  1. I'm kind of the same - the sad fact is I don't get to play much, and at age 71. Over the past few years, I've tried lots of balls - and really can't tell a lot of difference. But, I was delighted with the Mizuno 566V - and right under that in the plain 566. They don't feel like a rock, are fairly straight (yea, that driver slice still shows up but it wasn't as bad as with other balls), had plenty of stopping power on greens, and are reasonably durable - is three rounds asking too much? They aren't usually in Golf Galaxy, but you can get them direct from MizUSA - and are reasonably priced!
  2. I've been wanting a Mizuno (my choice of irons) iron - just the head - no shaft, that I can display on my desk. Is there anyone out there that would sell one to me reasonably? It would be kind of cool if it were a 1 or 2 iron (my story would be that I can't hit the darn thing, but one of these days...). I had thought about destroying one of my MP54's - but you know, I just can't bring myself to do it....
  3. I used Simple Green on a 2003 Ford truck bumper to clean off tar and general dirt - the chrome started flaking right after that. No, Ford wouldn't replace the bumper. And the transmission crapped out at under 40k miles. Don't use harsh cleaning soaps on chrome.
  4. Linwood Virginia 30 (hey, we all have to start on the road to better, don't we? and if we haven't played much until now, this will be an incentive to get out there!) JPX 850 forged Hot Metal (should help me with distance and control)
  5. Linwood Virginia 90 TM RSX Senior std. graphite Don't y'all NEED an old, high hc person to test these - just for the sake of drawing that generation in?
  6. I'm thinking about a set of Mizuno MP-54's, and Nippon steel shafts - 950's. I've never hit these shafts - and wondered what y'all think of them? Any insight to trajectory, etc.?
  7. I would like to test these - I still haven't found an all around ball that I like. Feel is important to me. Linwood Hines, Virginia 26 (only been playing seriously for almost a year) 50+ pro-shop (support your local First Tee - they are part of the future of the game)
  8. I definately don't have the game that's the norm here (I'm just a lurker here), but after just two years of playing/learning with a good coach, and being able to try lots of name clubs, the Mizuno forged JPX irons have a feel and accuracy I've found in no others! So I don't know much, but what I Feel is superb. Get some!
  9. Hello I'm new to this custom putter thing. Help me out as I like the center shafts - but have never tried one. Any advantage to them? It seems that it would make sense with a straight swing, does the "traditional" Anser style prevail just because it traditional?

  11. I'm a "returning" player - haven't played in 15 years (shoulder problems "kinda fixed"), and am enjoying the heck out of - well, I'm STOKED! and I don't have a golf buckle - or even a good belt (I could use a good belt after my scores)...so this one got me to looking at what's out there - the corporate stuff....and I wouldn't wear one of those other ones if it were the last day...but THIS ONE- NOW THIS IS PURE SEX, when it comes to belt accoutramont! I hope they'll be sold here, and not be as expensive as the Muira clubs you reviewed.... Linwood
  12. Man, I've been looking for a good center shafted putter - hoping I could get an idea of cost! Linwood
  13. Geez....this is doggone neat work - sexy stuff.....will my pocketbook handle it? You know when you see something that just DOES IT FOR YOU?! I'm there! Linwood
  14. WHOA - WAITAMINUTE: So, where can we find the data Maltby gathers? Is that something that MGS could link to? What would it tell us about clubs? This could be significant! at least gnarly! Linwood
