  3. The Holy-Grail of Putter Collectibles Ping putters have become what baseball cards are are to millions of kids and adults all across the country. A true collectible. On any given weekend you can find the collector's driving from yard sale to yard sale in search of one of the many holy-grails that exist in the Ping Putter Collector's world Ping Putter Collector's Guide (by: Lumpy) Only problem is that finding a Ping Putter Guide to tell you anything about the putter you just bought for $1.50 our your neighbor is sometimes a harder find then the actual putter itself. So when an MGS reader sent us this copy of a Ping Putter Collector's Manual from a popular putter forum called PutterTalk.com we felt like we had to share it with the rest of you guys. If you are a putter collector you most likely have already heard of the site but if not go check it out. They have some great info about almost every putter maker both big and small. From what we know...the writer of the book goes by the name Lumpy, and here is a quote from Lumpy about the Ping Putter Guide that he has put together: "I am finally ready to post my book on Ping putters that I started putting together a few years ago after years & years of collecting & searching for info. I spent many years working on putting the pieces together for this book. I have never desired to nor will ever desire to make this book available for sale. It contains original ads & a few photos that were provided to me by other collectors/sources for the book. Most of the photos in the book were taken by me of items that passed through me to other collectors or pieces I owned at one time or another. I have no desire profiting from someone else's work & really feel as if I have no right to. I think putting my reference guide on this website for everyone to have free access to would - for me - complete a long journey that I have spent helping others find out facts about the early Ping putters." Lumpy Save It...Print It...Pass It On This document is in the form of a PDF...so you can save it to your computer and read it whenever you like or you can print it off and make your own book out of the PDF to put on the shelf in your office or shop. And if you know someone else you think might like the info make sure to send them a link to the Ping Putter Guide. And oh yeah...go tell Lumpy thanks over at PutterTalk.com if you get a chance. Below is a example of one of the PDF's printed out, you can click on the book or the link below it to download the Ping Putter Guide. Click Here: To Download The Ping Collector's Manual
  4. Glad to see you on the forum ;)

  5. Thanks Nic really appreciate the compliments about the sites content.
  6. Nah...this is just ones you love to look at.
  7. Well Gauge Design Japan does makes some primo LOOKING stuff but has a bad rap overseas because of...well for many owner issues in the past. And their designs do look great but many are not too sound design wise and seem to be somewhat misleading on materials as well sometimes from what we have found. Gauge Design US was actually around first and is run by David Whitlam. It is such a confusing and unfortunate story. But just on looks alone I think that the Gauge Design is a favorite for sure. Hopefully David will join the forum and clear this up on here like he has other forums. It really hurt his brand.
  8. That is Gauge Design Japan not Gauge Design US. Huge difference. I am sure that story will get told on here before too long.
  9. Give this system that we built a try it will do all the work for you and help find your set: http://www.50dollargolf.com/add-an-alert/
  10. Looks wise the Gauge Design Japan's are my favs but they are not a good set of sticks. But damn good to look at. The actual design of them is not good. Not much R&D went into them other then drawing up something that looked cool.
  11. Got one of the Vega's up there Robbo. Geotech and Royal Collection makes some nice looking heads but Geotech uses mostly open models overseas and those RC's are an open model and have been done by almost everyone. I tried to make a mix of classics and unique ones in this list.

  13. TOKYO — The Tokyo District Court has ordered Acushnet Japan Inc, a local unit of U.S. golf equipment manufacturer Acushnet Co, to pay about 1.78 billion yen in damages to Japan's Bridgestone Sports Co for golf ball patent infringement. The court ruled in favor of the subsidiary of tire maker Bridgestone Corp, which had argued that 11 of Acushnet's products, including the top-selling Titleist Pro V1 ball, infringed on its patent portfolio covering solid core golf ball technology. Bridgestone Sports had sought about 5.6 billion yen in damages. A similar patent infringement lawsuit filed by Bridgestone Sports in the United States led to a settlement in September 2007, in which Acushnet pay Bridgestone a license fee.
  14. At this pace you might be one of the winners of the contest ;)

  15. Off to a great start with the posts Golfware ;)

  16. I caught you...trying to snoop on a spy huh?

  17. 1. Adding 2 clubs to the bag would be little to no difference in speed of the player because of weight issues. I feel like golfers hitting errant shots because they have to adapt a club to be something its not leads to shots in places that take longer to play in general. 2. OEMS have done this with drivers but the majority of people would be adding wedges and hybrids from the data we have gotten. 3. Being creative can still be done but with the correct club for the distance. Does not mean you cant learn different types of shots with it.
  18. Food for thought though...why not though have a club that performs its actual distance and therefore not have to adapt your swing for each club as much to change distance. And also how do you think 16 club rule could actually hurt golf?
  19. I totally agree. I think it would help the game in a lot fo ways and also be a stimulus package for the industry as well. I see no down sides to it for the recreational golfer.
  20. Should it change...recently talked to a big wig in the industry and he thinks it would help tremendously for recreational golfers. Extra wedge and hybrid in the bag maybe...could it hurt the game or help the game? What do you think fellas?
  21. I have to agree this was a nice piece he came up with.
  22. Right below the search box on the top there is a "View New Content" button that should help. I will see if we can make it more prominent too.
  23. He has definitely got the marketing game down for sure Tim.
