  1. No golf in MI, April 10, springtime in the D.. Will it ever end?
  2. New stuff cobbled together, 913D3 8.5 with UST Proforce AXIVCore Tour Black wood shaft, 77g, going heavy. 915fd 3 wood 15' with recycled UST Proforce AXIVCore Tour Black wood shaft, 69g, might be too light, Maltby KE4 Tour HDI Hybrid #2, with, yep, recycled UST Proforce AXIVCore Tour Black hybrid shaft. Also put on GP MCC 4 grip on it, blue, for its calming effect. Got the Maltby idea from MattF, thanks, MattF. The Titleist heads came from rebay. The driver. shaft is new, the other 2 were pulled from old Bang stuff rotting away in the kid's bag. All assembled with TLC by yours truly and I made sure the epoxy cured. This is very important in order to be a good citizen. Forgot to use that lizard venom stuff though, damn.
  3. Good thing we only got two feet Bought Footjoy dry joys tours last year's model, for $109, $80 off. Never buy anything unless it has the little orange sticker on top of the original white sticker. Multiple orange stickers even better.
  4. Handsome hardware, looks you will have to play two golf balls, it is a moral imperative.
  5. Not to shock everyonwe, but I plurged and bought a used 913 D3 8.5 head off ebay for 125 and got a UST Proforce AXIVCore Tour Black 77 grams from Golfworks for 70 and I got it pured for 15. I am experimenting with a heavier shaft. I've played AXIVCore Tour Black before and I like it as it seems to tame my hook.
  6. One of those shafts which cost 380 on the Golfworks site? I've always wondered what kind of improvements I would gain with a very expensive shaft like that.
  7. Yesterday he returned home with more "product", then upon closer inspection, he found he had damaged goods. Sorry, all sales are final at Aunt Sallys.
  8. My friend has lost his mind. He is stalking second-hand stores for donated golf gear, and is bringing it home and trying to sell on ebay. He might buff or change a grip to enhance the "product". Does this make him a ho?
  9. Playing in the snow is quite manly. Can't say I've ever done it, shoveling the driveway is bad enough. Hope you have nice toasty weather in Fla.
  10. Little cool out there, eh fellas? How about this? golf course snow.bmp
  11. KAD, did you re-locate to South Carolina? Are you a Lions fan? It was nice to play. Some of the guys felt kinda of weird, guilty, I felt like we deserve this stuff, at least give us this one day a month. El Nino came through this year but the polar vortex guy will get even. In more week, the days start getting longer!! Would love to play golf in South Carolina in December, January, February, etc. That is why I keep buying Lotto tickets.
  12. Played 27 yesterday, in Michigan, on Dec. 13th, but golf was never so hard. There was heavy fog for 3 holes, there it was thin, wet lies, flaring mid irons, chunked 3 shots in a row in front of a lake that ended up a "pentuple" bogey, then the short game was not stellar and even though I didn't know it, I fell in the hole. Shot 45/41, then we goofed off with a 9 hole scramble. I tried to be thankful for the rare opportunity to golf in December, but I was shocked and humbled how hard the game of golf can be.
  13. I was going to click Like This not for your difficulties but for how well you illustrated them. I can definitely identify with all of it. So next time we play, between shots we got to turn off all of that stuff and enjoy. Slow play is tough, plus riding carts, makes for too much idle time, and then the thinking starts. I think that is why Trevino talked so much, to keep his brain from engaging in all of that. I look at this as "falling in the hole", where we get lost in our own game, worrying about the overall result of the round while we are still in the middle of it. Keep the brain engaged with something simple, like small talk, fiddle around with the bag, watch those quackers waddle around, anything but bad stuff. Easier said then done. I fall in the hole a lot.
  14. Smooth moves for sure. This guy selling anything else? Would you happen to know his seller's name?
  15. Same ones, those were the originals when I bought them. Of course I can't say for certain since they were stock shafts, but I did reshaft my 7 iron last summer with an aftermarket and it feels the same as the others. Do the OEMs do the same with steel shafts as they do with graphite, where we get some facsimile of the graphite shaft?
  16. I bought a set of Project X Flighted iron shafts 3-PW, (4) MCC4 grips, and a bag of ferrules cuz my 5,6,9, and PW were all bent. I have no idea how they got bent, except the 5, I definitely know how that one got bent. That leaves the 3,4,7,and 8 in reserve for future maladies that may or may not occur. And a Swing Swoosh, and a training DVD from Revolution Golf. No new clubs, but one day.........
  17. Why do dogs lick their balls? Because they can.
  18. The Lions are leading the Packers 23-20 with 23 seconds left....
  19. If you want to hear music while you play wear ear buds or headphones as to keep the noise between your ears. Over the years there as been a increase in noise period. People don't talk they yell. I was taught never to speak loud enough to be heard by anyone outside my group. That means no yelling across the fairway, on the greens, etc. These days people show no regard to anyone outside of their group. So what? So let's dance..
  20. Yes when conditions are right as many have mentioned already. Walking allows for time between shots too cool off plus all of your clubs are with you. Are many times when riding do we end up with the wrong club even when we grabbed 2 or 3 from the cart but when we get to the ball we find that something else might work better? I hated when that happens.
