  1. April showers turned to THIS on the first day of May... Yes, that's snow, with high wind and broken branches...
  2. It looks like it should start getting better in a few days, but as of right now... Sunday 90 % Precip. / 0.22 inShowers early, becoming a steady rain for the afternoon. Windy. Snow may mix in. High 43F. Winds NE at 25 to 35 mph. Chance of rain 90%. Rainfall near a quarter of an inch. Sunday Night 100 % Precip. / 1-3 inWindy with rain changing to snow overnight. Low 31F. Winds N at 20 to 30 mph. Chance of precip 100%. Snow accumulating 1 to 3 inches.
  3. I'll be traveling most of next week and 10 day forecast is showing SNOW for May 1st...
  4. One of our Spring rituals.
  5. Weather here is still pretty spotty, mostly spending time on the range getting ready for my fitting next week. Had surgery in late February and really got out of golf shape. Purpose of fitting is: review / check irons from last Fall's fitting (should be short, as they seem to be pretty good), add hybrid or wood to fill gap between current fairway wood and hybrid (currently 5 1/2 degree gap between clubs) and replace head / driver after denting my current driver head. Generally getting about 100 swings in, split between irons, hybrid and driver 4-5 days a week (either outdoors on range, or indoors if weather is bad) for the past 2 1/2 weeks. I feel like I'm making progress, even if I'm not as physically fit as I'd hoped to be by this time of year.
  6. I ended up in the hospital in February and had some stomach surgery, which really threw me off my winter workouts and I just started swinging clubs again this month.. It's taking WAY too long to get back into golf shape... One day I feel like I'm starting to get some consistency and the next I'm just all over the place.
  7. So sorry for your loss. We're pet people and it's never easy to lose a furry friend.
  8. At least they let you walk off
  9. Even though I'm getting a driver fitting this month, I snatched up a used 913 D2 driver head for $75 to replace the 910 D2 head I dented last fall. If nothing else, I'll finally have a good backup driver.
  10. I've wanted to try out "The Brick," for over a year and setup a putter fitting at Totally Driven (closest Edel fitter) at the end of the month. Since I "dinged" my driver head last year and have a fairway wood / hybrid gap, as long as I'll be in "the neighborhood," I setup fittings at 2nd Swing to find out what Thomas recommends.
  11. 59* yesterday, was able to hit the range for the first time this year. 51* with off & on rain, was able to get to the putting green for about 1/2 hour. Slowly but surely, the season begins!
  12. Just tune into the "News Networks," Stooges are on 24/7.

  14. FINALLY got a chance to hit some golf balls outside!! Wasn't actually able to play a round because my local courses aren't open yet, but the club manager let me ride out to a fairway to hit some balls with my 6 iron while he was doing some maintenance. It will take awhile to get back in golf shape and get consistent swinging, but it was encouraging just to be able to hit balls off real turf. Local courses should be open by the time I get back home next week
  15. Came for the reviews, as they're the only ones I really trust, stayed for the community in the forums.
  16. Sorry to hear about your knee problems. Personally, I'm in MDG's camp on surgery earlier than later. It's not going to get better on its own and could result in more issues if delayed.
  17. We just lost one of our huskies to cancer a few weeks ago, as pain meds could no longer control her pain when she walked. We've had a number of pets over the years (we're old now, too) and it's never easy to lose one.

Sunday Night 80 % Precip. / 1-3 in Snow in the evening will taper off and give way to cloudy skies overnight. Low 14F. Winds NE at 15 to 25 mph. Chance of snow 80%. 1 to 3 inches of snow expected.

  20. Pretty much the same in the upper midwest, we'll have a few days in the 60s, then back to snow on the ground, rinse & repeat...
  21. At this point, still hoping to play golf within the next month, so I'm not seriously planning to purchase anything until I've had at least a few weeks of play to "knock the rust off." That said, I'm very happy with the Ping irons I was fitted for last Fall, and intend to go back to 2nd Swing and get fitted for the top of my bag (Driver, Fairway wood, hybrid). I dented the head on my driver last Fall and it no longer feels the same, need a 2nd fairway wood and I'm still gaming an old Cleveland Hibore hybrid that I've never been able to kick out of the bag with anything else, but doesn't necessarily gap all that well for me. I'd also like to try an Edel fitting at Totally Driven, just because I've never had one and really liked the look and feel of "The Brick," when I tried one at the PGA show last year
  22. Thanks Kenny, so far so good.
  23. Been off my feet for awhile, apparently a virus shut down my stomach and I spent most of last month in and out of the hospital. Hope the weather will be good for golf, once I can drive a ball farther than I can putt one!
