  1. If it had to be only one club, it's be the driver...need a good fit there as I'm now almost 46 and starting to lose some distance (and a bit of control help has always been nice and needed, LOL).
  2. I'm guessing it falls somewhere between the CB1 and CB2.
  3. For some reason, I can't find my name on the list.
  4. Please, please, please keep this place as open, honest, unbiased and impartial as humanly possible.
  5. They've taken a once classy brand and reduced it to the beer, sleeveless t-shirt and tennis shoe golfer that thinks of nothing but how hard they can swing and how far they can hit it -- no matter how good that shot actually is. (In and of themselves, none of those things are terribly bad...but together, and on the golf course is not a good combination) Oh....and that commercial is horrible.
  6. Picked up some (4 dz) of the Gamer's for my off-season and 9 hole league play - $9.99/dz. Also got 4 dz Z-Stars for 30% off and another 2 dz for 50% off....and some TP Blacks for 50% off. I'm set for until next year.
  7. Put me down as another looking forward to this review. I haven't been happy with a driver since my FT-3, and I've just moved away from Callaway because of that.....but I could always go home again.
  8. Put me in the camp that wants to hear more on the Titleist. I had some credit I had to use from last season, and got both a 910D2, or D3 (the smaller one)...and also an Adam's 9064LS. I'd love to hear more, or see a review of either. With all the snow around here, I haven't had a chance to hit either one of them.....they're just sitting there, all shiny and new....teasing me.
  9. Interesting info....thanks for sharing.
  10. I like it....they just need to find a way to get it on radio as well as TV.
  11. Google for a few minutes and you'll find out he's not a very sympathetic figure. He seems to be a user, loser, and lazy bum. Won't be watching.
  12. Interesting....not sure how I feel about "open mold" clubs. Seems like it's just a generic design -- maybe good, maybe bad -- and that it brings a lot of variables into what you could end up getting. Seems like it could be a real hit or miss thing. Think I feel better about having a big name company standing behind things.
  13. Not sure if this is the right forum, but I hear about Endo, Miura, Ping forgings, and Balliwick or Miller's that used to do some forgings in America......what's the difference? What differentiates one from the other? For example, I know the new Callaway Razr X-Forged claim to be Endo forged. Also, I've seen sets of the previous versions of X-forged called Quad Dots that are supposedly Endo forged. Again, what would be the difference? For this example, if Endo did the Quad Dots....who did the others? Just overall....what's the lowdown of the various forging houses? Processes? Differences?
  14. Is this the Adam Barr that used to be on the Golf Channel?
  15. I must have missed something.....how'd you guys get them?
  16. I don't feel like my swing feels any different other than what I've intentionally worked on with my instructors. I will mention that this past season I've had my best season ever and lowered my handicap to the lowest it's been in a long time. I don't think that's directly related to the weight loss, but I know it didn't hurt.
  17. But seriously.... Been eating better, cutting out all the junk. Lots of fruits and veggies. Lots of meat, lots of low carb stuff. It's been a combination of the old tried and true: eat better, eat less, exercise more.....more calories burned than taken in.
  18. Figured I'd check back in and update things since at the forum outset I'd been one to use this section so much. Started things about the time the forum kicked off.....and started at 232 lbs with a 40" pant size. Been changing my eating habits, working out (both on my own and with a trainer), running, yoga, cycle classes, core training....just a bit of everything. Now weighing 200 lbs (have even seen some sub-200 numbers every so often), and in super comfortably in a size 36 pant. I'm probably more like a 34", but most of them fit me in the waist but not through the hips and butt. I haven't weighed this in at least 15yrs, and was a size 34" back in college at 188 lbs. Still a solid 10 more pounds to go. My trainer says we can still get another 3-4" off my waist. Coincidentally, or not, I've had my best golf season ever this past season. Just figured I'd update things....hopefully it will offer encouragement to anyone else trying to lose weight/get back in shape. I very much hated getting started exercising again. After playing college sports and working out forever, I had just let myself go too far. It was very difficult at first....but I just kept at it. If I can do it, so can you.
  19. So this year, I've had my most successful golf season ever. I've actually won around $1600 of credit, and I'm going to get some new irons and a new driver. Don't really need anything, love my current stuff....but gotta get something, and I figured I'd go ahead and get some new irons with the new grooves in case I want to play in any upcoming USGA stuff. Also, I've not been totally satisfied with my driver situation for the last 2-3 years, so I figured this would be the time to get some new equipment. What do you guys think? What do ya recommend? Throw some ideas out there. For info, I'm currently a 6 index, normally play a straight to a draw ball flight, am a 1 plane swing student, not the best ball striker but am a good scrambler. This season I set two new personal bests, and both of them came in competition. One was in the city amateur championship (74, at the time a new competitive best) and the other was in my club's match play (a 71, now my all time best). My current clubs are Callaway X-Forged (the original model), and my driver is a SMT 455 Deep bore with an x-stiff Aldila NV65 (got it from the Sr Tour van when they played my club). I just got fit yesterday for the first time ever, and the guy fit me for 1/2 inch long KBS Tour, stiff flex in my irons....and a driver shaft of 260-265 cpm's at 45" and 60-75 gram shaft. Be happy to hear some thoughts/suggestions.
  20. Hey guys! Haven't checked this thread for a while (obviously, lol) send me a PM on here and we can try to get some golf in.
  21. Wow...I thought they went out of business.
  22. I think Tiger will got one of two ways: either the writer is correct and Tiger is basically done...or, he will put all this behind him and go on another tear like his dominate season back with Harmon. I think it's either/or....I just don't think he'll squander somewhere in between.
