  1. Man I would not trust something like that to DSG. Some of the glued hosels may be bendable but I think the easier answer these days is to just get one that you can adjust up or down with the hosel adapter sleeve. Sent from my Pixel 3 using MyGolfSpy mobile app
  2. I know that high toe doesn't do anything for me as I tend to be a pretty shallow low bounce guy, but from a nostalgia standpoint I love bringing back the eye 2. Will probably buy on that alone Sent from my Pixel 3 using MyGolfSpy mobile app
  3. My club does the same sort of thing and then the GM will swear up and down it's all a break even. I'm like, uh my phone has a calculator. Sent from my Pixel 3 using MyGolfSpy mobile app
  4. I haven't found them to be low spin at all, but I only have my own 785 set and have not done head to head vs other sets. I think they hold well though the wind but have not noticed any issue with stopping power whatsoever. I could see the 5 series being a little hotter than 919 forged, but I think the 7 is a more direct comp to that particular Mizzy Sent from my Pixel 3 using MyGolfSpy mobile app
  5. Fwiw it looks as if you're out over your toes quite a bit, which can definitely make it more difficult to turn much in the backswing. I'd like to see you sitting down a touch more at address with weight more toward the heels Sent from my Pixel 3 using MyGolfSpy mobile app
  6. I'm going to treat this question seriously just in case the OP is not simply trolling (though I believe he is). Golf requires gazelle-like strength, not elephantine brute force and has similarities to many other athletic endeavors. NHL hockey players, NFL kickers, ballet dancers, soccer players, javelin throwers, tennis players etc all use some form of coil, post and release that we see in top level golf swings. None of them look like power lifters. In face large muscle mass without speed through the kinetic chain is less athletic and less useful than the golf swing. Good for moving refrigerators and grunting at a mirror at the gym. No good for moving like an athlete. Sent from my Pixel 3 using MyGolfSpy mobile app
  7. Be careful with your thought process as it relates to home course. Knowing a course well can have its own pitfalls if you tend to get ahead of yourself thinking about score, or if you dwell too much on what you should've done or normally do. In competition the goal is to play the shot in front of you and then move on to the next one Sent from my Pixel 3 using MyGolfSpy mobile app
  8. First tournament round since last season. I was first off at 8 am and it was 42 degrees and breezy. I hung in there most of the day but made a 9 on a very easy par 5 with two balls in the water and a 3 putt. A couple shots thrown away after that added up to a dispirited 78. 9. How much are you looking to trim off it? If you're butt trimming from 46-45" I wouldn't worry about it too much. It should play a trifle stiffer but will probably be hard to quantify much performance change. I suspect as driver shafts have gotten longer the OEMs are just cutting them longer rather than reengineering to the new longer length. You should gain a bit more control and may actually hit it longer if you hit the shorter length more solidly. Sent from my Pixel 3 using MyGolfSpy mobile app
  10. I'm a big Rush fan so obviously biased. But I offer that Rush's style constantly evolved because they were always growing and changing as musicians. They said many times they could have made another Moving Pictures, but why? They had already done that and wanted to explore the next idea. I didn't love all of their early concept work, and I didn't necessarily love the synth phase, but looking back I appreciate that they were always willing to pursue what they were interested in. That's the opposite of selling out imo Sent from my Pixel 3 using MyGolfSpy mobile app
  11. A player with sound technique will be able to adapt to the equipment. A weaker player really needs to be in equipment that does what it can to help correct his faults. So I guess my answer is the better you are, the less the arrow matters. Sent from my Pixel 3 using MyGolfSpy mobile app
  12. So if it's hooking then you know one thing for sure- the face is closed to the path at impact. Whether that's because the face is pretty neutral and the path is way too much inside out, or because the path is fairly neutral and the face is shut is what you need to figure out. But at least knowing that first part helps you on the road to discovery Sent from my Pixel 3 using MyGolfSpy mobile app
  13. In team events the USGA recommends that players only receive 80% of their handicap for this very reason. As handicaps climb the amount of outlier scores two very high handicap partners are capable of shooting increases dramatically. 80% of 1 is still a 1 but a 25 loses 5 strokes in that scenario. Another commonly used option is a team max handicap, usually 36 or 40. Sent from my Pixel 3 using MyGolfSpy mobile app
  14. Remember Anthony Kim? That dude was halfway to the steel w everything Sent from my Pixel 3 using MyGolfSpy mobile app
  15. I know there are probably a lot of things causing this position, but if you could get to where your left arm was in line with your right shoulder more at the top it would have to make it easier to get back to impact from there Sent from my Pixel 3 using MyGolfSpy mobile app
  16. I'll chime in, absolutely play the Island Club your last day there and stay in Malahide. It's very close to the Dublin airport and a thrilling topsy-turvy gorse covered links. Also Ardglass is on my list for that side of the country. European Club to the south in Wicklow is amazing. Portmarnock Old didn't do much for me tbh. Sent from my Pixel 3 using MyGolfSpy mobile app
  17. As long as it finds the fairway who cares what it's called? If you know it and can do it that's a good shot in my book. I say this as a former hooker and current hooker who would love to move it the other way Sent from my Pixel 3 using MyGolfSpy mobile app
  18. It's a very weird system. I believe it is a rolling 24 months so based on what happened in an event 2 years ago those points rolling off now really matter. I guess in your instance if DJ accumulated a bunch of points 2 years ago this week and they all dropped off now then he's going backwards. Meanwhile if JR didn't play in that event he didn't get any points then that he's losing now so he has a net gain over DJ. Sent from my Pixel 3 using MyGolfSpy mobile app
  19. Or even one ball from another in the same dozen? I'm wondering if that's going to be the ultimate takeway, that there are good ones and bad ones in each box Sent from my Pixel 3 using MyGolfSpy mobile app
  20. The upside is a lot of very discounted products for those willing to be patient for a season or so. If I buy a new driver it's usually last year's model or late in the model year and normally 50-60% of original price. 10-15 years ago drivers were $299-$399 depending on the model so things really have not moved all that much
  21. Since it's April, allow me a Master's opinion- Pimento Cheese Sandwiches are totally butt. Inedible mass of gelatinous grossness. Sent from my Pixel 3 using MyGolfSpy mobile app
  22. Of course Sent from my Pixel 3 using MyGolfSpy mobile app
  23. Hey let me tell you sumthin. Sam Snead was the best damn driver of the ball the game has ever seen and he NEVER used no 460 cc G4M5BigBertha's Fat Ass piece of titanium crap! Every time I see some hack with one of those oversize pieces of garbage I know they can't drive the ball outta their dam shadow. Dustin Johnson my ass! Sent from my Pixel 3 using MyGolfSpy mobile app
