  1. Gonna start your day with some cheesiness, haha. This idea is courtesy of my 9 year old nephew. I'll include a picture of him playing golf at 6 years old, his swing is better than mine. On the course, with my Cobras in hand, I feel the power, I feel the command. The grip is firm, the stance is straight, With all these new clubs my game will be great. I take a glance, and then a swing, The ball flies through the air with a mighty ring. It lands on the green, just a few feet away, Birdies galore, this is the new way.
  2. Haha, I hear ya. I wish I could do one with them as well. I'm pretty sure @Golfspy_CG2 did one with them and it was a video on the TXG channel! I may be wrong but I'm certain I'm remembering that right.
  3. Spring games are happening all over the country! Anybody attended or attending your team's game? We have ours this weekend and will be making the trip down to see what year 2 under Clay Helton is going to look like. Being a donor and super involved with our Athletics, my nephew and I are getting a private tour of some of the new facilities after the game which should be a good time. I still don't think anything will top running out of the tunnel onto the field with the team a couple years ago, that was electric. It was such a different feeling than being in the stands or even on the sideline.
  4. I used to be a staff writer/reviewer for Golfballed.com, a different golf forum that has now become just a social media content creation type of platform and no longer has a forum. During my time there I was lucky enough to attend the PGA Merchandise Show in Orlando a few times and met a ton of people in the golf industry. To keep this thread about Cobra only I'll just say that one of the people I met is still in the industry and I reached out to Ian for his help on doing a review. I only know them on a professional basis but Ian has always been a nice guy and is as smart as they come when it comes to club fitting. I'm happy to explain it better elsewhere!
  5. Good morning, friends! Today's work day will crawl, as is normally the case when you're looking forward to something after work. Surprising my nephew with a trip to watch our Georgia Southern Eagles play baseball this evening! Been a rough year for our boys after being nationally ranked last year but he attends their camp each year and has become buddies with most of the team so thankfully he's like me and loves the team regardless of record. They're five hours from us but are coming to play a school only an hour away! Hope everyone has a great day!
  6. I love Ian, Matt, and the TXG guys! They were a blast to work with when I sent them some wedges for testing. Weird not seeing Ian in the video but I think he's at Bay Hill for a few days.
  7. Hope it helps! Don't know if you've heard of Birdie Balls, they're a training aid that are limited flight but fly true. Super fun to play with and a great way for kids to practice too. They have a strike mat to hit off of that have a club path printed on it for both lefty and righty, might be worth looking at if you've got somewhere to use them. I love anything visual that helps me swing on the right path.
  8. So in this picture I've got it set up for myself as a righty, but I'd stand parallel to the blue stick and swing along the white one. I typically put the ball close enough to the stick so I can avoid making contact with it. Really helps to enforce the idea of swinging on that line. If it feels like you're aimed too much at shortstop, move it closer to pointing back to the pitcher but keep that slant to force yourself to swing on that path. Glad you played baseball so I can use those terms, it's always how I explain it haha.
  9. Definitely, I'll grab mine and head to the yard when I get a second. But as a lefty you'd have a stick parallel like me but with one pointing towards shortstop. My nephew is a southpaw as well so I've had to get used to swapping things around when teaching him.
  10. HOLY COW! I took my ZX7 7-iron to a launch monitor and tried it out against the Cobra KING Forged Tec. First, these things are beautiful. They were much more compact than what I had imagined for this type of club. Loft on my 7 iron is 31º and on the Cobra it is 29.5º. I was hitting my Srixon around 189 average which is close to what I see on the course, it's definitely what I pull from 185-190 out. Then I hit the Cobra, expecting 193 or so with only 1.5º difference in loft. Nope, try 198, 197, 201, 200, 198 on the first five shots. That's nuts! A 200 yard 7 iron... Managed to get a look at the camera footage behind the simulator screen, you can literally see the ball breaking through the screen on fire. I know it looks animated/cartoon like but ignore that, it's actual security camera footage.
  11. I used to come over the top just a little bit and to fix it I used two alignment sticks. One would be parallel to my feet pointed at my target, the other was angled slightly to the right like where a second baseman would be playing if I'm in the batter's box. Then I would place a ball just a little out from the angled stick and would swing along that plane. I was trying to overexaggerate the feeling so that I would find a happy medium. With that drill I would hit push draws that were awesome but I really just wanted to hit straight with a baby draw. Once I took the sticks away I was able to get my desired result. I still go back to that drill if things start getting a little over the top again.
  12. Once I went to customize the club it let me add it to the cart. Here is my beautiful setup, complete with a navy blue colored bag for my Georgia Southern Eagles.
  13. Rob, here is what has transpired in the 30 minutes since you posted this. Seeing I was disqualified: Reclaiming my bonus points: Realizing I'm back in the running!
  14. It's nothing special but it has always been home to me. Started playing here when I was 4 years old and played my high school golf here. Bought a house here 7 years ago and really enjoy it. The course is pretty nice from May-July but they don't do a great job of maintenance once it gets busy so after that window it starts looking rough. You should come up and play it sometime!
  15. Haha, I have seen some things like this before living on the course here and I promptly turn them all in. Unfortunately someone hit one of the local courses in a Jeep doing this same thing instead of a golf cart so the damage was much more severe. They got him on camera but it was at night and they never could find the person.
  16. Whitepath Golf Course in Ellijay. I live on the 6th hole so it's easy to rush over and tee off right after work and be done before baseball practice starts. I almost always play elsewhere on weekends though since I have time to go anywhere.
  17. Like we all haven't done this already, haha. A couple products are showing out of stock so I can't add them to cart but here's what I'd love to bag! AEROJET Driver 10.5° AEROJET Fariway 3W 15° AEROJET 3H 19° KING Forged Tec (Black if possible) 4-PW SNAKEBITE wedges (Black if possible) 50°, 55°, and 60° KING 3D Printed Supernova
  18. Weekends are best for me if I'm travelling to play, I've got work M-F and only have time to play at my home course. Our baseball season ends in May and then my weekends are wide open.

    NHL

You heard about us trying to lure a team here, right? It's been a rumor for a few weeks but today they announced a new arena being built in Alpharetta that they're hoping an NHL team will call home. We always go to the Atlanta Gladiators games, they're an affiliate of the Arizona Coyotes.
  20. Count me in for a round north of Atlanta! Once our youth baseball season is over in a couple weeks I'll be free to join y'all. @CFreddie @JT434
  21. Do you have an impression counter on it to see how often it has been visited?
  22. The Srixon ZX7 are pure! Haven't hit the newer ones but love mine! I've always played Mizuno irons but the Srixon beat the 223 for me this time around.
  23. Yeah I'm big on fitting, so much so that I've studied it enough that I can fit myself and him. We actually went yesterday and tried about seven different heads and based on the data I changed the shafts out until we found the best results. I've been lucky to gain a lot of knowledge from high end fitters and it has helped with saving on high costs for fitting.
