Golf bags- stand or cart, and why?
Shannon Severson replied to Rob Person's topic in Golf Bags & Carts
It has a massive cooler pouch right in front. Would fit a 12 pack no problem...... -
Golf bags- stand or cart, and why?
Shannon Severson replied to Rob Person's topic in Golf Bags & Carts
When I would walk as well as ride, I had an Ogio Hybrid bag, I loved it. Then I bought a cart, had a Sun Mountain c130, that was great, now I have a Ping DLX and that is ever better. However, I would never walk with the DLX unless it was on a cart. There is a reason the Pro's don't lug their own bags. -
What makes a Golf Course a "Good" one?
Shannon Severson replied to Dooby's topic in Golf Courses & Travel
It might be easier to ask What makes a Course Bad in your opinion. Golf is great, even in the yard at home. A good course is one that keeps it green when it is the drought time of summer. Consistency throughout the season. -
If I am playing a tourney, it is new balls all the way. Beyond that, for everyday players, I get them of Ebay. I get 4 or 5 stars only and recycled only. I have a few sellers that I target, ones I know I have received good balls from. $1.25- 1.50 a ball is a heck of a lot better than $4-5 a ball especially when you plan on loosing them. It also takes a little stress off your game and your marriage. You don't sweat the cost and the wife could care less. And when you do hit it in the long stuff, your search time is a lot less. $108 for 72 balls vs $360 puts $250 towards a new club if needed. I would rather spend money on hammers vs nails.

What Golf Purchases Did You Make in 2023?
Shannon Severson replied to tony@CIC's topic in Member Reviews
My first stop is always MGS before any intended purchase. The reviews here give me a good baseline of which to base my purchase. I always try the top choice and then go from there. Srixon ZX irons were on my to try list, I however like the Pingi230's better. The g430 Hybrid was next and that I did purchase because it is a machine, best hybrid I ever hit. Balls, well, that is user preference. However, I do test them, I do mush them and always Titleist is at the top, but for me, the Vice Pro is a close second. I only wish they would review the sellers on Ebay for these second hand balls as I refuse to pay retail for anything I am going to lose. I pay on average $1.25-1.50 a ball for Titleist and Vice. I have a few resellers that I target and never refurbished, always recycled. -
what is the appropriate length of a putt to give?
Shannon Severson replied to ryan.mzzz's topic in General Q&A
If it is league play, and I am giving you strokes, you expect me to give you putts as well? I have learned, they have a high handicap for a reason, make them putt it. Friendly weekend round, with your usual group, it is voted on by the group. Two people must say it's good. Just playing with your friends, nothing on the line, inside the leather. -
Thank you, always a Party on my Birthday......

Why is golf so expensive?
Shannon Severson replied to Luke James's topic in Breaking News and Debate
The Game can get expensive, it isn't expensive to start, but as you get better, the chase to get even better is what drives your cost. That extra yard, that 1 less putt, beat your buddy all factor into $$$$. And before you know it, you love the game and most people are willing to spend on something they love. -
Do it, I liked my Hybrid, however, my dad bought me a Callaway Big Bertha, Circa 2005 7 wood from Cally Used Clubs for my birthday, I was thinking I would sell it because I already had that yardage in my bag with the Hybrid, until I hit it. Better pop, better feel, more confidence.....Sold the Hybrid.....
