  1. Looks similar to something I reviewed a couple years ago, but with the lasers. Remember that guy, X, the one who threatened to sue us over the review?
  2. My current three gamers: Byron Morgan Epic Day Bettinardi SS11 Byron Morgan 006 w/Tom Slighter re-working I've owned a couple "nicer" putters, but, to me, nothing is nicer than making putts.
  3. Thanks for asking. The full swing testing with the counter weights is done. Now we need to figure out what all the numbers mean and write it up.
  4. It's good that my putter specs are so hard to find. Just fought off a serious putter buying itch because I couldn't find anything that would work.

Come on now. How are your going to help the putter economy with that attitude?

  5. On election day, I offer some advice on how to make an equally important decision: new irons. http://mattsaternusgolf.blogspot.com/2012/11/what-kind-of-irons-should-i-play.html

  6. The plan is to look at both putters and full-swing clubs.
  7. I've been messing around with counter weighting a bit, though not in a scientific enough fashion (yet) to say anything conclusive. We do plan on putting counter weighting through an MGS Lab in the near future. But then again, if you listen to the people out front, those aren't worth s*** anyway. FWIW, it's a relatively inexpensive experiment, certainly cheaper than swapping shafts all over the place.
  8. New post at www.mattsaternusgolf.blogspot.com on how to get the most out of a golf lesson.

  9. If you can't get enough of me, check out www.mattsaternusgolf.blogspot.com where I talk about golf instruction.

Looks promising Matt - have it bookmarked!

  10. Congrats on the double eagle, Richard! An awesome accomplishment, and not too far removed from you "unofficial" ace, if I remember correctly. You're heating up!
  11. I know you weren't asking me, but I'll throw in my two cents: I think the point you're missing in James' response is the idea of not going to the range unless you're working on something. I would agree with this. Too many people go to the range to meaninglessly beat balls. If you have no intent for your practice, it is unlikely you will derive any major benefit. It could be something technical like a certain position you're trying to ingrain, it could be tempo, or it could be hitting certain types of shots, but you need to have something specific that you're working on when you go to the range.
  12. I've heard this quite often, but the only thing I tee up is my driver. Doesn't matter how much I push the tee down, putting a ball on the tee makes me think "Swing up."
  13. One of our members suggested that instead of having questions sent to some of our resident pros via PMs or scattered amongst other threads, the questions could be all filed here so that everyone could benefit. So, if you have a question for James from Golf Circuit or any of the other pros who frequent the site, post them here.
  14. I can't say that I'm terribly impressed, especially for $250. To call this a launch monitor is...a stretch. It measures ballspeed and that's it. To extrapolate distance on ball speed alone is suspect. Depending on launch angle and spin, you can see huge variances in distance, especially with the driver.
  15. Those old Teryllium putters are awesome, and that's a killer refinish. Really nice work. Almost makes me want to find one cheap and try it myself.
  16. My standard line: "I take both golf and drinking too seriously to mix the two." I've never had a drink on the golf course and likely won't change. I get to play so infrequently that I really want to play my best and focus on the game. I enjoy a drink after the round.
  17. I was at a demo day recently at a fairly snooty country club and the Cobra-Puma guy was bumping tunes the entire time. Not uber-loud, but noticeable from one end of the range to the other. Live the image, I guess. I liked it.
  18. I would love to be able to make a claim like this. One day...
  19. If I'm walking by myself early in the morning I might listen to music...ON HEADPHONES.
  20. I'm surprised that you say that, I found the Bomb Your Driver Series disappointing. Wasn't much I hadn't seen, read, or heard elsewhere. I do think the downswing stuff is great. I feel like so much of it speaks directly to the things I fight.
