AFO division split with PB to create their own brand. Then poof, they all disappeared.
  14. Cool this morning with 55* - 75* and Sunny. Bad day today, shooting 43/44/87. FIR 6/14 43% GIR 3/18 17% with 32 putts. No birdies! Ugh! Longest drive was 221 yards. Good news is only 32 putts, using my old Nike Method Core Drone. I also substituted a Cobra F6 4 iron for my PXG 0211 7W…..bad decision.
  15. With the technology that is out there for putters, you can get a very good one for $300 - $400….maybe $500. I still have a handful in my closet so at my age I am probably not buying anymore.
  16. Georgeous weather this morning at Heritage Isles, overcast with 69* - 80*. I shot a 45/39:84 with only 1 birdie(par 3 #16), Longest Drive was 218 yds, FIR 10/14 71% GIR 10/18 56% and a whopping 38 putts….again.
  17. Today I shot 40/46:86 at Heritage Isles, with 11 course handicap, I shot net 75 on a par 72 course. FIR 7/14 50% GIR 9/18 50% with a wapping 38 putts. Longest Drive was 220 on par 4 #12(drove the green) had 2 birdies today, par 4 #4 and par 4 #12.
  18. In Florida, poanna is a weed when found on our greens…
  19. Played Silverado today, shot a 41/41:82 with 1 birdie(Par 4 #9) and 34 putts.
  20. Wednesday, Shot a 45/37:82 with 1 birdie(Par 4 #12). With an 11 Hcp, netting a 1 under 71. FIR 6/14 43% GIR 7/18 39% and 30 Putts. Longest drive was 210 yds. Weather was Sunny with a brisk 45* - 65*
  21. Evnroll ER-6 Red made for me by Guerin Rife a few years back, say 2018.
  22. Shot a 45/37:82 with 1 birdie(Par 4 #12). With an 11 Hcp, netting a 1 under 71. FIR 6/14 43% GIR 7/18 39% and 30 Putts. Longest drive was 210 yds. Weather was Sunny with a brisk 45* - 65*
