Hey @CGRIGSBY- welcome to the site! Golf is such a great game so I am glad you are giving it a go. I am a bit south of you in the Springs but always looking to tee it up. Currently working through a grip change and a small swing tweak but hit me up if you are ever interested in teeing it up.

Thanks @vandyland for adding to this. I may give it a shot after reading your feedback. Is there another post I can follow?

The T200's are great irons. Personally, I decided to go with the Srixon Z585. Performance was better for me and I found that I preferred the feel of the Srixon. I was coming from a set of 718 AP2's and wanted a bit more forgiveness than they offered. I would say get fitted (if available in your area) and compare multiple irons. A fitting will also help you determine if you need to keep your hybrids or if the long irons in the T200 will replace them.
Good luck and have fun with the search!

@toehold57 Thanks for the info! I hadn't looked into Antler Creek or Shining Mountain yet. I might try to get out to Pine Creek over the holiday weekend. Hopefully this morning's snow doesn't stick around too long.
-
@toehold57 Good to hear - I have hit balls on the range at Pine Creek but have never played it. In fact, I have yet to tee it up in Colorado. Same with Kings Deer - only hit some balls on the range. I think Kings Deer normally closes for the winter but I think Pine Creek stays open
@RaginCajun See my comments above - I haven't played PJ but it is pretty open from what I've seen. I was supposed to play in a league there this summer but COVID stopped that from happening. From my understanding the course is pretty open but don't expect to play real quick.

@RaginCajunWelcome to the site - I am in the Springs and looking forward to playing some golf up in yor neck of the woods next season. Hopefully we can get a group together and tee it up when it warms up (and when groups are allowed) again

Tyler, we have some great courses up her in No Co. A lot of really good muni course. I typically play Mariana Butte in Loveland or Highland Meadows in Windsor. TPC Colorado is a beautiful course, but I could make a car payment for what a round of 18 costs out there. If you make it up this way let me know maybe we meet up for 18.
Sounds good - I would love to make that trip. Might have to do a little research and find some breweries up there too.

Hi everyone! I have been on the forum for a little while just not very active. I think that getting on this might help improve my game, if only a little. Below is a little about me.
I have been playing golf since I was 17 so 24 years, wow 24 years! I have never been an avid golfer. I would play anywhere from 0-6 rounds a year. The most I played was over the summer when I was in college. I worked at a course and would play 3-4 days a week. I had my scoring down to low 80's. Then graduated and moved to Colorado and went back to 0-6 rounds a year. so currently my scores are in the low 90's and I am pushing to break 90. I missed it by one stroke a coupe weeks ago. Long and short I am somone who wants to play more, but life and budget get in the way. If you are in Northern Colorado and need someone to fill a foursome I will do my best to be that person.
I am in the Springs so not exactly Northern Colorado but definitely looking to travel next season and explore some of the courses. I am in the same boat as you after moving to CO from Phoenix last year. Haven't teed it up enough to know how bad I am playing anymore but recommiting to my game and plan do some work over the winter.

How long have you been playing golf? What’s your handicap or normal score? I have been playing since age 14. I am an unofficial 12. I usually shoot mid to low 80's
-
What do you love about golf? I love golf because whether I play great or completely hack it up I still want to get back out and play more. Golf is a love/ hate relationship. Golf is the best sport ever! Golf is the most ridiculous sport ever! Golf is a unique, individual game that teaches honesty, integrity, sportsmanship, discipline, and focus.

What brings you to MyGolfSpy? Do you already know any other Spies? I enjoy the non-biased reviews and opinions from real people, not paid spokespeople. I value input from average golf junkies like myself.

Where are you from? What is your home course? Littleton, Colorado. No official home course. I would say The Meadows and Foothills are my home tracks because that is where I learned the game. Now I play South Suburban most frequently (fantastic course conditions). We hold our unofficial men's club at S.S. My best round ever was at Plum Creek (1st and only 79!). My favorite tracks are: Murphy Creek, The Ridge, and Fox Hollow

What are the best and worst things about golf in your region? Great weather for golf Spring/ Summer/ Fall. Nothing beats 'Indian Summer' golf. Sunny almost everyday! Although it is very common for the weather to change mid-round! Some local courses in my area seem really proud of their courses. Douglas County courses seem overpriced (ex. Lone Tree, H.R.). The Ridge can be pricey, but the product and experience is high quality. I feel there is much better value at most courses outside of South Denver metro area (Murphy Creek, Fox Hollow, Legacy Ridge).

What do you do for a living? Optometrist

How’d you pick your user name? Avid Colorado Skier
@CO2planker Welcome to the site. Lots of good stuff here and I am sure I haven't found all of it.

In Castle Rock there’s Plum Creek, a Pete Dye course I think. It was a brute for me.
Arrowhead, technically in Littleton, plays in the middle of the hogbacks. What a course, beautiful.
Besides Kings Deer and Pine Creek there’s Patty Jewitt and WoodMor.
Cherokee Ridge is a fun 9 hole course. Been hitting it a lot on nice days this year.
Sent from my iPad using MyGolfSpy@toehold57 Thanks for the tips! I have heard good things about Arrowhead and will check out Plum Creek. I have never played very well on Pete Dye courses but still enjoy them. I might take my son over to Cherokee Ridge one of these days.

@Jbmullin Srixon are great irons! I played the 545/745's for a long time. Keep looking- hopefully you will find them close to you to try.
@rsilman I love the 818 hybrid. Even more so now that I decided to flatten the lie angle on it. I tend to hook hybrids - played the Callaway Apex for a while and could never hit it straight. The 818 is honestly probably the safest club in my bag right now and will probably be there for a while.

I have lived in Colorado Springs for about 10 years and have played most of the local courses. I live on the North end so I frequent Kings Deer most often, Pine Creek or the Air Force Academy are also good choices. Kings Deer will give you the most bang for your buck and is currently open for walking only when the weather cooperates. Bear Dance in Larkspur is another great mountain course.
Sent from my iPad using MyGolfSpyAwesome. Thanks! I am in the Rockrimmon area and have hit balls at both Pine Creek and King's Deer but haven't played either course. Looking forward to it after we get back to normal and today's snow melts.

I have gone to D’Lance and got a whole bag fitting when they dropped the price around Christmas a few years back. It comes with free tuneups for life so I have gone back for adjustments twice. They have a great facility and knowledgeable people. I wouldn’t hesitate recommending them to you over Club Champion.

@Tap In thank you. I have been leaning towards D'Lance especially since they are offering their lifetime fittings for $250 right now. I appreciate the recommendation.

@GaDawg thank you! Looking for forgiveness this year which is why I put the 585's in the bag. Probably looking to replace the TS3 at some point with something a little more forgiving.

Thanks for the feedback. I am looking mainly for something spikeless. I am a big fan of ASICS running shoes so I thought I would give them a try. How does the sizing compare to the running shoes? Other golf shoe brands?Don't think you'd go wrong with either. I have a pair of the ASICS in spikeless and spiked (with BOA)...I like them both very much. Like any good ASICS shoe, they're very comfy and both have plenty of stability for my needs. I guess the looks are a matter of taste, but I don't mind them at all. They're definitely in the shoe rotation for 2020, whenever it starts...

I believe they're discontinuing this model. Perhaps an improved version is coming or already available.
Interesting. Hopefully I can pick up a pair for a decent price unless the new ones are that much better. I appreciate the info.

Hello everyone. Does anyone have any feedback on the ASICS golf shoes that are available in the US? I have been considering ordering a pair but have also considered another pair of Ecco Biom.

@Shankster thank you!

Hello everyone. I keep seeing ads and emails for the Golf Forever program and have been toying with signing up for the 7 day trial. Does anyone have any experience with it?

The True knits look great and I think I may give them a shot. Tomo shoes look pretty good also. I don't have any experience with either but definitely like the looks of both.
