Here’s what I want... a secondary tee club that carries 10-30 yards less than my driver and when it hits the ground it stops... ideally, I’d be able To hit it off the deck, but that’s a want more than a need... basically, I want a 2 wood... I have yet to find an option that works. built a 43 inch 12 degree driver that is ok, but it’s very high spin (shockingly, a 12 degree driver generates a ton of spin)... have tried multiple 13 degree fairway heads and they are fine... but small. Hopefully, cobra will release the long Tom 2 wood again.

That’s a nice area. If you visit him, there is a place right by the zoo called oskars. It’s one of my favorite restaurants in town... they serve sliders, which can scare some people off... but I’ve tried most of the menu and all the options are really good. they also host a Nordic heavy metal night if you want to get real crazy.

So I'm in a similar ball park with some similar issues... Here's what I've done and my though process. 1. Replaced the 4 iron with a driving iron... it's not a huge difference, but I found it gave me some more forgiveness and added a tee club I can hit lower shots with... It's great into the wind. I don't tend to hit my 4 iron that often, as my home course is 6,700 yards, so it's just not a shot I need a ton (occasionally I'll have it in to a par 5)... I also love it for low punch shots out of the trees. At 110+ CHS, I'm in the trees occasionally. 2. Found a hybrid I get along with. I think this is partially a shaft issue, but I also just like my hybrid. I'm playing a 19 degree Sub70. I don't have the lefts with hybrids, but this is built to help prevent them... I think it's a great club... but a "3 hybrid" is definitely worth having in the bag. Launches high and lands soft... it's basically the opposite of my 4 utility. 3. I'm still searching for a good 3 wood. I really just want a secondary tee club that lands and stops... and possibly a secondary option for when my driving is on the fritz. I've done a couple of experiments here, but haven't really found anything great. I'm probably going to reshaft the 3 wood I have with a higher launching shaft... I'd REALLY like a 2 wood, but they aren't really made anymore... At my length and skill, I'm not chasing down par 5s with a 3 wood with any regularity (by that I mean I'm not good enough to hit a par 5 in two from 250 with any consistency), so it's not really a fairway club... A secondary tee club that puts me in the middle at the cost of 25+ yards is a wonderful trade off for me... I have enough holes on my home course that this would make sense... It's still a unicorn, though. I haven't found one. I think both ends of the bag come down to personal preference and what courses you are playing. If you play the same course 80% of your rounds, it makes sense to have a club that is GREAT for one hole and OK for the rest of the course... My bag is basically set up to give me the best scoring options on the course I play most frequently... It will travel fine, but it's built for one course.

Mtb-x is a good ball... I played it last year to not pay Bridgestone pricing... I do think it has some more spin around the green, but I hit the Bridgestone farther... Overall, I like the Bridgestone slightly better and am playing them this year.

Cody is awesome. I did a fitting in his office back in January. Spent $150 on the fitting, $350 on the putter... Cody also offered me a less expensive putter that was almost as good... I figured it was worth it to just buy the “best”... not a ton of difference, overall, but I’m very happy with my putter. the fitting itself was 2+ hours of talking putters, rolling putts and him offering me some help... honestly, the time with Cody was worth the $500. I’m a better putter because of his help. the new putter is the icing on the cake. It’s awesome and the red line “rifle scope technology” just works for me. I’m putting better than I ever have and I’m only beginning to improve. if you are near Nashville, head to seemore.

I love my low bounce 58 jb from sub70... $110 with my length, grip and shaft... as others have said, plenty of good oem options... just depends on what you want. i went low bounce because my sand wedge is high bounce and I like the blend...

I tossed one on a wedge as a $15 experiment... they are not conducive to the type of short wedge shots I hit! Now that I’m taking full swings again, I might try it again... it will definitely keep your wrist stable, but might eliminate the ability to hit a draw...

Kirkland ball is the best value in golf... it’s actually insane. the next cheapest urethane ball is basically double the price... It’s not the perfect golf ball or anything, and the last version spun a bunch... but it’s a decent ball at an insane price. 4 piece ball is hopefully out soon...

I signed up here awhile ago, but haven’t really participated... I’m in Louisville, ky. getting back into golf from a back injury in august.

Just picked up a ventus black cheap and love it... 7x replaced a aldila silver 110 7x I’m coming back to golf from an injury so my swing speed is way down... but it’s good even when not swinging hard.
