  1. Ping called me yesterday to confirm my specs on the re-shaft of my S-55's with Steelfiber 110 stiff. Supposed to be back to me by Tuesday of next week. Pretty excited to try those when I get the chance.
  2. They had it shut down for Ryder Cup prep when I was there, but the asst pro took me in a cart around Hazeltine National. It's so big, it makes you feel dwarfed. By the numbers, its a beast and I'm not sure we have a harder course by par/slope in the state? 7,674 yards, 78.0/155. That's a LOT of course. Of the courses locally that I have played, The Wilds in Prior Lake, MN is a pretty tough test. 7,012 yards, 74.4/154.
  3. Used to wear one everyday to work. My insulin pump has a clock on it, so I always have the time. I like the watch though and wear it when I do get a little more dressed up. Seiko Kinetic all titanium. Very light. Just have to shake it a few times to get it going and set the time if I haven't worn it for a long time. I try to take as few things to be potentially stolen to the course with me as possible, so the watch stays home.
  4. Finally! Got my initial two rounds of the season in on Friday and Saturday. Friday was good. Sunny and 60º. Played pretty darn well. 38-38-76. New driver, new hybrid, irons I hadn't touched for a couple seasons, and new wedges, so really good all things considered. 3 birdies on the day (reached two par 5's in two for eagle opps/easy birdies.) Saturday was cooler; 50º. Little tired/sore from the maiden voyage the previous day. Hit it pretty good again, but missed by a few feet here and there that cost me. 40-39-79. Made birdie on 18 anyway to keep it in the 70's. Good start to the season, and my home course came through the winter really nicely with great greens. Should be a good season!
