  1. My new Sub70 wedges showed up today! my new sketchers after ONE round this morning. All the rains here in California have made my track a mess,
  2. I just bought a new pair of Skechers Pro... personally, I think y’all have a serious problem here in this thread...
  3. Wowiewowie woof woof!! thats a sick looking set up....
  4. Now there’s a question I don’t know the answer to. Seeing how they’re made of stainless steel, I don’t know that they’re going to get all that rusty, but perhaps more of a “patina”?
  5. As Tom petty said, the waiting is the hardest part... especially since they’re so pretty....
  6. We were on a frost delay for a while this morning, so I only got 9 in. It was hard to swing with 6 shirts and a jacket. didnt bother keeping score, but continued to try to get used to the new p790’s. i tell ya what.. these stix, with the recoil smacwraps (R) are really a joy to hit. I’m now playing a baby cut which seems a little easier to control. The 4 and 5 irons are such a pleasure to hit. I do think I need to take the pw in for a check up. It seems to be coming up too short on a few different occasions. I’m still unable to tell how well they’ll hold the greens until this weather stabilizes.
  7. Look who got a new hat...
  8. Very cool DP, looking forward to hearing how it all goes. I’m very curious how the CB’s feel on a good whack.. have fun!
  9. Yea, i didn’t even think about that when i ordered my wedge set. I need wedges, and I’m betting these are gunna be great. Oh, and for a whole lot less money... it would be cool for sub70 to send some wedges to rick sheils so he could post one of his videos on them, with nuumbiers and spin data for us to see
  10. Yea, can win it if you’re not in it. pats get to playoff with the help of 5-6 easy division wins every year. However.... then they win the big games, and that you can’t argue away. But they get fortunate often too, as they should have lost 48 to the Seahawks, on the int instead of the handoff to Marshawn. Which will be forever know as the worst offensive call in SB history.
  11. Please do- although I’m guessing you can’t say much at thIs point. I’d be quite interested in the 699 iron, it’s their version of the p790, i500, pig and the like... ill find out about the wedges soon, although I’m guessing they’re going to quite nice, especially with my smacwrap shafts and Forged heads. But, they’re wedges so it’s not like they’re going to feel like a pured 5 iron. The 639 CB is also a Forged head, but oddly, and the same as the wedges, Forged from DT4 stainless. I don’t know much about forging stainless, but only heard its more difficult to work with. But they tell me it’s soft.... I’ve always played Vokey, so at least I’ve got a good point of reference for comparison, but the shaft is going to eat up anything fuzzy too, so my wedges might not be a good test for “buttah” softness. o see what you can find, and bang em!
  12. They’ve also got some pure MB’s that I’m gunna guess are in the “buttah” category..they’re not on their website just yet. im really stoked that Jason went out of his way to get the shafts I wanted to give me a seamless blend into my current gamers. It’s looking like they’re all about making their customers exactly what they want... cant wait!!
  13. Talked with Jason and almost finished ordering a set of “raw” wedges. He is checking to see if he can get the Recoil “SmacWrap” shafts to match my iron set. Hopefully get completed today. Custom grip choice, (mcc align +4), a few shaft options, and lofts, lies, and lengths. All hand built, logos down. And still way less than a stock anything, by about a third of the cost. If they work, which i expect absolutely, then winner winner chicken dinner. Seeing how quickly wedges wear out supposedly, this is a great deal. Lucky for them, I’m standard everything. But they’ll dial em in to your request. Forged wedges with all my softening additions should be soft as “buttah”, haha. I’ll chime back in after I get them into my grubby paws and start dragging them thru the mud. Yay
  14. I owned Gurley, Michel, Edelman and Gronk in my fantasy football. They all took a steaming dump on me during the first playoff game and I scored my lowest output of the entire year. i think gurley got hurt in the KC game on the horse collar tackle, he hasn’t been worth a pile of beans since.
  15. I’ve been on cart path a lot lately too here in SoCal. We’ve been getting hammered this year with rain! Thank goodness!!
  16. Sets a record for the most boring SB in history

    Sub70 golf

So I’ve seen this name here and there on a few posts in here so I thought I’d take a look. They’re a small company selling clubs that are supposed to be pretty good, and basically cutting out the “middleman” thus selling for much less. I spoke with one of their guys, I want to say Jason, but my memory stinks so don’t quote me on that. Anyways he seems like a real cool cat and I liked his vibe, and how they’re trying to run their business. So im going to order a set of wedges from them and see how they are. They let you semi- customize your order with grips and shafts etc, so I’ll talk with him in the next few days to try and dial in a matching shaft with my new p790’s. Anyways, more to follow...
  18. Lol, I finally made a birdie on 17... the greens are the hardest piece on my new track to figure out. Not really flat anywhere. Hard to stick em, seems they’re either too wet and muddy, or too dry and hard, and super fast... my hdcp is climbing quickly on this track..., it’s quite hard to break 80
  19. Finally broke 80 again at my new club with a solid 79... with my new irons. getting used to how to hit them, seems they like a slight cut more so than a slight draw. But they go pretty well. The greens are in a weird winter mode- super thin grass on greens, then soft wet dirt underneath. Very hard to get anything to stop on them as the mud just sucks the spin right off...
  20. Got my p790’s today. They were described as “mint”, 9.8/10, and having been played only one round. well, if he shot a 350 for that one round, then maybe... but the clubs have obviously been hit much more then described. Still pretty nice, and probably still a good deal, but nothing close to “one round”, mint”. With that tho, they’re probably still a 8.5/9, so I’m still pretty pumped. Plus what pissed me off the most was his packing for shipment. He just put them in a box and taped it shut. Zero clubhead protection for shipping. Nice to get a little head start on some chatter eh? So anyways, all I could really do was to mention those things in his feedback, and hopefully he’ll do better next time. now I can’t wait for tomorrow morning and check these bad boys out!
  21. Played like crap today. Jacking around with my swing again isn’t doing me any favors
  22. I’m kinda with the other guy about lessons now. You might think you’re doing something right, and ingrating (sp?) into your mind and muscle memory- but in reality it might be a fatal flaw. Getting a basic lesson or two (maybe video tape it for future reference) might save a lifetime of bad habits. Getting correct structurally right away, and then working on that might be a time saving device. One other thing is, and hopefully not sounding like a stinker, that being realistic about scoring shouldn’t become a “hang up”. I have a few friends that just aren’t ever going to be a single digit, ever. I’ve always believed that some people are born with a swing, and some are not, no matter how hard they try. So while I admire your goals, don’t become overly crazy about getting there if it just isn’t working no matter what you do. The vast majority never break 90, much less 80. A rotten round can be saved by just one or two great shots, and usually, that great shot makes the round acceptable. Always strive for excellence, but don’t beat yourself up for not reaching a goal that perhaps might never be attainable, and enjoy the day regardless, and just do the best you can...
