  1. I've been playing a Krank Rage for 10 years and stick with it mostly because I can keep it in play. I've also had the Element and both frankly are quality clubs and I feel they did a nice job fitting me over the phone but my next driver (in the next few months most likely) will be something I've been fitted for after hitting so it likely won't be a Krank.
  2. How long have you been playing golf? What’s your handicap or normal score? I've been playing for 25 years, currently a 10.4 but thankfully trending downward. What do you love about golf? In one way or another it's how I've made a living, former superintendent now in sales in the golf industry. My initial draw and perhaps favorite thing about the game remains the people I've met and experiences I've been afforded. What brings you to MyGolfSpy? Do you already know any other Spies? I've been following mygolfspy since around 2010 or shortly thereafter, it started with ideas on how to customize clubs as I've been a garage gluer for many years. I still enjoy that and the other aspects of the forum but also really enjoy the analytics that come out of testing and labs. Where are you from? What is your home course? Currently reside in the north suburbs of Chicago. My home course is wherever I can get a game basically. Recently joined a local based golf society which plays all around the area. What are the best and worst things about golf in your region? The best thing is the quality of accessible golf courses and competition among them equates to really good conditions overall. The worst thing is pace of play on weekends and trying to play in the winter... What do you do for a living? I sell commercial, robotic mowers as well as a range picker. How’d you pick your user name? First name plus the date of my first (and to this point only) hole in 1, October 19.
  3. So back in mid-March I decided to take on a new project after clearing the honey do list. I picked up a Scotty Cameron Caliente Grande which I know isn't a favorite of Mr. Cameron but it has a really nice shape and was inexpensive to pick up and play with. The club had a lot of bag chatter and to my surprise was engraved on the toe with the Allegra logo which is a little humorous given my significant allergies. Sand paper, a file, and a lot of elbow grease later and I actually really like the results. I may yet use a triangle file on the center alignment groove to get rid of a few more dings but for now I'm enjoying the putter and how the sun reflects off of the sand lines. Heel and toe are finished with 220 grit at 45* angles and 500 grit in the center. With the paint fill I did a play on Scotty because my name is Scott so it's a Scott-y Cameron putter now.
